Job Interview Questions: Job interview questions?

I have a group job interview coming up for a sales assistant position in Retail. Can anybody think of any questions I can have prepared just incase? Something I can ask the interviewer about the job, I can't really think of anything good. Any ideas?

10 Job Interview Mistakes to Avoid

    Recommended Answer:
A lot depends on what kind of retail enviroment and product/s it is, but here are some broad suggestions.

    1. Tell them you're interested in being an excellent saleperson, not just a good one. What would be their definition of an excellent salesperson in the context of this business?
    2. Ask them to tell you more about the history and philosophy of the business. But do your own homework on this beforehand as much as you can. Best question is one where you raise a point you've researched, and ask them to explain it.
    3. What are the things they believe would prohibit you from doing the best you can in the role?
    4. Tell them you think understanding the customer is very important, so can they tell you about who would be a good example of a valuable customer? A typical customer?

Job Interview Questions: Missed call for job interview. Do I still have a chance?

I submitted an application for a job on Wednesday and received a call for an interview on Friday. They wanted to interview me by phone on Monday. Unfortunately, I was very busy during my shift at work when the call came in on my cell phone, so I didn't see the missed call until after 5:00 PM that day. Have I lost all hopes of getting this job, or is it worthwhile to call the interview first thing Monday to apologize and reiterate my interest? What should I say?

10 Job Interview Mistakes to Avoid

      Recommended Answer:
In the future, it would be best to call back when you do get the missed call, on Friday night in this case. It's fine to miss a call (in fact, saying that you couldn't take it because you were committed to your work should be seen as a good thing for a future employer), but you need to follow up on it quickly.

You should call today and leave a message indicating your interest, apologizing that you weren't able to answer the call on Friday, and say what times you would be available on Monday to have this phone interview. In your message, also state that you will call Monday morning to finalize plans for the phone interview.

Then on Monday morning, you can call again, and they'll hopefully be ready to move forward.

Job Interview Tips That Will Land You Your Dream Job

      • Call first thing monday morning and reiterate your interest. Explain that you missed the call and did not realize it until after 5pm. If they left a message tell them you received the message and you are returning their call. If they left a name ask to speak to that person. Good Luck

      • Sorry, but if you can't even make an interview appointment you won't get the job.

      • Call first thing Monday, Explain that you were at work and could not take the time, then make an appointment.

      • adding to what PaulRN said, that would show ur dedicated but be ready next time they call!!

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview, Went OKAY, Did Not Say They Would Call?

I just had a job interview. They had 2 people interviewing me, it was the whole good cop bad cop situation. They asked me 6 questions and then said okay thank you that's all for today. Didn't say they would call or anything. Any thoughts??

Tips For Job Interviews - Information You Need to Know

      Recommended Answer:
      Hi Devin,

Aren't employers inconsiderate jerks these days? They think because there's so many people out there looking for jobs that they can be as rude and disrespectful as they want and get away with it.
They'll say, "I'll call you tomorrow and set up an interview with you" and then we'll wait by the phone all day long only to realize they lied and aren't going to call.
They'll have you jump through hoops to get a job only to drop you like yesterdays trash without any explanation whatsoever.
Employers are truly at their worst right now and are the saddest excuse for human beings we have slithering around among us.

I honestly think it means their not interested, sorry. If you call them and ask them about your hiring status they'll probably get pissed and blow you off.

Job Interviews -- The Four Worst Objections You'll Face and How to Deal with Them

      • Means absolutely "sheet".
But it will cost you nothing if you will call them instead.
        1. if they give you a polite answer, like "we will notify you if is the case", then hold your breath.
        2. if they say "is already filled", then you move to another opportunity.
        3. if they say "can you come for a second interview", then you are lucky.

Anyway, maybe the person who is really in charge (and they want that opinion too) is not at the location, or they want to open a project in a month or two and there is no rush, and so on.
Next time you ask them about the time frame they have, ok?

Wear something professional or business casual. If you have a suit, wear it. If you don't have a suit, wear slacks and a blouse (button-up, or something professional looking).

Do not wear a sundress, jeans, or cute skirt. Highly inappropriate.

Wear your hair down and classic.

Job Interview Questions: What is the best way to conceal a tattoo on fingers and hands for a job interview.?

