Job Interview Questions: What should I wear for my first job interview?

I'm 16. I have an interview on Wednesday at Winners and I don't know what would be appropriate to wear. I do not own any black pants or really dressy kind of tops. I was thinking something along the lines of dark skinny jeans, a tank top with a black cardigan and flats and natural makeup. Would that be too casual?
Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

5 Simple Rules for A Great Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Basically you want to come looking decent & well groomed to show you care enough about getting the job that you put effort into getting prepared. It sounds fine to wear dark skinny jeans, but make sure they are really dark, because lightwashed will come off looking too "weekend casual". The top sounds good just make sure to wear a cardigan with the tank top. Flats sound good too! Try not to wear anything that will distract from you as a future employee. No loud colors or makeup or obnoxious accessories, etc. Be yourself. Don't be nervous. And good luck! :)

The Values That You Should Have in a Job Interview

  • You should wear dress pants or a skirt and a nice top.
But if you do not have that, then what you picked out should be fine.

What you have lined up is fine, but since you will be the face of the film school when somebody comes in you should wear a business attire. After you get the job, what you lined up is fine.

Job Interview Questions: Is it okay to wear jeans and a nice shirt to a job interview?

If it helps, the job is a graphic design job.

I think I'd still look presentable, I'm just not sure what other people would think

Top 7 Ways to Prepare For a Successful Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
No, in general people doing interviews have completely pointless expectations and will prejudge a person based upon the simplest item of clothing that doesnt fit their expectations especially in fields where your generally expected to work within an office environment. Interviewers as a general rule within corporations expect the whole shirt, tie and suit trousers look and whilst they may be willing to let you work in jeans after getting the job as far as interviews go you are expected to look like you made an effort for them and quite simply in today's world jeans and a shirt would not send that message, how you dress for an interview tells them about your character (at least they in general as far as corporations go think it does) it tells them about your work ethic and your attitude in general.

Jeans are a relaxed look they send the message of effortlessness and not the message of proffessionalism that a suit and tie clearly sends out.

Secrets to Answering Job Interview Questions About Your Weaknesses

  • Visit the place where you seek employment around lunch time or quitting time. Take note of how most of the employees are dressed. Dress yourself for the interview one step above what you have observed in the average employee.

  • NO!
I uses to hire and anybody coming to an interview in jeans didn't get the job, regardless of qualifications.

  • NO!!!!

  • eh, maybe. itd be safer to wear khakis tho.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview Wants Me To Bring ID and SS Card, Will Any Of The Following Be Accepted Instead?

I don't have my ID but I have my SS card. I also have a passport, a birth cirtificate, a school ID and a drivers permit. Will any of those be okay or should I cancel the interview? It's like 3 days away so going to the DMV to get one won't do much for this situation as they typically take a week or so to mail it.

Job Interview Success - How to Go After Your Dream Job

Recommended Answer:
The first answer is right. All employers are required to complete a form I-9 to validate you're legally able to work in the US. Below is a link to the form and it shows the identifications required - passport works just fine. If a driver license is required for some other purpose (driving for the company) you can probably use the DMV receipt until the actual license arrives.

What is Your Worst Job Interview Weakness?

  • Passport is a more acceptable than any other ID. Passport should be fine unless the job requirements involve you driving company vehicles or being on the road.

Job Interview Questions: Horrible job interview- how long is a job interview supposed to be?

I was really nervous at my job interview I was shaking and I couldn't smile that much. I am really shy and bad at job interviews and I feel horrible because I feel like I screwed that one up. How long is a job interview supposed to be?

Top 7 Ways to Prepare For a Successful Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Try not to feel horrible - think of it as a learning experience and move on to the next one. The length can vary depending on the job and what qualifications they are looking for. You need help to overcome your shyness. Is there a close friend or family member that you could do some practice interviews with? I used to be very shy also and overcame it just by getting out in the world and working my first job as a waitress. I remember being terrified at first! One trick that may help you in an interview is to "pretend" that you are confident, it's all an acting job. Before you know it you will start feeling that way. Another thing that helps is to know that many times the interviewers are nervous also! Conducting interview also takes skill and practice. They have all been on the other side of the desk a few times, so many are understanding about you being nervous. What should I expect and what would the interviewer expect of me?

Got Through First Job Interview? Now Win the Second Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Be yourself and do your "homework"... have a good answer for why you want to work there and why you chose them. Dress as best as you can because they expect to see you at your best. Practice in the mirror (I know that sounds so silly, but it works) . Dont rush when answering a question, its ok to take time to think about the right answer. Use life experience for examples of things - such as something that happened in school if they ask you stuff like "How would you deal with a difficult customer" . Good luck !

Job Interview Skills: Four Critical Mistakes to Avoid!

  • They'll probably just ask you common sense type questions and some experiences you've had like tell me when you had to work in a group and what was the result. Questions like that, it probably won't be anything too tough just be yourself and answer honestly and you'll be fine.

  • The interviewer will know that you (and many others) have little or no experience, so don't be concerned about that. They may ask if you know anything about the area you are applying for (warehouse, sales floor). Just be honest, and if you want the job, be sure to ask (at the end of the interview) what the next step is - do you contact them or vice versa and when and who do you speak to when you contact them
