Job Interview Questions: How do I land this job? Interview on Monday!?

I have an interview at subway on Monday. I honestly need this job. What should I do to nail this job, first job, first interview, first application and everything.

Five Powerful Body Language Tips to Ace Your Next Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
First of all, dress to impress. Usually, you would dress to fit the type of work you would be doing everyday. A nice ironed, pair of dress slacks and a white or other solid colored shirt is usually a good call. Never wear jeans, T shirts, excessive jewelery, makeup, perfume, and make sure that your fingernails and hair are neat, clean and styled. For a male, a tie isn't necessary, however a shirt with a collar will likely score you a couple of points. Dressing well indicates that you are maticulous about your appearance and will likely exhibit the same behavior at work.

When it comes to the actual interview, you should always arrive ON TIME. Maybe even ten minutes early. This tells the prospective employer that you are punctual and responsible.

It is expected that you will be nervous during the question portion of the interview. Try not to be, and make a few practice runs by yourself before the interview. Answer all questions honestly, and try to play up your strengths, since this is your first job interview. For example, if you are on the honor roll, mention that. If you have volunteered in the past, mention that.

This should help you through. Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I'm 17 and i'm interviewing at a little family owned cheese shop. I worked at Subway until I quit on Monday, and I just wore khaki pants to that interview, but I felt like I was overdressed. Would jeans be okay or should I dress it up a little anyways?

Lethal Job Interview Mistakes

Recommended Answer:
Just dress smart but casual. You don't want to be going in a business woman's suit, yet you don't want to be going in sweat pants and a baggy top.

I recommend that you wear a nice casual t-shirt and some Cotton pants or plain jeans that have know holes or dark or light patches in for the fashion. You want to look professional yet easy and nice to work and get on with.

Also make-up is important if you normally wear it. Don't go in with make up on like your going to a party, go for the natural look for example skin tone foundation, light lip gloss or lipstick and light shades of eye shadow.

Hope I helped.

Tough question No. 6: "Tell me about the worst boss you ever had."
Suggested answer: "While none of my past bosses were awful, there are some who taught me more than others did. I've definitely learned what types of management styles I work with the best."

Tough question No. 7: How would others describe you?
Suggested answer: "My former colleagues have said that I'm easy to do business with and that I always hit the ground running with new projects. I have more specific feedback with me, if you'd like to take a look at it."

Tough question No. 9: "If you could choose any company to work for, where would you go?" Suggested answer: "I wouldn't have applied for this position if I didn't sincerely want to work with your organization." Continue with specific examples of why you respect the company with which you are interviewing and why you'll be a good fit.

    Tell me about yourself. www.gowrikumar.com/interview/inde…
"I was born in Canton, Ohio and attended Lincoln High School. Ever since I was a teenager, I tinkered with computers. It was my hobby, my passion, and my way of learning. Like most kids I enjoyed computer games. When my folks gave me a computer as a reward for making honor roll my sophomore year, I mastered DOS, Windows, and WordPerfect within six months. I then went on to teach myself programming basics.
By the time I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to study programming. From that point on, everything fell into place. My life revolved around computing. By my junior year at Syracuse, I decided I wanted to work for a major software manufacturer. That is why I had an internship last summer at FastTrack Software.
I now want to work for a major player so I can be at the forefront of breaking trends and new technology. When my college roommate told me about his start in your department, I hounded him until he helped me get a referral, which brought me here today.
I am prepared to answer any questions you may have about my education and experience."Where do you see yourself five years from now?
"In five years I hope to be working with an employer in an increasingly responsible position, that enables me to utilize my talents and work closely with my colleagues in solving important problems. I see myself taking on new and exciting challenges in an enjoyable environment and hopefully this will be with your company."

We all have weaknesses. What are some of your major weaknesses?
"I have a real weakness for chocolate that tends to go right to my waist! I'm watching my calories carefully these days!" or "I've never been good with accounting. I'm glad this job doesn't involve accounting." Or "I have a tendency to take on too much on my own. I am working on this by delegating more."

What type of decisions do you have difficulty making?"I sometimes have difficulty choosing between two equally good ideas

What's your dream job?"My dream job would include all of the responsibilities and duties in this position you're trying to fill
    What are your strengths?
"My strengths are my communication skills. As a result of this I'm able to work well with technical and non technical individuals because I'm able to convey my messages precisely. and I can usually win people over to my point of view. Also, I have good judgment about people and an intuitive sense of their talents and their ability to contribute to a given problem.

