Job Interview Questions: Following-up a job interview at a frozen yogurt shop?

I applied at a frozen yogurt shop and went in for an interview last Friday (Jan 21). She seemed really interested in me and was really going into detail about the job, and then said she'd call "the beginning of next week." I have been anxiously waiting by my phone, and still no call. How soon would be too early to give a follow-up call to check my application status? Any advice on what to say?

Illegal Job Interview Questions and How to Handle Them

    Recommended Answer:
well its already the end of the week. perhaps friday morning call in (less likely to be busy than in the evening). get the hiring manager on the phone and introduce yourself, then ask somethign like, "I went in for an interview last Friday and I was wondering if the position had been filled." if they chose to go with someone else, ask if there was any reason they could give you as to why you were not hired. it could shed some light on things for the next interview. but most likely the position was already given to another person so dont get your hopes up. they usually call when they say they will, but only call the person they are hiring.

Job Interview Questions: What was your worst job interview?

What was your worst job interview experience?

Mine include driving way out of my way only to be told they weren't hiring students, even though it says right there on my resume that I'm a student. Another time the guy hardly paid a second's worth of attention to me and was not even friendly or polite at all; it was just weird.

Job Interview Tips - 5 Essentials to Do the Day Before the Interview

      • An interview for covert security operative in a five star hotel, after the interview I got talking to a girl who was staying at the hotel, we got loaded and retired to her room ordering room service drinks. We both got wasted and were having a laugh and a half, when in the early hours I got ejected by the very guy whom had interviewed me for being too noisy.I never did get that job !

      • I was interviewed/hired to work in a video store that presented itself as "classic and unusual." It turned out to be a front for a major porn collection not to mention they made "movies" in the basement. I interviewed and learned the register for 2 hours until they told me that I could hold cue cards for future movies. I didn't know they had dialog in porn...

      • I had a phone interview once but, I didn't pay my phone bill and the service was cut off without me knowing so, I woke up early prepared and waited for the call and then about a half hour later realized my phone wasn't going to be accepting any calls. Epic fail.

Job Interview Tips You Can Use to Ace the Interview and Land the Job

      Recommended Answer:
Through my lifetime I have had a wide variety of different jobs so you can see that I do very well at interviews. These are some of the things I find convince potential employers to hire you:1. Be completely natural. People often think that they must behave in a manner that calls back to the days of the aristocracy that will only make you come off as stuffy and employers will view you as being "fake" or a fraud. Using phrases such as "yeah, man!" or "fer sure!" and even "Dude!" can often make the employer feel connected to you on a more personal level. Use things of that sort.

      2. Don't over-dress. It will only make you uncomfortable and it can often distract you from the actual interview. Do you know the managers favorite band? You would wear a t-shirt of that band! Not only would it be a conversation point but the manager will see you have things is common. But, this could work with nearly any band (This also ties in with the above tip.)

      3. If you are nervous about the interview, chew gum. It has been found in studies that the chewing releases chemicals in the brain that calm you down. So, chew gum during the so that you can relax and come across as a natural!

      Good luck!!

Job Interview Questions: How do I go on a job interview if I work from 8 to 5 full time?

I just got my first full-time job but it pays really lousy. I work full-time 8 to 5 pm. I'm applying for my dream job which will be much higher in pay. So what do I do when they call to set up an interview? Do I explain that I am working full time? Could I make it on a Saturday or is that a big no-no?

      What should I do?

Job Interview Help - Some Things That Might Help You Ace Your Job Interview

      • When you're called for an interview let them know that you are still working and find out if they have any availability to meet with you during your lunch break. If it's not close to your work for you to meet during your lunch break then see if you can arrange for a time before you go into work or first thing in the morning so you can go before work.

You may have to make an excuse with your current job and let them know that you're not feeling well on the day you have your interview. If you're current job doesn't ask for a doctor's note then you can say you have a dentist or doctor's appointment.

Just keep it professional with the new company you'll be interviewing for and ask them their availability. If their business is open on the weekends then it might be fine but most companies won't interview over the weekend so you shouldn't ask that if you already know that their business isn't open.

Don't divulge too much info. with the company you want to work for about how you got out of work at your current job and never bring it up in the interview. They don't ask so don't offer up the info.

If you feel like you have a chance to get this new position then just call out sick.

Good luck! I hope you get your dream job! :)

      • When they ring, ask for a saturday interview, if they offer them. Most people don't.

Otherwise, explaining to the interviewer that you work full time won't help you with the interview.

What I would is ask for a Saturday, if that is not available, then make a time for the interview and arrange to take some time off from work.

Call in sick, if necessary.. everybody does it.
        Good luck
        *s*

      • Perhaps by the time an interview is scheduled, a good reputation on your present job should allow time enough to make the appointment. Your present employer need not know the reason for the time off request unless it is required. Meanwhile, a promotion where you are is an option. Dream jobs are out there, but the bills keep coming...

      • Fill out a leave of absence sheet. As a working adult also applying for jobs, you MUST go to this interview. Get out of work early and go to an interview in the early afternoon. You'd only miss a few hours of work so it won't hurt ur already low pay. Go for it! Good luck

      • You just have to lie a little. That's what I'd do. Or take half day off. I'd tell them that I need more time after lunch so that I can go to the bank and that I'd be back as soon as I can. Stuff like that.

      • Say you have a doctor's appointment. You don't have to miss a whole day of work.

      • ah ah ah---chooooo!

        don't you feel fluish?

        call in sick...

-What do you know about the company?
-What interested you in applying here?
      -Are you good at multi-tasking?

Preparing Your Interview Questions and Answers - A 6 Step Guide to Successful Job Interviewing

      • Dress neatly. You will probably have to fill out an application so write legibly. They will ask about any job experience, if you have reliable transportation (if it's not within walking distance). They may ask why you want this job. A good answer would be that you needed to start making some money and you like being around people and you follow the movies. If the job is with concession, for example, they may ask if you are willing to do any other assigned job when needed (like sweep the floors or clean the theater.) Be flexible and eager to learn anything.
