Job Interview Questions: I have group job interview at Pier 1, what should I expect?

My interview is on Thursday and they told me that it was a Group Interview. I don't really know what to expect because I have never been to one before. Thanks for everyone's help! :)

Preparing For Job Interviews

Recommended Answer:
Don't know anything about Pier1 ...except that it's a furniture store I think..

But I do know a couple things about group interviews. I had one, and I bombed it. Obviously, you have to stand out. This is the time to whore yourself out as much as possible. Be respectful & give others the space to talk too. You have to be witty, funny, and leave a lasting impression.

Be the first one and make a little chit-chat with the interviewer.

Smile a lot.

Get ready to do a good sales pitch, be convincing & smooth. Don't make it too long cause customers will get tired of hearing you talk too much.

Brush your teeth.

    Preparing For Job Interviews

For that type of interview you probably don't need a full dress suit. But you do want to look neat and clean. Perhaps a pair of black Dockers and a button down shirt, no sneakers.

For your interview, be sure to give a good firm handshake. Make eye contact with the person(s) you're talking to. And even though you're nervous try to smile a little. Be sure to say "thank you" on your way out. It can also be appropriate to send a thank you note (e-mail is fine if you have the address).

Job Interview Questions: How long should I wait after a job interview before I call them and ask about the job?

It has been a week since the interview and I know I did not get the job. A few people have told me that it is MY responsibility to call them but I think it is indecent to string people along like this-I am sure they informed the person who got hired so why not do the right thing and call the others? Anyway, how long should I wait before I pathetically call and ask about the job?

Will What You Wear for a Job Interview Help You Pass the 2 Minute Test?

        Recommended Answer:
you should be able to call on a 'follow up' to see if a decision has been made for the

job you applied for...........within 5/7 business days....should be able to do this twice

without its being a problem....after that I wouldnt do it/they can contact you/they have your

        info....

and you're right, but seldom is that done anymore/you are not given that courtesy; they have found

that certain people cant handle the info given in the call and will under stress, go crackers......and

they dont want to be the cause of it,directly.

Guide to a Successful Job Interview

        • maybe you should get some self respect and stop saying things like " how long should I wait before I pathetically call and ask about the job"

        • Wait a few more days, then call and ask if they have come to a desision yet. Don't demand anything though

        • Just relax and be yourself. Ans. the interviewers questions the best you know how. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. It's a good place to work for. Just think of them as,
"Disney World". They are looking for friendly people who are Well Groomed, good natured, honest, trustworthy, hard working, self starter. Just remember 'Guest' service' is their #1Goal. . You will be fine. I've worked for them for several years. They are good people. You will be recognized if you show them you are willing to learn all aspects of the job. It really is a great place to work! Good luck and smile but. don't be over zealous.
