Job Interview Questions: What should I wear for a job interview at target?

Like the title says.Im just gonna be on the sales floor.

Answer Job Interview Questions & Score Big

Recommended Answer:
It doesn't matter the position you are applying for. You always dress to impress. You do not have to wear a suit and tie but it would not hurt your interview to do so. I would wear slacks, khakis, or dockers, a clean solid colored button down shirt, and shoes. Do not match the color of your clothes to Targets red and white unless your applying for the position of a clown. Other pointers, do not chew gum but breath mints are great. a little bit of cologne, do not over do it. Remember your appearance represents your work ethic. A professional appearance matters on a sales floor. Good Luck....

Tips For Facing a Job Interview

  • People generally advise you to dress up at least two levels higher than the current job for which you are appearing. It will create a good first impression. For professional and senior management positions, a suit, with a tie and dress shoes is quite suitable.
For clerical positions interviews, it is reasonable to wear long sleeved shirt with a collar, and nice pair of dress pants. Formal hard soled shoes will be fine.
The general rule is to opt for conservative shades and designs. Bright checked shirts, loud colored blouses, and odd designed dresses are not to be worn at all.

  • Rule of thumb: always dress better than what you'll be wearing for the position. But in general, if it's an interview, just show up in nice formal clothing to make a good impression, and to let them know you are serious about the job. In this particular case, although a suit is not a necessity, you can pull it off with a nice long-sleeve button down shirt, slacks, and a pair of black or brown shoes (not sneakers). Good luck!

  • Well since I dont know if you are male or female..

Id dress as if you were going to a non formal wedding if you were a guy..no jeans..if you wear sneakers, clean them. No saggy pants! No piercings showing

Women - no jeans, no sneakers, NOT a lot of makeup..a pant or skirt suit is best

  • Don't wear a cap. Keep your mouth shut if your teeth aint so good. Try and flirt with the interviewers (but not like a REAL hussy, just let them know your available.)

  • make a good first impression.. wear a pencil skirt with a bright top and a pair of nice heels.. it won't hurt to accessorize well.. but don't over do it..

  • you should wear bright red and white to match with the store. or a polo and khaki boot cut pants.

  • a dress

Job Interview Questions: Is it ok to wear jeans at a job interview?

the job interview is at chuck e cheese, im a guy, 17 and needs advice haha

Preparing For the Perfect Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
It's OK to wear clean, nice jeans to an interview for a fast food place (and Chuck E Cheese IS fast food). You must avoid jeans that don't fit, that are torn, and you must avoid sagging (jeans fitting below the natural waistline). At the very least, wear a polo shirt.

If you want to make a better impression and have a better chance at the job, though, wear khakis at least, and possibly slacks. Wear a buttoned woven (not knit) shirt with a collar. And make sure to bring a couple of working pens, so that you can fill out forms.

Why Being Interviewed First Can Mean "Last" in a Job Interview

    • Depends on the employer. At a place like Chuck-E-Cheese, it should be fine.

    • I think it would be fine for Chuck E Cheese. The trick to dressing for an interview isn't dressing up but dressing appropriately for the job that you want. It is possible to over dress for an interview.

    • That depends on the employer or the kind of job you're seeking for..

But as you have further explained, it is ok for chuk e cheese. It is hope that this answered your question. Thanks

    • It depends on what job you want if you want to be a doctor or a lawyer you should wear a suit and tie.But mainly jeans are not formal for a job interview good luck

    • I always have this idea that format dress is good but if jeans make you feel more confident
then there is no problem with it. After all its all about confidence.

    • Whatever the place is - you should never wear jeans.
Think about it - if they are seeing loads of people who are all the same you will stick out the most if you are looking smart and professional in nice trousers and smart shirt- whatever the job no matter what it is.. go smart

    • Not even at Chuck E Cheese.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I'm 17 and i'm interviewing at a little family owned cheese shop. I worked at Subway until I quit on Monday, and I just wore khaki pants to that interview, but I felt like I was overdressed. Would jeans be okay or should I dress it up a little anyways?

    Lethal Job Interview Mistakes

    Recommended Answer:
Just dress smart but casual. You don't want to be going in a business woman's suit, yet you don't want to be going in sweat pants and a baggy top.

I recommend that you wear a nice casual t-shirt and some Cotton pants or plain jeans that have know holes or dark or light patches in for the fashion. You want to look professional yet easy and nice to work and get on with.

