Job Interview Questions: Is it appropriate to send a follow up email after an in person job interview?

Should I send one? What should it say? I was thinking something along the lines of thanks again for the opportunity and if you have any more questions in regards to my qualifications I'd be happy to answer them. What do you think?

How to Ensure You Fail Your Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Yes it is a good idea and is actually a positive thing. I read a lot today about doing them because I wasn't sure. I will do one 99% of the time unless I am not interested in the job or I know I blew the interview badly.
You can say what you said and maybe say something about the position. For ex "It sounds like both an interesting and challenging position which I feel I would be qualified for..." something like that. If they told you about the company mention something about it that you like without sounding like you are sucking up too much. :)
You can google combinations of "follow up email for interview" or some sort of wording like that and find examples and ideas.
Good luck

The Job Interview - Basic Strategies and Tactics

  • Maybe whip off an email immediately after the interview and follow it up with a snail mail note reiterating your skills, etc. I'm still in the stone age, I know, but a note on paper is probably unusual these days, and might make you stand out.

  • it would be much better if u send a follow up email. the HR tend to think that u enthusiastic about the job. when he chose the best candidate, u have a higher chance since u have leaved an impressive image on him.

  • can't hurt.

Job Interview Questions: What to say when cold calling a hiring manager for a job interview?

I was told by some people that after submitting a resume and application for a position that you should call up the hiring manager, or whoever else is in charge or applications, and as them if you could come in for an interview. But I don't know how to go about doing something like that over the phone, can someone give me some advice on what to say when I call? If I can get a sense of what to say I think I can make a good impression.

What To Wear On A Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
call & ask to speak to the manager. make sure you greet whoever answers the phone & sound very professional. ask them how they are doing before you ask to speak to the manager, so they can put in a good word incase the manager asks. once the manager picks up, greet them as well. introduce yourself & tell them you are calling to follow up on a resume/application you submitted on [date you submitted] the conversation should go from there. if they arent in, leave a message with your name & number ofcourse. but either way, try callin back again. hope this helps!

Job Interview Skills - 9 Things You Should Never Do in an Interview

  • My advice is this: don't call. If they're interested, they will call you and extend an offer for an interview. They have a job they are trying to do, and cannot take away from their time to constantly answer the phone for candidates who want an interview.

Be patient and just keep applying in the meantime. Good luck.

  • if they to interview you, they will call you - for any actual job openings, they will only interview the top 2-4 applicants - even if there were 100 applications

if there is NO current openings, then they are not going to interview anyone

Job Interview Questions: What kind of questions are at a Macys Job Interview??? HELP?

I'm interviewing for retail support, on call. Tthis is my first job interview. What sort of questions will they ask me? What should I wear? How important is this interview really?

Please, someone who has worked at Macys before help me.

Job Interviewing Tips

Recommended Answer:
They ask standard questions such as -

When have you worked as part of a team to achieve goals?

When have you excelled as an individual to go above and beyond for a customer?

When have you improved upon an existing process to make it more effective?

Tell me about a time when you have had to overcome a difficult situation with a colleague or customer?

How would you describe yourself in terms of your strengths and weaknesses?

Best thing to do is dress smart, be friendly, make good eye contact and rehearse questions they'll likely ask you. Look at the job you applied for and imagine yourself doing it on a day to day basis and imagine some of the situations you'd be in - what type of skills do you think they'll want to test you on? Are you confident, outgoing and smart? If it comes across that you are then you'll own the interview,

....and make sure you ask a few questions at the end so they know you're interested. Ask them what sort of training you'll receive, and also ask about how McD's tries to reinforce it's reputation for excellent customer and product focus.

Try to be natural, and dont let your nerves control you.

Good luck :-)

Job Interview Training For Managers - Will's Story

  • You need to dress nice & in black (the Macys dress code). the biggest thing they focus on is SELLING. How do you do that--suggest add on related items (a tie is they are buying a shirt) and opening charge cards. They really did not ask me much of anything.

Job Interview Questions: What can i expect from my walmart job interview?

i have a interview tonight for my first job working at walmart so i was wondering what all should i bring and what can i expcet them to ask me? it would help alot if you have or do work there. its to be a cashier by the way.

How to Pass a Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
They're going to ask you things like this:

"Name a time when you faced adversity and overcame it."
"Name a time when you worked successfully with a group."
"When is it OK to break the rules?"

They will probably not ask you anything regarding money, customer service, or anything that actually pertains to a cashier's job. Instead, they're just looking for ways to help them sift through the pile of applications. Just answer coherently and you'll be fine. As I recall, you'll need your ID, but I think that's all. Oh, and you'll also need to do a drug screening right after the offer to hire.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to my first job interview?

I am sixteen and have my first interview in two days. Its at McDonald's, so nothing to fancy. I wasn't sure what I should wear. I could use some extra opinions. My interview is also right after school, so I won't have time to change before then.

Ways to Hugely Boost Your Job Interview Success Rate

    Recommended Answer:
regardless of what anyone else says, do NOT wear jeans. find yourself a nice knee length skirt or a pair of dress pants that are not too tight. wear it with a nicer top that covers your boobs, and has at least a cap sleeve. if you are going to wear heels for shoes, make sure they are shorter heels, and dont look remotely hookerish.

yeah yeah i know its just mcdonalds, but first impressions count for a lot when you are applying for a job. wouldnt it suck if you turned up in jeans and got the one manager who was a complete dick about dress codes and wrote you off simply because you couldnt be arsed to wear something other than what you would wear to school on a normal day?

ive seen it happen. i used to work at a food place. and it was a small restaurant so if there was an interview going on, you could usually see/hear it. people who turned up in jeans never got the job.

Job Interview Advice - Dos and Don'ts For Your Big Day

    Recommended Answer:
Hi there, I worked in McDonalds for a while.

Wear smart clothes - Black trousers and a shirt (If your a guy).

Aim to arrive around 10 minutes early. On entering approach the counter and say "Hi I'm (name) and I've got an interview at (time)." They will probably then ask you to ake a seat while you wait for the interviewer.

The interview will most likely be held in the actual restaurant seating area, however, it will probably be quiet either way don't let potential customers put you off.

They will ask you questions on team work, working under pressure, working with customers etc. Just be yourself and answer honestly, they will be looking for answers such as:

"I enjoy working within a team"
"I enjoy working in a fast paced environment"
"I aim to provide excellent customer service etc"

Questions to ask: What training is provided? What are the progression prospects? What is the average day here at work like?

    Good Luck!

Also remember to stay calm, smile, be interested at all time and show enthusiasm for the job.
