Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I have a job interview tomorrow at the university I will be attending next fall. I will be a freshman and this will hopefully be my first job. I forgot to ask the lady what my job would be, so I don't know what exactly I should wear. Should I go professional? Or semi-casual? Like jeans with a nice blouse? Please help? I have it tomorrow and don't know what to wear!!!!

Job Interview Techniques to Land Your Dream Job

GCFLearnFree.org has free tutorials on how to prepare for interviews: www.gcflearnfree.org/interviewski… It includes instructional text, informational graphics, examples, and even interactives for you to practice what you've learned/actually apply what you've learned. It discusses what you should wear to an interview and what questions you can anticipate being asked.

It's best to wear professional clothes to an interview, even if the attire you would wear during employment is much more casual. Something fitting for an office environment, so dress slacks, dress shoes, a nice blouse, tasteful jewelry, clean, neat hair and general clean and tidy appearance

If you need additional help for things like writing a resume or job searching, there are tutorials for that as well: www.gcflearnfree.org/career

Hope it helps and Good Luck!

Job Interview Questions: When is an acceptable time to follow-up after a job interview?

I had an interview for the position of ophthalmic technician today. It sounds pretty promising and it genuinely sounds like my interviewers really liked me and are really considering me. They said they would talk with the other technicians in the office and come to a decision soon. They didn't give me a specific time-frame...just soon. I didn't wanna be pushy by asking "how soon?". How long should I wait before I follow up and inquire about their hiring decision?

    Recommended Answer:
If they are as enthusiastic about you as they seem to have been, you'll hear back in a week. After a week, call them to follow up on your interview and ask if there was any other information they needed from you. Some places are just kind of disorganized so it may take them a few days to a week to get around to talking to everyone.

Job Interview Questions: How many references should you include on your reference sheet (job interview)?

Hi all. I have an interview for a computer networking job next Monday. I am curious, on a reference sheet how many references should be included? I've worked 3 other jobs (2 technical, 1 non technical) and I have references from both as well as college professor references. What is the best number to include on my reference sheet?

      Job Interview Tips For Success

      Recommended Answer:
If it is for a resume I always put "references upon request", you don't need them on your resume. But if it is asked on an application I always put three. I would only put job references because they can vouch for your actually work, as where college professors can only vouch for your "assignments". Hope this helps and good luck with the interview! I am a manger and have been on many job interviews, so this is what I look for and what I've found the interviewer was looking for as well.

Advice on Having a Successful Job Interview

      • references upon request is fine. Usually 3 references is the ideal

      • i think you must include the technical one
because you are going for a computer networking job.

Job Interview Questions: Help, important job interview in 45 mins. Can a mens facial hair chin strap and mustache be professional?

My husband has several important job interviews over the next few days, the jobs are double and triple his previous income. Is a chin strap with a mustache considered professional for a managerial position with a loan company?

Will You Be Ready For Your Next Job Interview?

      Recommended Answer:
Definitely. It should help him look experienced. If it's a problem and the job is really that good, the company will let him know their policy on facial hair.

Any interviewer that is so shallow to pass on someone with a neat facial hair style (not a lazy bum type beard), is not worth working for.

Job Interview Tips You Can Use to Ace the Interview and Land the Job

      Recommended Answer:
Through my lifetime I have had a wide variety of different jobs so you can see that I do very well at interviews. These are some of the things I find convince potential employers to hire you:1. Be completely natural. People often think that they must behave in a manner that calls back to the days of the aristocracy that will only make you come off as stuffy and employers will view you as being "fake" or a fraud. Using phrases such as "yeah, man!" or "fer sure!" and even "Dude!" can often make the employer feel connected to you on a more personal level. Use things of that sort.

      2. Don't over-dress. It will only make you uncomfortable and it can often distract you from the actual interview. Do you know the managers favorite band? You would wear a t-shirt of that band! Not only would it be a conversation point but the manager will see you have things is common. But, this could work with nearly any band (This also ties in with the above tip.)

      3. If you are nervous about the interview, chew gum. It has been found in studies that the chewing releases chemicals in the brain that calm you down. So, chew gum during the so that you can relax and come across as a natural!

      Good luck!!
