Job Interview Questions: Any tips for a job interview?

i'm going to my first job interview today and am kind of nervous. If you have any tips on what to do that would be great :)

Preparing For the Perfect Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Don't be too nervous, but if you do have some butterflies, it is natural and you can use them to your advantage

First, realize that you are going in to talk to another human being. You're not going to try to learn how to talk to an animal or try to squeeze any emotion out of a robot

Second, know that you are interviewing them just as much as they are interviewing you. You are actually more in charge than they are. It is your choice to interview with them and your decision to accept the job when they offer it to you

Third, be yourself. Don't try to over-extend your experience or make promises you can't keep. Be sure to let them know of any related experience, even if that includes any classes or other training. Good grades or special projects you've earned or participated in can give a potential employer insight to your values and can show them that you have the intelligence to learn anything the job might require.

Be confident. Smile. Give a male interviewer a firm handshake and a female interviewer a less-firm handshake. Ensure your resume is perfect and pristine. Take something to write with and write on and take notes. Ask questions and be sure to thank everyone in the room and, if it hasn't been divulged to you, what the next steps are.

Good luck!

Telephone Job Interviews - What You Should Know

  • If the company has a website read through every page and familiarize yourself with their mission and the services/products they offer. Bring up something you learned from the website during the interview, so the interviewer will know you did your homework.

For example: "I noticed on your website that you offer an employee advancement program. Could you tell me more about that." Pick something that interests you, and ask a question about it,

  • Know why you want the job and be prepared to tell them that, Know your positives and your negatives, Dress nice, be excited about it, be yourself and I'm sure you'll do fine! Good luck!

  • When you're talking, be sure to look the interviewer in the eye, that way they'll know you're honest. (If you get freaked out by that, try looking in between their eyes. They won't know the difference.)

  • Be confident Clear and concise, Dress sharp and speak well. let them know they need you to help they're business grow.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to job interview said "semi-formal business attire" on application?

Said that for the interview. It is at a diner near where I live. I am 15 and a guy

6 Tips For a Successful Medical Device Sales Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Wear a pair of slacks, a dress shirt, a tie, and a jacket. "Semi-formal" actually means a dinner jacket or a dark suit, but I don't think that would be appropriate for a 15 year old kid applying for a job at a diner. Probably means that you'll be required to wear dark slacks, a white shirt and a tie if you get the job.

I'm going for a job interview at a clothing store. I'm 17 years old. I was planning on wearing a pair of black shorts and a nice shirt. My dad thinks I should wear a skirt. Now I do agree I should look nice. But a lot of skirts I have a dressy skirts. What should I wear. Any ideas?

    Recommended Answer:
You didn't mention what store, but it is always best to dress up for the interview.
In this case your dad is correct, a skirt or dress, with nice sensible heels and pantyhose.
Do some online research about the merchandise the store carries so that you can answer questions about the customers that shop there.
Relax and make certain to keep eye contact with the interviewer.
You've got this in the bag... congratulations... you're hired!

Job Interview Skills Tips - Sample Interview Thank You Notes

    • Wear something you'd wear at the clothing store as a worker there. Go visit a store and see what they're wearing!

I've never seen a clerk wore shorts, except at a sporting store in Hawaii where everything is laid back.

Wear a dress or skirt & jacket.

    • If you're interviewing at a clothing store, make sure you wear their clothes! Also remember its better to be over dressed than under-dressed so look your best. Idk what type of clothing store it is, but if they have long skirts or pencil skirts wear that, otherwise their black or khaki pants.

    • something causual something like a dress with a causaul top part maybe that is white and i black lokking pencil bottom but a cute dress would work oh for your shoes maybe some white and balack heels or some black or white heels&jewerly pearls will hit the spot and your bag maybe a cluch

    • black shorts, and a pink shirt if you have one and a pair of black or pink flip flops dont wear a dressy skirt

Job Interview Questions: About the drug test for my job interview?

So at my job interview before yesterday, they paid for my drug test. The manager told me he wants to hire me. However he said that he's going on vacation next week.

He also said there's going to be a second interview. This job is for payless shoe store. This store is not expensive. Why does it take this long?
It never took this long for other retail stores I applied in the past, and they were more expensive.

Preparing to Answer Job Interview Questions

    Recommended Answer:
The time frame of getting hired depends on the manager that is doing the hiring. It does not matter how expensive the store is but what matters in this case is that the manager is going on vacation. He is probably going to be the one to train you so what sense would it make for you to start without being trained? Be patient and it might work out for you, be impatient and it could backfire.
