Job Interview Questions: Did this job interview go well?

I recently had an interview for subway over the weekend, and it was my first job interview ever. I think it went well, but I am still nervous to wether or not I will get the call.

At the end of the interview he shook my hand and said "Well, you seem like a very nice and outgoing person. We will call you within two days, by tuesday, and if not then make sure to call us."

Do all interviewers say this, or is there a good chance I might have gotten the job?

Job Interview Guide - Some Tips to Ace Your Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
you have a great chance at getting the job.....I hope you get it.

Preparing to Answer Job Interview Questions

  • The fact that you were not offered the job at the end of the interview suggests that the interviewer has not chosen anyone yet for the job. He most likely had other people to interview for the position. You may or may not get the job. You should not stop looking for a job until you get a job offer.

  • very good sign. don't forget to follow up with a thank you note for the interview

  • I'd say 80%+ you'll get the job. Professionals who interview potential recruits won't just waste time with you. Especially if he's saying he will call you back in a few days and then tell you to call them. Make sure you follow-up, although not all jobs require you to do so in order to get accepted. It never hurts to make every possible effort to make sure you got the job. It shows you have determination and the fact that you really want the job.

Considering that it's a job at subways, the interview won't require as much detail as a white-collar job where they would ask you your preferred salary and check-reference your college GPA with previous employers.

Don't get your hopes up, but be confident. Don't second guess it. What have you got to lose? Because let's say for some reason you don't get the job, there will be other opportunities. I personally think you have a good chance. Although "nice" isn't what everyone looks for, the outgoing personality defines everything most employers seek in recruiting employees. It means you will definitely communicate well with customers. It means you are more upbeat and optimistic than pessimistic and a defeatist.

If you don't get the call on Tuesday, or it's Tuesday afternoon, give them a call. And if for some reason you screw up, don't beat yourself over it. It's your first job interview ever. You should take pride that you made it through without having a panic attack in the middle of the interview. I've seen it happen. If you got such a response, you should be fine. If you DO get the job, make sure to stay positive and confident. Work hard too.

I hope you get the job and do well. Make lots of money while you can. Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: Question about Old Navy Job Interview?

I have a job interview Tuesday at Old Navy. How do I need to dress? I was thinking black button up, khakis, and dress shoes. What questions will they ask? Should I bring a reference list?

Job Interview Tips

Recommended Answer:
Dressing business casual for this interview would be a great idea, and even better if its their brand name clothing that you're gonna wear. Take your resume, and keep the reference sheet for the end of the interview. If this is your first interview with the company, be prepared to answer questions such as:
1. Tell me about yourself (this is where you walk them through ur resume)
2. Why Old Navy?
3. What do you know about the company?
4. What can you bring to the company if we hire you?
5. Why should we hire you, as opposed to anyone else?

Sometimes they'll ask you to do a roleplay and try to sell them a product.
Overall just be confident, be yourself, and answer the questions directly, giving examples, and you'll be fine.

  • What you plan on wearing is fine. Bring the references but only offer them if they ask. If this is your first interview with them they will ask about your work experience, What you know about the company? How you interact with people? Possibly explain a situation and ask how you would handle it. The may also show you examples of what they sell and have you put together an outfit and explain yourself. Be patient and calm, taking your time to fully listen to the questions and thinking your thoughts through before answering. I hope this helps. Good luck on getting the job

Job Interview Questions: Should I ask for the job after immediately after the job interview?

I was reading a few articals that stated the most common interview mistakes. A some of them said the most common mistake was failing to ask for the job. Is this true? should someone be bold enough to outright ask for the job after the interview?

Job Interviewing Preparation: The Winning Approach!

Recommended Answer:
You shouldn't because you don't know if you got the job, it's better if they call you days later letting you know you got the job.THe interview was just that to see if you fit the position so you can't say did i get the job because you don't know how you did on the job interview, unless they say after congrads you got the job.

You need something to stand out. You want them to think, "Hey, he/she is...."
But I've never been to a group interview.

If you don't get the job, I'd suggest taking a CPR class. It's always cool to have that on an application.
& have you ever done any volunteering? Try to volunteer at an animal shelter.

I'm a 19 year old community college student and I am scheduled for an interview this Saturday. As excited as I am, this is the first job I actually got a call back from. Apart from bringing my resume and myself, I don't know what to wear. Any tips?

Job Interviews - Do You Really Want the Job?

      Recommended Answer:
Haha, well I personally am the type to dress up for job interviews and other things just for the sake of dressing up (really neatly done hair, blouse and skirt, nude hose, black heels), and I'm 17. But I'm guessing, you don't want to wear all that. =)

Meh, wear a nice shirt, a skirt, and possibly flats or low heels if you want to. I'm sure you'll get the job anyways.

End Your Job Interview Gracefully - Here's How

      • Wear a neat, pretty, dress or skirt and blouse -- or good trousers and a blouse -- and a nice, simple, jacket/blazer. Low heels or plain flats would be fine with either outfit.

You may not have to dress that way if you get the job, but for an interview, you should dress in a manner that respects the event.
