5 Top Tips For Preparing For a Job Interview

  • Years ago (20) when I was much younger and attractive, a recruiter once suggested I attach a photo of myself to my resume. The reason was that most employers will hire someone that is attractive vs someone that isn't. Of course that was the time when we actually mailed in resumes vs now using the internet.

Most employers out there will either like/dismiss you immediately when they meet you. You know the saying you only have 1 chance to impress. That is why they always tell you to dress for success since you want to make that 1st impression.

    good luck

  • I think sort out your resume.

Unless your applying to be a model/actor or dancer i doubt your "good looks" have any matter. :)

Job Interview Questions: Advice for a part-time job interview?

I'm in high school and I have a job interview this Friday at a Tim Horton's........I've never had a job before so this will be my first interview and I have no idea what to expect. Does anyone have any advice? Any tips to follow on what to say or what to wear etc would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Are You Making These Common Job Interview Mistakes?

Recommended Answer:
I'd say you should wear something professional that would also make you feel confident. Always dress for the job you want (even though it's just a part-time type of job). I would suggest wearing some dress slacks w/ a white button up shirt. Always try to cover tattoos or other things like that. Make sure that you're clean & your hair's brushed, your nails aren't chipped, etc.

You should also smile a lot and try to be personable w/ the interviewer. They'll most likely ask why you applied there, you can say something like I'm a customer here and I've always really liked it, so I thought I'd apply. Try & be flexible as well.

4 Tips For Having the Most Success With Your Job Interview

  • When going to an interview presentation of your self is one of the main priorities. So dress nice; When appoaching your manager, make sure you shake their hand firmly and look at them in their eyes. Letting them know , their not hiring no jokester. Be well mannered and answer each question with thought. Most importantly BE CONFIDENT.

Dont worry, you will get the job. Like I said , be well dressed, well mannered, and most importantly confident!

Job Interview Questions: How Do I Introduce A Nickname During A Job Interview?

I have a job interview at red lobster today (so its not like a formal interview) but I was just wondering how I'm supposed to introduce it? I really hate my legal name and I don't want to take the chance of waiting until (or if) I get hired to tell them because by then they probably would have already made me a name tag.....

Take a Look at Some Useful Job Interview Tips

  • As they greet you and shake hands you say, "John Smith, but I go by Jimmy."

Or, "Joh smith, but I prefer to be called Jimmy."

Or whatever your names are in this case.

  • When introducing yourself say: Hi my name is __________________but I go by ____________________.

  • When you first meet the interviewer, shake their hand and say "Hi, I'm (nickname)".

  • I agree with all of these answers. Just don't be forceful about having to use a nickname, or even have a friend stop by and call you by the name, it could catch on a little bit.

  • Hi I'm Beverly but I go by Bev.... I've said that a million times!

Job Interview Skills: Can You Communicate on the Phone?

  • Dress professionally [in something like slacks and a dress shirt] and try to go a bit early. It helps to research the company so you know a bit about them and can ask informed questions. As for the interview itself, try to anticipate your answers to common interview questions, as it may help you during the actual interview.
