Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview with publix in the morning and could use some help?

What questions do you suppose they will ask during the interview?
Also any advise/tips for doing well/making a good impression?
This is my first real (paying) job I've ever applied for, and I'm 19

TIA

Job Interview Weaknesses - How to Overcome These Common Job Interview Weaknesses

Recommended Answer:
They'll probably ask what sort of experience you have. Instead of saying "none", say that you have experience babysitting, which provided you with the opportunity to improve your communication skills while dealing with the parents. (or use whatever experience you have, ie tutoring etc).

They may ask what your future plans are, and you should say something along the lines of that you are looking forward to having to working full time (or whatever) while you get your degree (if true).

Basically, the best thing you can do to make a good impression is to smile, look interested, don't mention any bad habits you have, and - this is the most important part- at the end of the interview, thank them, shake their hand, and say "I really want this job. I think it will be a great fit."

Then if they have another applicant to choose between, they'll remember how you seemed to want the job and that you were a good fit for the job, and they'll choose you.

Job Interviews Are Fearful Experiences - Follow a Proven Outline to Ace Your Next Interview

  • They will ask:
    Tell me something about yourself
    What are your strengths
    What are your weaknesses
Why do you want to work here?
Do you have any questions for us.
Everyone is nervous when they have an interview...smile, be yourself, and relax. If you don't understand a question, ask them to clarify it.
Remember that employers hire people so that they will make the company money. So, you should try to convince them that you are a fast learner...that you have great attendance ... and that you will do a great job for them. Hope this helps.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview with enterprise rent a car in chicago?

I have a interview with enterprise rent a car and she stated for me to bring a resume and come dress in a suit. I don't have a suit but I do have professional clothing. Do you think this will affect my chances in getting the job? I am a woman by the way

Job Interview Issues - How To Dress To Match The Interview

Recommended Answer:
I guess that you don't want the job. Beg, borrow, or steal a suit. If you can't follow that easy direction, you will have trouble working for enterprise. They run a tight ship, and really want highly motivated people. The word NO does not exist in their vocabulary. Even if your place doesn't have a car left on the lot, you tell the person that you have the car they want. You call every enterprise in 100 mile radius till you find one, then figure out how to get it to your place. Be dressed properly, and be gung ho. You'll get the job. Good Luck!

Job Interviewing Part I

  • What do you mean by "professional clothing?" If you mean a sports coat and slacks instead of a full-blown suit, you might be able to get away with that. However, to be safe, I would wear a suit if at all possible.

At the very least, do wear that sports coat and business-casual slacks at least - conservative as possible!

  • If you don't have a suit, beg one, borrow one, check out thrift stores and discount stores. If a suit is dress code for the company, you will need more than one if you get the job.

Job Interview Questions: Should I cover up my tattoo for a job interview?

I have a job interview tomorrow at Chili's [a restaurant]. I have a small tattoo on my wrist, should I cover it up for the interview? And then if I do, should I mention it and ask if it needs to be covered while working? Or should I just leave it alone and see if they notice? Thanks :-]

How to Display Enthusiasm at a Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
I would cover it up with a watch or bracelet for the interview. Even if the job doesn't have a problem with it, the actual person interviewing you might.

My job is like that. We have several employees (myself included) who have visible ink. However, I know for a fact that one of the other managers isn't fond of it and he'll give the thumbs down on anyone he interviews if they have any showing. Likewise, it plays zero factor when I'm interviewing something.

As a general rule, getting the job is the hard part, so try to do everything nice and neat for that step.

Also, one of the servers at the Chili's near my house has both wrist tattooed and one of the bartenders has a full sleeve.

Job Interview - Top Tips When Preparing for a Job Interview

  • Hmmm speaking as a woman i say cover it up just for the interview but do not try to hard to do so just enough so the interviewer doesn't see it so it doesnt seem like you were lying because you technically didnt. After you get the job politely ask if the tatoo should be covered up, most of the time layed back restaurants like chilli's do not really care for wrist tattoos.

  • Cover it up with a cardigan or something, and then when you get the job, if they notice it, just pretend you never even thought about it being a problem, and hopefully by then, they will like to enough to keep you there and not sack you.

  • I would make sure to tell them before you are hired, wouldn't want to start off on the wrong foot. So I would do either of those, cover it up BUT mention it, or leave it, show it to them and ask how it should be handled. Good luck at the interview!

  • Cover it up. Don't wear an arm band. Put maybe a band-aid, or a long sleeved shirt to cover it up, and mention it while at the job interview. Seeing if they notice isn't a good idea, they might not appreciate it. Asking is the best way to go.