Also make-up is important if you normally wear it. Don't go in with make up on like your going to a party, go for the natural look for example skin tone foundation, light lip gloss or lipstick and light shades of eye shadow.

    Hope I helped.

Job Interviews - How to Ace a Telephone Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Provided this job is a "career" job and not just a job you'll hold until something better comes along, ask the following:

What is the average longevity of the employees there? Is there much turn-over?
How much, if any, overtime is required/expected? (Let them know that you don't mind OT)
What, if any, retirement and benefits plans are offered?
What is the starting salary range? Negotiate the final pay after the initial offer is made, but don't get greedy. Know what you what to earn. If they offer that (or even more), take it. Don't assume that they are low-balling you if they're offering a fair compensation package. Don't be afraid to ask for them to consider paying you more if they offer you less than you feel you deserve.
What are the opportunities for advancement? (Let's them know you're interested in growing with the company and intend to stay)

To the guy who said not to ask how much you'll earn, that is just INSANE not to ask!! No one should ever take a job without knowing how much they'll earn. Employers expect you to ask if they don't offer the information up front.

The Two 'Toughest' Job Interview Questions

    • What are there principles, philosophies/rules. the history of the company, bt keep it short and simple, Good luck thou, i hope you get that job.

    • ask what you can do to make the working environment better than it already is, ask what your responsibilities are, DO NOT ASK HOW MUCH YOU ARE GOING TO BE GETTING PAID UNTIL YOU HAVE WORKED THERE FOR AWHILE.

    • Change the logo of your company to impress 'em.

Job Interview Questions: How to Act During a Job Interview?

I know this will seem silly, but this is only my second job to have. My first job was given to me by a family member's mother, lol.

I'm a college student and generally don't dress to kill just to go to two or three classes and come home. I have an interview at the local Wal*Mart tomorrow. How should I act? What should I wear?

Thank you so much for taking time to read this! :)

I interviewed there once. I wore black pants, black heeled granny boots, and a button down sweater. I did get the job, but I turned it down. They were very hazy about the shifts. When I asked which shift it would be, they said I had to work whichever shift they wanted. So it could have been day, then overnight, then night, etc. I wanted a solid schedule.

Job Interview Questions: Can i go to a job interview on sabbath day?

would i be trangressing Gods law if i went to a job interview i have scheduled for tomorrow at 12:00? the way i look at it, its not really working, just going to talk, i told God i dont wanna break his commandments anymore, what do you guys think? sin or not sin?

How to Prepare For a Job Interview - Preparing For a Good Job

      • You wouldn't be transgressing God's law anyway, you'd be breaking Saint Augustine's. He's the one that decided to make a law requiring people to go to church on Sunday, and the practice originated with him.

He made an exception for farmers who needed to work their land on Sunday, explaining that the "bounty of heaven" would be lost otherwise. The same rationale has been applied to emergency workers and other people, and situations where not working on Sunday would cause harm or destruction.

Rome's laws no longer apply to us. However, if you are trying to abide by that law, then this my advice:

If you did not schedule the interview deliberately for Sunday, or you did schedule it but could not schedule it for any other day, then you did not break the law. Same thing if your boss schedules you for a Sunday; not working on a Sunday just to make a point would cost your employer a day's work and you your job, and would benefit no one. In any of those situations, the "bounty of heaven" would be lost, so do what you have to do on Sundays and know that you are a-okay with the Lord. And with St. Augustine too.

Ethically speaking though, if there is no good reason for you to work on Sundays, you would be wrong not to bring up your needing Sundays off with your interviewer tomorrow. Church on Sundays was a Law, after all. There's sensible exceptions, and then there's taking advantage of loopholes, and it's usually pretty obvious which one is which.

      • Matt 12 : 5 Or have ye not read in the law, hom that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profare the sabbath, and are blameless

Matt 12 : 6 But I say unto you. That in this place is one greater than the temple

        =====

God won't angry with you. Do the interview job for your future. Show your regrets. Because Matt 12 : 8 says : For the son of man is lord even of the sabbath days

      • You are not a party to the old covenant law. That law of God was for the Israelites only. God's law for Christians is about the spirit of the law sans the letter (Rom 7:6).

Paul stated that the OC law is not of faith, and that anything that is not of faith is sin. If you believe you have to keep any of the OC letter of the law, you sin under the new covenant. You violate faith.

        .

      • If it bothers you to work on the Sabbath why would you schedule a job interview for the Sabbath in the first place? Personally I would not, I try not to even answer the phone when I know or suspect it is work related.

