Job Interview Questions: Following-up a job interview at a frozen yogurt shop?

I applied at a frozen yogurt shop and went in for an interview last Friday (Jan 21). She seemed really interested in me and was really going into detail about the job, and then said she'd call "the beginning of next week." I have been anxiously waiting by my phone, and still no call. How soon would be too early to give a follow-up call to check my application status? Any advice on what to say?

Illegal Job Interview Questions and How to Handle Them

Recommended Answer:
well its already the end of the week. perhaps friday morning call in (less likely to be busy than in the evening). get the hiring manager on the phone and introduce yourself, then ask somethign like, "I went in for an interview last Friday and I was wondering if the position had been filled." if they chose to go with someone else, ask if there was any reason they could give you as to why you were not hired. it could shed some light on things for the next interview. but most likely the position was already given to another person so dont get your hopes up. they usually call when they say they will, but only call the person they are hiring.

Job Interview Questions: How does the psychopath pull off a job interview?

If you took that literally, then the joke answer would be "By killing the employer" but i'm serious. How do psychopaths get a job for a successful powerful position? There supposed to be compulsive people! I use manipulating as a skill and don't really need it for interviews because I'm attractive and I give off superficial charm but how does the psychopath do it?

    • There is no need to fret because you surely could pull off a good and impressive job interview. Here are some practical guidelines to help you.

      1. Be genuinely friendly and warm. you could pretend you are talking to an old friend who you really respect much. This way, the employer could feel your sincerity. However, be reminded not to be too comfortable.
      2. Listen to the interviewer. Get some hint: Employers still love to talk much about themselves. You could get amazed and surprised how the interview could turn out to be a friendly discussion where the employer opens up to you. Go with the flow and allow him to speak.
      3. Address the interviewer by his name. Employers love the sound of their name. Do not forget to use courtesy addresses, though.
      4. Compliment the interviewer. Doing so could make him feel more important. However, be careful not to go beyond the boundary of insincere flattering.

Do not forget to say ‘Thank you' as sincerely as you could. Indeed, you should be thankful the interviewer spent time talking to you and giving you a shot for the job opportunity. Shake hands as you do so. Do not forget to make a firm handshake.

    • Psychopaths are master manipulators. They are known for being charming and being able to use their social skills to suit their purposes.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview at urban outfitters?

I have a job interview there tomorrow! I'm soooo nervous. I've had a year's experience in retail and I would really love to have a job here instead of anywhere else available so how can I make a good impression? I'm not really worried about the dressing option - I already have a nice outfit in mind. I'm just nervous. What kind of questions do they ask other than the standard "why do you want to work here, why would you be an ideal employee, etc"? tips please!

Job Interview Questions: What are good questions to ask at an job interview?

In the next few days i have a interview with a well known bank. I've read that is good to ask questions about the company when the interviewer ask if you have any questions, but am not sure what to ask. Any ideas on what good questions are?
      Thanks

      Job Interview Mistakes!

      Recommended Answer:
The reason interviewers like candidates to ask questions is that it's an indicator of the candidate's genuine interest in the job, as well as their level of preparation for the interview.

No questions can mean low interest in the job and company.

Poor questions can mean a low level of preparation.

So, read up on the company. Go through their website, which will have lots of information on their products, management, and customer service channels. It should also have their latest annual report, which shows how the company wants to present their results to the public.

Then get on Google news and look at the recent press on the bank.

Get a sense of how they are doing competitively. Are they launching new products? Innovative servicing? Expanding their branch network, or cutting back? Are they facing specific challenges that you'd like to know more about? When you get a sense of how they are doing, their strategies, and their challenges, then you have the basis for an interesting set of questions.

Questions can also be specific to the role for which you are interviewing. You may want to know which other departments you would be dealing with. You may want to know about training programs available to new hires, etc.

I'm not going to give you the questions, but if you do the prep described above, you'll be more prepared for the interview, and you'll generate your own questions.

      Good luck!

Some things I can think of:

-Do you consider yourself to be punctual?
-Do you miss a lot of school (I/E 'If I hire you, will you be calling in every other day?')
-Do you have any previous work experience?
-Are there any skills you've learned at school that could be applied here?
        -Are you good with people?
-How would you handle an upset customer?

        -Are you good at multi-tasking?
        -What hours are you available?
-How flexible is your schedule? Are there activities that you are involved with that will limit when we can schedule you?
-What do you expect to get from this job?
-How quickly can you learn new skills?
-How long to you plan on staying here?

Like the other person said, show up dressed neatly. You don't have to be wearing your Sunday best, but don't wear a T-shirt and flip flops either.

Preparing Your Interview Questions and Answers - A 6 Step Guide to Successful Job Interviewing

        • Dress neatly. You will probably have to fill out an application so write legibly. They will ask about any job experience, if you have reliable transportation (if it's not within walking distance). They may ask why you want this job. A good answer would be that you needed to start making some money and you like being around people and you follow the movies. If the job is with concession, for example, they may ask if you are willing to do any other assigned job when needed (like sweep the floors or clean the theater.) Be flexible and eager to learn anything.

Job Interview Questions: How would you know if you passed a job interview?

I just had a job interview today. I answered all the questions she asked. Then we had a little small talk. She then told me I would get a call around the 17 of this month (June). She said they got to do a background check to make sure I don't got a bench warrant, unpaid tickets, etc. Then she started talking about the pay and what she can offer and also the hours she can offer. Does this mean I'm about to land a job?? What are signs that you'll know you'll get hired?

Job Interview Advice - How to Properly Prepare for a Job Interview and Get Hired

        • Prepare for the worst, expect the best.

Don't derail your job search, but don't commit yourself to anything else. Prepare your personal life to start a job.

None of those things in the interview are unexpected for any of the applicants. She had the same conversation with whomever they chose to go to the next level of hiring. And none of those things commit them to hire you.

          Good luck

        • Id say all the signs are in the talk. If youu two were very confortable, very warm when talking, id say youu got the job.
