Job Interview Questions: I need help with a job interview!?

Hey i got a job interview at the Spirit Halloween store in 2 days. I was wondering if anyone knew what sorts of questions they ask on the interview. What should i expect and what do i wear?

Thank you

Best Job Interview Tip - You're The STAR

Recommended Answer:
The questions on the job interview usually go something like this.

Q: Why do you want to work for Spirit Halloween?
A: I want to work for Spirit Halloween because It is a wonderful opportunity for me, and a chance for me to learn more about (type of business, ex. retail)

Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
They may ask for up to 3, so have some prepared, and try to turn any weaknesses around to a positive in the interview.

Q: Do you enjoy working with the general public?
A: I enjoy working with the general public and love to work with people, even though I know there are times when customers will get upset I find it best to stay calm and try and do what I can to calm angry customers down and resolve their problems in a friendly helpful matter

I think this answer is good because it will let the employer know that you know about what kind of pressure their is dealing with the more rude people and it lets them know that you can handle that and will try and resolve people's problems, even if they aren't that friendly.

Q: What is good customer service to you?
A: I believe good customer service is making the customer the center of my attention and doing every thing in my power to make sure the customer leaves happy and satisfied.

Q: Do you shy away from people?
A: No, I am lively and outgoing

They may ask about specific tasks that are required for the job, It varies from place to place and there are some jobs that require their employees to do a little of everything like working a cash register, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, stocking, etc.

Just let the interviewer know that you have what it takes to do the job and that you are confident about that, You do not want to leave any doubts in there mind that you are not capable of fulfilling the job requirements.

If asked about reliable transportation, it is usually best if you do have reliable transportation, and to let them know that.

There really isn't too much else I can think of, there may be other questions, but these are commonly asked ones, which I have learned about from my own experiences and seeing others on Y!As.

Always stay positive during the interview, appearance is important too, employers will be looking at that, dress professionally, button down shirt and a nice pair of dress pants, keep your hair comb out of your face, no radical hairstyles, keep any tattoos hidden, and take out any unusual piercings, this might not apply to you, IDK, but it is something to keep in mind, because it is important to the employers.

Just keep all your answers professional, maintain a neat appearance, and stay positive and confident and you should do well. Hopefully this answer was informative and helpful, Good Luck :)

Job Interview Questions: What to say for a weakness at a job interview?

I dont know what to say and I want to say something that could turn positive any suggestions?

    Essentials of Job Interviewing

    Recommended Answer:
    Hello,

The truth is, they really don't care what your weaknesses are. They care about how you handle the question and what your response indicates about you.

The trick to answering this question is to identify a new skill you're learning or planning to develop — something that is only a "weakness" because you haven't yet mastered it.

    I hope this helps :-)

Dressing For a Job Interview in Summer

    • of course youll make SOME money. there are worse jobs

    • First, make sure the equipment you are selling there isnt faulty, and it works. Think about the hour that it will take your to drive there, you could be late many times, you would have to wake up an hour earlier than the other workers. The money they actually pay you will have to be decent, dont settle for something that will not work out in the first place.

if i had to say yes or no, i would go with no hun.

      all my love,
      Jordie.

    • The first thing you want to ask yourself is if it's worth it. You have to commute an hour away for this job which means the amount you get paid shouldn't equal the cost of gas per week you'll need to spend. You'll just end up at 0. Does it provide benefits? Work atmosphere? For example, if it's going to pay you minimum wage you're better off getting a job where you live getting paid minimum wage. Will this job provide any type of future advancement if you wish to do so?
A job is better than no job in today's economy but can you earn a decent living while still commuting an hour? They'll provide you with the salary once they give you a job offer and then you'll have to decide where it's worth it or not.

    • The job interview is nothing to worry about, but the attitude suitability test is what you need to be aware of:

The Deputy doing the interview says: "Your qualifications all look good, but
there is an attitude suitability test that you must take before you can be accepted."
Then, sliding a service pistol across the desk, he says:

"Take this pistol and go out and shoot six illegal aliens, six meth dealers, six
Muslim extremists, and a rabbit. "
      "Why the rabbit?" you ask.
"Great attitude," says the Sergeant. "When can you start?"

Job Interview Questions: What's the weirdest question you've been asked on a job interview?

I've applied to some jobs and being that I'm only 15, if I do get a job interview, it would be my first one. I've heard that some employers ask really weird questions to see how you would do under pressure. I know I wouldn't do well at all, so I just want to see what kind of things are asked and how you all answer.

