Job Interview Questions: What does it mean when someone says this in a job interview?

In a sandwich fast-food place.

"We're doing other interviews for the position this week so if anything comes up we'll let you know"

Does this basically mean "Go away, you're rejected?"

The Top 3 Job Interview Questions Asked To College Students -- And Exactly How To Answer Them!

Recommended Answer:
No, it doesn't mean that. Basically, they are keeping you from being too cocky from thinking you got the job, and letting you know that other people are in the running for the job.

Job Interview Issues - How To Dress To Match The Interview

  • This means that they want to interview more people before making their decision so that they can hire the best possible person. If they were really interested though they would've said "you have a lot of really good qualifications but we haven't finished interviewing yet" or something to that effect so keep on looking elsewhere but never give up hope either.

  • Nah, I've had two places tell me that already and I got hired at both. I also had two places tell me that, and I didn't get hired at them.

I know, because I thought the same thing when they told me that, too. Maybe they don't want you to think they're desperate? It's really hit or miss, and I think it's sort of one of those things you can't read too much into.

  • We're hoping we can find someone better, or, we've talked to someone else but they might decide they don't want this job.

  • Your emplyement is not of permanent nature

Job Interview Questions: Is it rude to throw out a resume during a job interview?

What would you do/think if a hiring manager threw your resume in the trash towards the end of your second interview?

Techniques To Avoid Job Interview Stress

Recommended Answer:
Yes,especially if you're still sitting in the interview room. It's very unprofessional of him/her to do.

Job Interviewing - Say This, Don't Say That - Part 1

  • no

  • Rude and an indication that management needs to discipline the interviewer. You might want to report that to their HR department.

  • reject him and say that he is 2 rude to be considered

  • Yes that is rude, if it was done in front of you. If your resume is in the trash, then so are your chances of getting hired.

  • At that point, you'd have nothing to lose. I would have stood up and said, 'excuse me'! This is my second interview, and now you're throwing my resume in the trash'? How dare you take up my valuable time and then insult me on top of it'! I then would have gone over to the waste basket, grabbed my resume, and just before walking out the door, I would have said, 'employment is a two-sided agreement, and as far as references go, nothing I ever say about your company will be meant to generate more business for you'

Then, I'd walk out - now matter what the interviewer would have said at that point would have stopped me. Even a threat of suing me for possibly 'slandering' their company. How rude was this?

Don't feel too bad though. Can you imagine how they would have treated you if they would have hired you?

    Good luck

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I have an interview with Walt disney world resort for a merchandise job(to work in a gift shop). I don't really have much to work with! I only have jeans & one polo shirt! My nice, "business-like" stuff is in my storage unit and my parents won't get them for me! So, what should I do? I don't have enough money to buy anything!

Appearance Matters in Job Interviewing

Recommended Answer:
Go naked. I'm not saying it will get you the job, but it will sure get their attention.

Seriously, if jeans and a polo shirt are all you have then I guess that's it unless you can convince somebody you know to loan you something.

I'm not sure what's up with your parents though. If one of my kids wanted to get a job I would be elated. If they had jobs maybe they would stop begging for money. Probably not, come to think of it... Why spend your own money when you can go to the Bank of Dad? Silly me.

Types of Job Interview Questions

  • Well with jeans and a polo shirt you could look professional too!! The most important thing do your make up nice not to havy, your hair down and don't forget the highheel that's what's going to give u the look you need walk straight with your head up!' hope this helps good look

  • make sure your shirt is tucked in, you'll look just fine. good luck.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview while employed?

I have a job interview today at the movie theaters and was offered a seasonal cashier's position at sears about a week ago. If all goes well and I end up getting offered the movie theater job, what should i do? If the movie theater job is permanent and not seasonal, I would prefer to have something I can be sure will be more long term. Should i let the manager know? Also, I haven't started at Sears yet, im still waiting to get a call for the orientation.

Mistakes to Avoid When Answering Tricky Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
If you are hired at the theater you should call the manager at Sears and thank them for the job offer. Inform them that you have since found a permanent job and appreciate that they need help and wanted to let them know you won't be attending orientation. This shows that you are serious about work and have a good work ethic. If things don't work out you may need to apply at Sears in the future. Its always better to leave things on a good note.
Congrats on the new job.

A Job Interview Guide for Starters

  • if you get the theatre position before you start at sears, just don't accept the orientation and move on. if after you start at sears, tell them that you have accepted a permanent position elsewhere as far in advance as possible.

Job Interview Questions: How do I dress business for a job interview?

I have a job interview and the dress code is BUSINESS not business casual.

What is the difference between business and business casual?

Interview Skills You Need To Succeed In a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Business usually implies wearing a suit, business casual is what people wear everyday at work. Nowadays though (especially for women) you dont have to wear a full matching suit. You could mix and match a suit jacket with plain black dress pants or a black skirt.

For a job interview, you want to make a good professional impression so this is what I suggest (what I've successfully worn at my job interviews!):

    - wear a pinstripe business jacket (black, dark grey or navy colour)
    - a white/ivory or light pastel blouse
    OR
    - a white/ivory or light pastel camisole
    - a black pencil skirt that touch your knees
    - black pumps (not more than 3 inches!!! You dont wanna look like a stripper LOL ;))

Add simple accessories (small pearl neckclace or small studded earrings) and make sure your hair is tied up. Interviewers want to see your face so if you have bangs or your hair is long, make sure you clip it aside or put it in a professional bun/ponytail. Most importantly, SMILE and be confident! Hope that helps, good luck!

Answer Any Job Interview Question and Get Hired

    • Don't wear jeans. I would recommend wearing a pair of slacks with a button down shirt and some pumps. Or if you have a suit or something then wear that.
