Job Interview Questions: Following-up a job interview at a frozen yogurt shop?

I applied at a frozen yogurt shop and went in for an interview last Friday (Jan 21). She seemed really interested in me and was really going into detail about the job, and then said she'd call "the beginning of next week." I have been anxiously waiting by my phone, and still no call. How soon would be too early to give a follow-up call to check my application status? Any advice on what to say?

Illegal Job Interview Questions and How to Handle Them

Recommended Answer:
well its already the end of the week. perhaps friday morning call in (less likely to be busy than in the evening). get the hiring manager on the phone and introduce yourself, then ask somethign like, "I went in for an interview last Friday and I was wondering if the position had been filled." if they chose to go with someone else, ask if there was any reason they could give you as to why you were not hired. it could shed some light on things for the next interview. but most likely the position was already given to another person so dont get your hopes up. they usually call when they say they will, but only call the person they are hiring.

Job Interview Questions: When is an acceptable time to follow-up after a job interview?

I had an interview for the position of ophthalmic technician today. It sounds pretty promising and it genuinely sounds like my interviewers really liked me and are really considering me. They said they would talk with the other technicians in the office and come to a decision soon. They didn't give me a specific time-frame...just soon. I didn't wanna be pushy by asking "how soon?". How long should I wait before I follow up and inquire about their hiring decision?

    Recommended Answer:
If they are as enthusiastic about you as they seem to have been, you'll hear back in a week. After a week, call them to follow up on your interview and ask if there was any other information they needed from you. Some places are just kind of disorganized so it may take them a few days to a week to get around to talking to everyone.

Job Interview Questions: What should I say for this job interview question?

What should I say in this job interview?
I'm a 16 year old girl and I applied for a job at a clothing store.
The store mainly provides clothes for women who are 30+ years old.
So anyway, I have an interview this weekend and I'm not sure exactly what I should say if they ask the question
"Why do you want to work here?"

      Job Interview Mistakes!

      Recommended Answer:
Okay the followings are the questions asked in my recent job interview.
      * Tell me a little bit about your self (in general)
      * Please tell me about your work experience and elaborate your tasks in great details if possible
      * What makes you apply for this job?
      * How do you measure up to the criteria written on our job ads?
      * Tell me about your availability, how many hours do you expect to work in a week?
      * Where do you see yourself in 5 yrs time?
      * What quality can you bring into this organization?
      * What are your strengths and weaknesses?
      * Have you worked in a similar role as the role advertised?

These are some of the questions that may be asked during the interviews.

Here are my answers to the questions:

My name is X, I am XX years and I have been living in country Y for 20 years, my hobbies are fishing, swimming and dancing and etc. etc.

I have worked previously as a salesperson at company Z which specialise in providing B goods to consumers. Some of my tasks were to serve customers, merchandise goods and writing sales report to my manager. I did very well in my last job, infact i was the top salesperson. Unfortunately i had to leave the job because of family reasons.

These are answers to the first 2 questions.

Good luck and take a good care of yourself

A Guide to the Most Evil Job Interview Questions

      • "Why do you want to work here?" is usually a question that a prospective employer asks in order to asses two things, one is whether you will fit the culture and the other is to see if you did advance research. Look up the company and find out what their core values are and see how well you fit their culture. It is a win-win answer for you. If you fit the culture, then you'll know how to reply, if you don't then you wouldn't want to work there anyways. It should have nothing to do with who the merchandise is marketed to (in this case 30+ women). Your answer should have something to do with the philosophy of the company, such as they are innovative, progressive, self-governing, or whatever.

      • The words "cart" and "horse" are spinning around in my mind here: surely you knew that before you applied, and probably answered the question in your CV, cover letter or job application form?

If you don't know why, and are looking to invent a reason, then you are already at a loss to other applicants who do want that job at that shop: there are lots of hungry people out there at present! If you made a "just a job" application, that will tell in interview.

The answer is research. Read about their company, that shop, your geography (ie: market); and where you want to be when you are 25+? Retail is about people engagement, marketing and detail: so what is it about them that appeals to you, and what they will add to your skill sets in those areas? Do they have a great training programme, or excellent marketing? Have you or your friends/Mums friends been there, what did they like?

Don't make this mistake again - research the companies before applying and know what appeals/why you are applying.

        Good Luck!

      • Try the truth is better than anything you could make up,when all is said and done i sure they don't want someone who pretends to want to work there because they need someone who,and will work at their job and help raise the sales not someone who is going to get bored very quick etc the truth will win out everytime, and if your going to lie about that how can they trust you to handle money and customers, you need to make them feel that they need you more than the next person be yourself, dress accordingly adbe polite at all times

      • Tell them you why you want to work there. Something like I wish to learn about business, dealing with people, and how to sell. You also know that since this is your first job that you will learn a lot from a number of different people. You are also looking forward to having a store full of clothes to make selections from for other people. I hope this helps. Good luck.

      • You should say something like.....I would like the oppritunity to learn about fashion, and to provide great customer service, which is something that is missing in the shopping expirence....shopping for clothes should be fun and not stressful

      • Tell them the truth, Why do you want to work their. Come up with a list of 4 or 5 good reason. Such as.

You are located close to where I live or from my school.
        I like your merchandise
I like dealing with women who want to look nice.

      -Are you good with people?
-How would you handle an upset customer?
-Do you pay attention to detail?
-What do you know about the company?
-What interested you in applying here?
      -Are you good at multi-tasking?
      -What hours are you available?

Like the other person said, show up dressed neatly. You don't have to be wearing your Sunday best, but don't wear a T-shirt and flip flops either.

Preparing Your Interview Questions and Answers - A 6 Step Guide to Successful Job Interviewing

      • Dress neatly. You will probably have to fill out an application so write legibly. They will ask about any job experience, if you have reliable transportation (if it's not within walking distance). They may ask why you want this job. A good answer would be that you needed to start making some money and you like being around people and you follow the movies. If the job is with concession, for example, they may ask if you are willing to do any other assigned job when needed (like sweep the floors or clean the theater.) Be flexible and eager to learn anything.