      • "If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?" (said in a very smug, I'm too good for you tone). My response was "Are you seriously asking me this question?" and then telling the interviewer that I didn't think I'd be the right fit for the corporate philosophy if these were the questions that they used in the interviews. I then took my time to write this in a letter as well to the corporate HR department. We wrote back and forth a few times, I met him for lunch one day when I was in that city on another job interview. I guess I impressed him because shockingly, I was offered a job by corporate to be a manager over the inept interviewer.

      • Can you Tap dance ?
I said i didnt know but would give it a go....
Gave it a go, looked a bit silly, broke the ice and carried on with interview.
Would like to say i got the job but afraid this isnt a fairy tale and they gave it to some other bugger.... oh well its a good story for when iam in the pub!!
My advice... confidence and preperation on company background will take you far, also if you dont know the answer to a question dont blag it say you dont know and could you re-phrase the question please?

        Good luck

      • Hah! One time I remember I was asked "What's up with your costume?" I said, "It's not a costume, I've worn this all my life!"

      • If you could be any cartoon character, what would you be? I totally screwed up on that one. Say you would like to be bugs bunny... very sophisticated, always gets himself out of a predicament, and a clever rabbit.

      • What kind of job is this? [a question to you, I'm 15 as well and I would like to have a job that isn't McDonald or Publix or anything similar]

      • "So tell me about yourself..."
        I went " errr....uhmmm...ah.."
Needless to say dimwit didn't get the job, but I definitely started to learn more about myself after that.

      • i dont have a job but this guy lied he said the president called him and asked do u pick ur nose but he lied

      • One time I was asked my orientation. I said straight, then they asked, "Are you always straight, or just most of the time?"

That guy turned out to be quite weird...

Job Interview Questions: What are hollister taglines? And what should i wear to my hollister job interview?

I have a job interview at hollister tomorrow and i looked online found out that during the group interview the manager asks you to say a hollister "tagline". What is that? and also what should i wear?

Great Tips for a Successful Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
Tagline: Hey what's up? Welcome to the pier.
But during my group interview, none of us had to say a tagline.

DO NOT WEAR A DRESS. DO WEAR JEANS!!!

Wear dark denim jeans, flip flops, and a gray or navy top.
I wore dark denim, flip flops, and a blueish stripped button up from there at my interview.
Also, don't wear a lot of make up

Job Interview Tips - Negative Attributes That Will Stop You Getting a Job Offer

      • First of all, it's very rare to ask about Tag lines in the interview. but if they do, they're attention getter's to customers coming in the store and when they're checking out at the cashwraps. Right now it's "Hey! What's Up? Welcome to the Pier." .. and "Have you signed up for our emails yet". When I first started working there 3 years ago, it was "Hey check out our shorts, they look great!" .. haha, but they're always silly.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRESS UP!! it's a group interview and it's completely casual. Wear dark denim and a grey and/or navy top with matching or leather flip flops. Also be easy with your make up, You need to look pretty, but natural.

      • Don't dress up! Wear clothes only from Hollister. They're very strict on the dress code. Wear a white or navy v neck from Hollister. Or any color of plaid. Wear Hollister Skinny Jeans and some navy, white, or brown flip flops. You can only wear those flip flops or nice brown or white Vans. I heard you can't wear anything with the name on the front like the graphic tee's but I'm not sure. That's their dress code. Wear light makeup. Like foundation and mascara. That's all they allow. You can't wear eyeshadow or eyeliner. Your supposed to look as if you came from the beach. And leave your hair wavy and natural with NO bobby pins. I had a question similar to this a while back.

      • "hey what's up welcome to the pier?" wear grey white or navy that's the colors employees have to wear. .um know what diversity means to you and why it's important in the work place.
        .good luck.!.
.i actually just got hired at hollister & i love it. it's my third week(:
oh dont wear make up they like your face to look "fresh" i guess you can say. if anything we can only wear mascara.
        no nail polish or acrylics.
and not a bunch of accessories.

      • Tagline: Hey what's up? Welcome to the pier

Wear your hair like your at the beach. Maybe like this
        www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEr9JapOA…
or just cute soft waves. Or both

        Dress: www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-set/BQcD…

or something LIKE that. something from their store is recommended.

Easy makeup, Lauren Conrad is someone you really want to look up. she has it down.
        literacyalive.files.wordpress.com…

But be simpler on the eyeliner.

        Good luck! And be friendly!