Tell me about a time you didn't perform to your capabilities.
"The first time I had to give a presentation to our board, I failed to anticipate some of their questions. I was unprepared for anything other than what I wanted to report. Now my director and I brainstorm all the what-ifs in advance."

How do you regroup when things haven't gone as planned?
"I start by trying to imagine the worst possible outcome; then I back up and identify precautions I can take to avoid that scenario. In this way I usually end up with a result close to the original goal. The training example I described earlier is proof of that skill."

How do you manage your work week and make realistic deadlines?
"I always reserve two hours of dead time every day to handle any unanticipated problems that may occur. I used to plan for eight or nine hours of project time, but now I find that I'm able to manage my own projects, as well as whatever my boss and staff need from me."

What personal skill or work habit have you struggled to improve?
"I had to learn to say no. I used to be helpful to the point that other staff abused my goodwill. Now I offer to help by countering with something I'd like help on in return. On balance I believe the trade-off is more equitable, and cooperation in our office has improved over time."

Job Interviews - How to Ace a Telephone Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
Provided this job is a "career" job and not just a job you'll hold until something better comes along, ask the following:

What is the average longevity of the employees there? Is there much turn-over?
How much, if any, overtime is required/expected? (Let them know that you don't mind OT)
What, if any, retirement and benefits plans are offered?
What is the starting salary range? Negotiate the final pay after the initial offer is made, but don't get greedy. Know what you what to earn. If they offer that (or even more), take it. Don't assume that they are low-balling you if they're offering a fair compensation package. Don't be afraid to ask for them to consider paying you more if they offer you less than you feel you deserve.
What are the opportunities for advancement? (Let's them know you're interested in growing with the company and intend to stay)

To the guy who said not to ask how much you'll earn, that is just INSANE not to ask!! No one should ever take a job without knowing how much they'll earn. Employers expect you to ask if they don't offer the information up front.

The Two 'Toughest' Job Interview Questions

      • What are there principles, philosophies/rules. the history of the company, bt keep it short and simple, Good luck thou, i hope you get that job.

      • ask what you can do to make the working environment better than it already is, ask what your responsibilities are, DO NOT ASK HOW MUCH YOU ARE GOING TO BE GETTING PAID UNTIL YOU HAVE WORKED THERE FOR AWHILE.

      • Change the logo of your company to impress 'em.

Job Interview Questions: What to expect on a first job interview?

I'm 16, and I have my first job interview in about three hours.
I applied for Meijer's as a bagger/cart-fetcher. I already know what I'm going to wear - a nice top, some black pants, and casual shoes.

I just don't know what to expect. Should I bring anything? What types of questions will they ask? Should I know anything really important?

      Thanks in advance.

      World's Best Job Interview Tips

      Recommended Answer:
You are already doing the right things...make a good first impression... smile and shake hands like you do it all the time, say thank you for seeing me. Have a couple of questions ready for them..they always ask you at the end and hardly anyone remembers what they wanted to know. They are going to ask why you think you are the right person for the job...so be prepared with a good answer. Tell them why you would be a happy worker and how nice it will be for their customers to see you happy in your job. They will ask what you have been doing... so have some things to talk about... even if they are helping out at home or friends... no one wants to employ lazy people who do nothing.

      Best of luck.

Job Interview Motivation - Five Secrets To Getting Jazzed About The Interview

      • I think if you are nicely dressed it has a huge positive impression.
Be polite, which I am sure you will be.
        DON'T CHEW GUM!
        Sit up straight.
Bring a small notepad and two pens (one if the other malfunctions) in case you have to take some notes.
It's possible they will ask you for references, so it would be good if you had one or two. You need to ask people first if they will consent to be a reference for you. You need their names, addresses, phone numbers. Have adults as references, not your friends.
If you don't have this, and it's too late to dig this information up, then don't worry about it, you can get it later.
Let the interviewer take the lead.

They may ask you, "why do you want to work for our company," so contemplate an answer. Such as, it seems a pleasant place to work. or, I've been here many times shopping, and I like the people here and I would like to work here too. something along those lines.

Basically what they are looking for are young people who can be responsible, show up to work consistently on time, who will be respectful and helpful to their customers, and who can work well with the other employees. If the interviewer asks you what qualities you have that would qualify you for this job, say those, at least: that you are responsible and that you enjoy being helpful to others. Something along those lines.

Don't pretend to be something you aren't, and don't lay it on so thick to where your answers are baloney. Just be honest.

An important thing that you need to know is when can you start. If you can start today, then say that. If you can't start for two more days, then say that. Be definite.