      • Exodus 35:2- God demands the death of those who work on the Sabbath day.

Well, you better make sure your interviewer isn't a Catholic baiting you into a death trap (it's happened before)

      • Go just GO GO GO dont u dare decide not to go. This is crazy you could be throwing away a job interview because you dont wanna make "god" angery that is insane you need to go

      • dont break it.

      • "i told God i dont wanna break his commandments anymore"

Well praise the Lord! God is well pleased when we seek to follow Him who loves us!

"would i be trangressing Gods law if i went to a job interview i have scheduled for tomorrow at 12:00? the way i look at it, its not really working"

Isn't the other person who is interviewing you working? I think we would agree yes. Also how could you witness to such a person then? Also Exodus 20:8-11 says even our manservants (helpers) should not do secular work. It would be breaking God's law, and also putting something ahead of time with God.

Think about it also this way, if you reschedule, the other employee may not have to come in and work on the Sabbath!

I highly recommend that you call them and reschedule. Simply explain your belief. No company would dare say "well we can't hire you then because you can't be interviewed on Saturday". They could get sued for discrimination, and it's also against the law. You'll find that if you follow God, He will bless you. So don't worry, God will open the door. In fact God may only allow you to get the job if you choose not to violate the Sabbath.

Also 12:00... uh.... my brother what time does your church end? :) You don't want to be sneaking out of church when the preacher is finishing his sermon so you can drive to a place of employment. Right? :) :)

Hope that helps! Remember that God will take care of you if you put Him first.

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?' or ‘What shall we drink?' or ‘What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. ~ Matthew 6:31-33

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. ~ Revelation 22:14

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. ~ James 1:2-4

      • Here's what you fail to realize... Christ fulfilled the Law. If you don't have time to read 2 Corinthians 3, make time, it's really short, but it addresses this exact issue. Romans, Galatians, and the Ephesians should also help you. But let me tell you why:

Every man ever in existence has sinned against a Holy God, with the exception of Christ (1 Peter 2:20-25), whom is God (John 1:1-14, Colossians 1:13-17, Hebrews 1:8, Revelation 1:7-18). Every man, both great and small, both rich and poor -- all have sinned. Do you know what the Law says about those who commit a sin worthy of death? "And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance." -- Deuteronomy 21:22-23

Jesus Christ, God incarnate, the Son of God the Father; the Creator of heaven and earth was accursed by His own Father. It was God that took our stead, that took our place on that tree. God sent His only begotten Son (God the Son) to die for our sake. "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." -- Galatians 3:13-14

Having faith in Christ is the only way a person can attain righteousness. For it is by faith that the righteousness of Christ is imputed unto us (Romans 4:4-6, Romans 4:20-24). And it is by grace through faith that we are saved, not of our own works (Ephesians 2:8-9). The only way we can inherit the kingdom of God is to be born again. Being born again is a complete, and supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, of God working in, and through you. One of the many evidences of someone's faith is that they will bear good fruit. Not the fruit of your own flesh, but the fruit of the Spirit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." -- Galatians 5:22-23

People typically confuse the grace of God, and think, because we are no longer under the Law (2 Corinthians 3, Romans, Galatians, and Ephesians) that we can still act in carnality. But what they fail to realize is that the evidence that you've been saved is that the Holy Spirit of God is working in and through you. How can someone filled with the Holy Spirit of God lead a life full of carnality? Is the Holy Spirit of God carnal? God forbid. When you are born again, you will walk in the newness of life, and of the Spirit -- not in the oldness of which once was.

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." -- Romans 6:3-6

Job Interview Questions: How Do I Introduce My Nickname In A Job Interview?

I have an interview at a Denny's on Thursday and I was just wondering how I go about introducing my nickname in a job interview.

My real name is Joseph but my nickname is Joey. I really want to do it in the interview because if not it's going to be harder if I get hired. Thank you.

Job Interview - Top Tips When Preparing for a Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
You don't! Let the person call you whatever they want to. He or she may call you Mr. Smith. They are running the interview. Remember, jobs are tough, just play along. I know that this is not a major request, but it just may give a wrong impression of you. At the end of the interview, if it seems like you have the job, then you can say something. This is a crazy world, something as simple as a nickname could ruin it for you. Take nothing for granted. Good Luck!

5 Helpful Rules to Successful Job Interviewing

      • Personally, I wouldn't introduce it as this point. It's not really appropraite. Stay professional and keep on topic. Of all things to introduce, your nickname shouldn't be one of them. That is something you introduce on the first day of work, not at an interview.