I have an interview at walmart and I dont know thier tattoo policy and don't want to risk it. I am also a pretty dark black male.

How To Prepare For A Job Interview

        Recommended Answer:
I think it would be best to ask. What happens if you get the job, and they see the tattoos and have a policy against them? They would have the right to fire you on the spot, tattoos aren't covered in anti-discrimination laws. Best to ask first.

How to Prepare For a Job Interview - Preparing For a Good Job

        • Just how visible are they? If you are dark skinned and the tattoos are dark also, then the interviewer may not make note of them at first glance. I don't think the tattoo policy is particularly strict at Wal-Mart--I've noticed several employees with tats/piercings that other companies would not allow. Don't try too hard to conceal them and if the interviewer mentions anything about it, tell them you are willing to wear some kind of glove to conceal them.

        • Hey!

Depending on the quantity you have on your fingers, i would recommend band aids.

This might seem silly, but in hindsight, all this could be to somebody is a cut or graze. As i said, this would only work banking on the fact you have a small amount on your fingers.

          Hope i have helped!

          Jake

        • I have seen employees at the Wal-Mart in my town with neck and finger tattoos. I am sure you will be fine, but if you want to be sure you can go to the drugstore and get some cheap foundation/concealer that is similar to your skin tone.

        • Just do your very best to make a lot of eye contact and do not look at your hands. Keep your hands away from your face when you are talking and hope they don't notice them.

        • Use foundation/concealer that you'd normally wear on your face. :)

Job Interview Questions: Help me out with a job interview problem?

How classy is too classy to be dressed? I'm interviewing at a Regal theatre for what could potentially be my first job, and I'm dying to get it. I normally wear shirt dresses, pea coats, and bowler hats in my daily life, but I'm thinking maybe it would be too much. Can anyone give me suggestions that I could pull out of my closet tonight?
(The interview is tomorrow at 1PM.)

Also, I have two healing cigarette burns, one on each wrist. If I put a band-aid over each, will the interviewer notice or ask questions? What do you guys think?

        Recommended Answer:
legally an interviewer (due to ADA issues) cannot ask about the burns, so I recommend a flesh colored bandage.

The bowler hat would detract from the interview. Dress nicely and remember to focus on what you can do for them on the job.

Job Interview - 4 Ways to See Yourself as Job Interviewers Do

        • I would just dress how you normally dress, don't even worry about it

        • Well, for one, I would leave the bowler hat at home. A shirt dress sounds fine though, minus the pea coat unless it's cold out.

As for the burns on your wrists....that's a whole other problem isn't it? You could wear long sleeves but flesh colored band-aids should hide them. What happened? Did you burn yourself or did someone else do it? Either way, you need help.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview at Fast Food Restaurant?

I am going for a job interview at a fast food restaurant in the next few days and I am wondering what happens when you get there. Everybody is saying to get there 15 minutes early. If I do get there 15 minutes early what happens? Do I go in and ask a cashier for the manager? Or do I wait until the exact time and then go ask the cashier? Or will the interviewer come out and ask for me? I really don't know what to expect!

        Recommended Answer:
Don't get there 15 minutes early. I worked at a fast food place and had an interview there. I just got there 3 minutes early, went up to the cashier, but theres usually a manager hanging around the counter anyway so they were expecting me and just said hi to me, led me to where you sit and eat and we had the interview there. Seriously don't even worry about it- as long as you smile and dont look unhygienic they'll hire you.

        • Go there and let the manager know you're there. He/she will come out when theyr'e ready.

Just go in anyways, give it a shot.
        Chances are you'll get hired.
They hire pretty much anyone (but that doesn't mean you're going be actually getting hours)

For instance, I got hired and I ended up working 3 times total, in the span of 4 months.
my gorgeous friend who hooked me up with the job, works twice a week every week,
my other two friends who were hired months ago still didn't even start working yet.

Regarding questions - be curious about how the company runs, so for example ask:-
            (1) How many deliveries per week do they get?
            (2) Is all the stock delivered from a central warehouse? Where is that? Or from different suppliers?
            (3) How often do they have a stocktake?
            (4) What are the bestsellers?
One question usually leads to another, if they ask why you're asking - you're just interested.
