    Preparing For Job Interviews

    Recommended Answer:
For that type of interview you probably don't need a full dress suit. But you do want to look neat and clean. Perhaps a pair of black Dockers and a button down shirt, no sneakers.

For your interview, be sure to give a good firm handshake. Make eye contact with the person(s) you're talking to. And even though you're nervous try to smile a little. Be sure to say "thank you" on your way out. It can also be appropriate to send a thank you note (e-mail is fine if you have the address).

Job Interview Questions: Should I go to this job interview?

I have a second job interview later today, but I'm not sure whether I should go or not.

I know it's a sales job, but if I get there and find out it's door-to-door sales then that's it for me, I don't believe in door selling.

But the interviewer did say I'd have administration training and that I'd sometimes be working with a team of up to 90 people, which makes me think it's not door selling.

    Is it worth going?

I assume that this is a young lady. You could put on a long shirt with a nice belt (a skinny one), if you have it; add jewelery and a nice bag. Be sure to pay close attention to hygiene. Make sure that your hair is presentable, (flat iron works well). Always look directly in the eyes of the person you are talking to, and very important, shake their hand beginning and end. Good Luck!!! From Mrs Taylor of Mrs Taylor's Tea House.

Job Interviews Questions - To Ask Or Not to Ask

      • A little advice: Get a pair of black pants. Ask your parents to help. Jeans just look unprofessional. And don't go overboard with this crazy personality. Keep calm and be honest and be professional, but excited and ready to work.

      • just go out and buy a pair of black slacks.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview Soon, Proper Clothing?

Later on today I have a job interview at the library and I've just realized that I do not own a pair of khakis or dress pants. But, I do own a nice pair of khaki shorts along with a nice, white button-up collared shirt. Would that hurt my chances at getting the job if I wear these shorts?

Knowing Some Job Interview Tips and Questions

      Recommended Answer:
Yes, you will hurt your chances! Better to run a buy an inexpensive pair, or pick up a pair at a second-hand store than wear shorts, in my opinion.

Here's a rule of thumb that I use to tell interviewees: look at what folks in that workplace are wearing, and step it up a little for the interview. If folks at the library are wearing shorts or jeans, you want to wear khakis. If they're wearing khakis, wear dress pants. If they're wearing dress pants, wear a suit.

Hope this helps, and good luck! If you really just don't have time or any way around it, go with the shorts, and keep your confidence up! They may not appreciate what you're wearing, but you can still self yourself with your confidence.

How to Deliver a Clever Answer to Job Interview Questions

      • Ooh, shorts look unprofessional.
You should just run to Walmart or a cheap store to get some khaki or black pants.

      • Go out and get a cheap pair of dress or khaki pants. Shorts dont look that appropriate.

Job Interview Guide - Some Tips to Ace Your Job Interview

      • I interviewed for an entry-level position at a technology company one time. The office was in another city, and I got caught in major traffic, so I ended up being right on time (instead of a few minutes early), because the building itself was in a hidden location on a one-way street.

I parked across the street and walked to the back door of the building as instructed by a sign on the front door. A lady answers the door, and she has no idea who I am. Turns out I was supposed to be knocking on the door on the building next door, so the person to interview me had to be called to meet me halfway, so I'd find my way to the other building's entrance. Awkward!

While I was back there behind that building, I noticed a parking lot I hadn't noticed from the street and realized that I was parked in another company's parking lot. So, of course, then I had to ask if I was parked in an OK spot, and she told me that I needed to move my car. Awkward again!

The interview itself was not that bad, except for that it was extremely short. Extremely. Like, 15 minutes short, and that's not because I didn't expound on anything. She asked me two questions (although they were essentially the same question, just worded differently), and then briefly explained the job responsibilities and pay...and then I was out of the door. No application. No paperwork. No grand tour of the facilities. Nothing. That, in itself, was awkward.

Not surprisingly, I was not offered a job there. LOL.

      • I had an interview at a restaurant. They lost my application, and it was awkward from then on. I told him what job I would want, hes like ohhh well we prefer people with more experience....

He said I look nervous. He kept telling me alot of people from my school work here, and if I knew them.

I was like No I don't know any of them.

Obviously didn't get the job! Lol.