  • Absolutely cover it for the interview. If you get the job, ask if it's against dress code to have it visible while working. Odds are, you'll have to cover it.

  • Don't volunteer information. Just do a good job, and see if they say anything. They may not. Lots of folks have ink.

  • yeah, definitely cover it up. and then once you get the job......then you ask if you need to cover your tattoo. do not mention it until you are 100% sure you are hired and on the schedule.

  • Nope, it doesn't affect your work. If they have a problem with it after you get the job then they're discriminating

  • i would cover it but then ask if they accept tattoos in their line of work
then point out that you have one

Job Interview Questions: How Do I Introduce My Nickname In A Job Interview?

I have an interview at a Denny's on Thursday and I was just wondering how I go about introducing my nickname in a job interview.

My real name is Joseph but my nickname is Joey. I really want to do it in the interview because if not it's going to be harder if I get hired. Thank you.

Job Interview - Top Tips When Preparing for a Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
You don't! Let the person call you whatever they want to. He or she may call you Mr. Smith. They are running the interview. Remember, jobs are tough, just play along. I know that this is not a major request, but it just may give a wrong impression of you. At the end of the interview, if it seems like you have the job, then you can say something. This is a crazy world, something as simple as a nickname could ruin it for you. Take nothing for granted. Good Luck!

5 Helpful Rules to Successful Job Interviewing

  • Personally, I wouldn't introduce it as this point. It's not really appropraite. Stay professional and keep on topic. Of all things to introduce, your nickname shouldn't be one of them. That is something you introduce on the first day of work, not at an interview.

I go by a nickname as well (Like...if my name were Jessica, I would go by Jess), but I still go by my "full" name in all interviews. Of all the jobs I've had, I've had no problem letting them know that I prefer my nickname. Really - it's not a huge deal once you get hired.

  • Hello Sir/Ma'm, my name is joseph but most people call me joey. Im here for the Denny's Interview..........Thank You Very Much!

  • hi, my name is joseph but you can just call me Joey

  • Shake the interviewers hand and introduce yourself as Joey

or "Hi, i'm Joey.. nice to meet you"

How to Ace a Nursing Job Interview

  • It really depends on the number of applicants they had for the job. If there were 20 applicants, it shouldn't take long. If there were 50 applicants, it will likely take some time as the school narrows down their choices. A lot depends on the experience of the applicants. If you haven't heard anything thing in a few weeks, a return visit or phone call would be appropriate. Good luck in getting the job!

  • Since school vacation is over soon, I'd say not long.

Job Interview Questions: How should I prepare for a job interview?

I'm going in for an interview at a movie rental store, and I'm wondering what I should do to prepare for it.

Is it necessary to dress formally for such a small-scale job interview?

Also, what etiquette should I follow?

Interview Questions - Discover the Secrets of Answering Any Job Interview Question Easily

Recommended Answer:
Many interviewers use a technique called behavioral interviewing. This means that they will be looking for you to provide specific examples that speak to the situation, the action you took and the result.

The best way to prep for this is to think of some different examples of times when you:

- Gave outstanding customer service.
- Turned around an upset customer.
- Were asked to implement a company policy.
- Went above and beyond your current role.

Those should help get you started.

The prior answer is correct about dress. Business casual (slacks/skirt, collared shirt, polishable shoes) is always a safe bet.

Good luck in the interview!

4 Tips For Having the Most Success With Your Job Interview

  • Hi...

The rule of thumb is that you dress one or two levels higher than the job that you're going for.

    career-advice.monster.com/job-int…

  • First hygiene is very important. Second wear a nice pair of pants no blue jeans and a nice shirt no t shirt. In a job class the teacher said to dress above the job when going for an interview. If it's a video rental store they most likely won't ask any gottcha questions. What I mean is what are your weaknesses? Get to the store about 10 min before your scheduled interview. Go into the store say Hello I'm ( your name )and tell them you have an interview with (the person's name) at the time set up. Do what they tell you to do from there

  • It is always safe to be overdressed than under dressed for an interview. You want to give the impression that you are serious and want the job. Dressing casually gives the impression that you don't care. Be sure to shake hands with the interviewer and make eye contact. Also prepare for common interview questions such as: What are your strengths and weaknesses? Tell me about yourself? etc.. But, the best thing that you can do is have confidence. Practice your questions ahead of time so you feel confident and are not full of anxiety. Good luck on your interview.

  • You should be Physically and mentally prepared.. and Ask god to guide you and help you.. That's the best preparation..
