Job Interview - 4 Ways to See Yourself as Job Interviewers Do

  • I have been told 1-2 weeks after the managers meet - and they called and offered me a on the way home. And asked that I come back for the next day for the formal proposal contigent upon my background check. Funny thing, is I did not get the job because the background check included a credit check which I failed miserably at the time. On another occasion I was interviewed over the phone and invited to orientation and training after I applied some 3-4 months earlier!!!

Ask yourself the same question if you were doing the hiring. You hire when *YOU* get good and ready. They do what is expedient for them and their business. The rule of thumb is everything in life is negotiable except birth and death. Make them good and ready!!

And the best of luck to you!!!

  • I would not but myself in a position to have to guess. Near the end of the interview when it is your turn to ask questions, ask the person what and when is the next step to obtaining the position and then follow their direction to the Tee. It is also good to send a thank you note to anyone that took the time to interview you, proper manners can make the difference between two equally qualified candidates

  • It depends on the hiring manager. some jobs call right away, some of the employers wait for you to call. i usually wait 3-4 days and if i havent heard i call them. it shows aggression and drive and many employers are impressed by it. It makes you stand out

  • I have been told by many people that it could take up to two weeks for and employer to get back to you.

  • You should completely forget about the interview until you get a response. Don't second-guess anything you said, don't regret not mentioning something, and don't over-analyze how it went.

Maybe you should go online and look for similar jobs and start applying for some others just in case. You may even find another job that sounds even better.

Put yourself in their shoes: would you rather have someone looking neat and clean to have contact with, representing your company (and by extension- your coice making capability)

A Job-Hunter's Guide to Handling Any Job Interview Question and to Answer Naturally & Professionally

    Recommended Answer:
Are you still in college? If so, go to your career center and see if they have a mock interview. If not, try looking into a mirror and try to sell yourself to yourself. The only way to do well in an interview is to practice..practice..practice. Worst comes to worst..you may not be able to pull of the first job but you will at least have that experience to improve on. Also, is your GPA pretty good? I hate that they take that into account because mine is absolutely horrible but that could be a way out. Point is you want that job so you need to just be truthful to yourself and the recruiter. Two main baselines to consider: why do you want the position you are interviewing for and how can you help that organization, company..etc.

    Types of Job Interview Questions

    • I'll tell you the secrets to getting the dream jobs. Start interviewing for everything now. It's your new part-time unpaid job. Or think of it as a supplemental class with very minimal tuition.

Interview for jobs you aren't qualified for. Interview for jobs you have no chance of getting. Interview for everything. Why? Because you need to learn to be completely at ease. A job interview is where a company is looking to buy talent. If you're nervous, you probably have something to hide. They'll pass. If you go to a hundred interviews, you're going to learn how to do them, and you'll probably end up with offers to some of those jobs you're totally unqualified for.

Interviewing is a learned skill. The only way to learn it is by doing it. Forget the mock interviews. Go do real ones. Soon, you'll be completely at ease and not at all nervous, because you'll know exactly what's going on, and have total confidence.

      Good luck.

    • You cant increase the confidence immediately because "Rome was not built in a day". REmember one thing. You are diffident now. Are you thinking that you can pass the interview? No. Many persons fail in interview because they pose.
      1)So dont pose in interview.
2)Think that the interviewers are your friend in past
      3)Dont make artificial smile.
      4) while you are approaching them in place of them you should see your best friend and smile to them like how you are meeting your friend after a long delay. You also pretend that you are happy to meet them.
Then they will be more friendly to you.

    • Hello friend. Its very natural to feel nervous, so forgive yourself this basic human folly.
Now...how much confident you FEEL, is not important, how much you are able to SHOW is.
Secondly, go with the assumption that you are not going to get the job....that will take away all FEAR from your mind.
      Start with a pleasant smile.
      Keep your back straight.
Don't fiddle with your hands, keep them straight, palms down on your news. Be alert and attentive to questions.
Lastly, if that will help, pretend to be someone else, a cousin/sibling/parent/friend who is witty and confident.
      ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • When you go to an interview not only are you trying to sell yourself to the company but they are also trying to sell themselves to you. WTG on the degree! You can do it.

    • look up some videos

Job Interviews - What Makes a Great Interview Candidate?

    • Here's some prep tips:

-Make sure you know how to get there.

-Plan to arrive 10 minutes early.

-Dress professionally (nothing sexy, nothing trendy unless it's fashion career)

-Tonight, write a list of all your accomplishments. Also, write down times where you encountered a problem and what you did about it. That way during the interview, you can say that one time, you encountered this problem and you did this and this and then the result was this.

    • Talk to them like they are people, not robots. They don't want to hear that your weakness is that you're a perfectionist because they hear that all day long. Ultimately, people want to work with people they like and get along with. Show them that you have a positive attitude and that you are perfect for their team. All the best!

    • I am a Human Resource manager and used to be in the restaurant industry. Below is an article that should help.
On top of those tips, remember to leave your phone in the car, and definitely be early. Most interviewers are really trying to see if you will be a fit in their workplace so don't fret so much over the questions that they will ask. Personality is a huge factor, especially if you have never had a job before.
      Good luck!!!

    • Be prepared for the most common questions. Know what your weaknesses are and know how to explain why they are actually beneficial to the employer, this is a common trap. Practice answering some of these common questions to avoid sounding nervous. Be prepared and you will feel and appear more confident.

    • Dress your best! i suggest wearing like a blazer and a skirt, those professional and buisness looking ones. also wear glasses, i heard that people with glasses have a higher change of getting the job. if you dont wear glasses, but some fake ones that look real. dont act nervous, they may not want to hire nervous people. Be organized, bring everything your supposed too and be there on time. hope i helped!!

    • Dress nicely. Depending on the type of job (but if you have an interview it's probably formal) I would wear khakis or a nice skirt or something. Skip the jeans. Be calm and be yourself. Be honest, don't make up wild stories and say you can do things when you can't because it'll come back around.

      Good luck!

    • just avoid common interview mistakes.

    • just be urself and be confident in ur self