I go by a nickname as well (Like...if my name were Jessica, I would go by Jess), but I still go by my "full" name in all interviews. Of all the jobs I've had, I've had no problem letting them know that I prefer my nickname. Really - it's not a huge deal once you get hired.

      • Hello Sir/Ma'm, my name is joseph but most people call me joey. Im here for the Denny's Interview..........Thank You Very Much!

      • hi, my name is joseph but you can just call me Joey

      • Shake the interviewers hand and introduce yourself as Joey

or "Hi, i'm Joey.. nice to meet you"

Job Interview Questions: What do they ask in a job interview?

I want to know what type of stuff they ask in a job interview

How To Prepare For A Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
If you submitted a resume, a lot of the questions they ask will be about the stuff you've written down on your resume. They'll probably also ask you some questions about their companies (so be sure to do some prior research on the company's background, what they do, their goals, etc before coming to the interview). They'll also want to see if you have the right skillsets for the job (so be sure you know what the job description entails for the job you're apllying for, and be certain that you have the experience or at least the knowledge to perform those duties well if hired). They'll also try to get to know something more about your personality to see if you are a good fit with the current team. Good luck. And remember, this is when the saying "You Only Get One Chance To Make A Good Impression" couldn't be more true, so make sure you're dressed to impress (wear something appropriate for the job). And always remember to send a thank you letter/email to them after the interview (preferably the next day). You will hear back from them if they're interested in bringing you on board. Otherwise, there's very little chance you'll be hearing from them again. If you don't hear from them after 2 days from the time you interviewed, that's a bad sign....you probably didn't get the job. If for some reason they called you and told you that you didn't get the job, you might consider sending another thank you letter/email to thank them for getting back to you. That shows character. There's a good chance they may call you up when they have another job they like to fill.

Job Interview Preparation - Guide and Advice to Help You Prepare for a Job Interview

      • It kind of depends on the industry you are applying for. I usually work in food service/retail so there are all kinds of questions from general to specific. Usually they will inquire about your past work experience, how you handle stress, "what would you do in this scenerio" type of thing. They also may ask you to tell them a little about yourself, what your expectations for the job are, what salary you would like to make, etc.

In my experience, it just depends on the interview. Sometimes they will tell you on the spot, other times you have to wait for a call back. They usually will tell you when to expect a call if they don't tell you right away.

Hope this helps! & Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: How should I prepare for a job interview?

I'm going in for an interview at a movie rental store, and I'm wondering what I should do to prepare for it.

Is it necessary to dress formally for such a small-scale job interview?

Also, what etiquette should I follow?

Interview Questions - Discover the Secrets of Answering Any Job Interview Question Easily

      Recommended Answer:
Many interviewers use a technique called behavioral interviewing. This means that they will be looking for you to provide specific examples that speak to the situation, the action you took and the result.

The best way to prep for this is to think of some different examples of times when you:

      - Gave outstanding customer service.
      - Turned around an upset customer.
      - Were asked to implement a company policy.
      - Went above and beyond your current role.

Those should help get you started.

The prior answer is correct about dress. Business casual (slacks/skirt, collared shirt, polishable shoes) is always a safe bet.

      Good luck in the interview!

4 Tips For Having the Most Success With Your Job Interview

      • Hi...

The rule of thumb is that you dress one or two levels higher than the job that you're going for.

        career-advice.monster.com/job-int…

      • First hygiene is very important. Second wear a nice pair of pants no blue jeans and a nice shirt no t shirt. In a job class the teacher said to dress above the job when going for an interview. If it's a video rental store they most likely won't ask any gottcha questions. What I mean is what are your weaknesses? Get to the store about 10 min before your scheduled interview. Go into the store say Hello I'm ( your name )and tell them you have an interview with (the person's name) at the time set up. Do what they tell you to do from there

      • It is always safe to be overdressed than under dressed for an interview. You want to give the impression that you are serious and want the job. Dressing casually gives the impression that you don't care. Be sure to shake hands with the interviewer and make eye contact. Also prepare for common interview questions such as: What are your strengths and weaknesses? Tell me about yourself? etc.. But, the best thing that you can do is have confidence. Practice your questions ahead of time so you feel confident and are not full of anxiety. Good luck on your interview.

      • You should be Physically and mentally prepared.. and Ask god to guide you and help you.. That's the best preparation..
