Job Interview Questions: If 9 out of 10 Panelists of A Job Interview Are From UCLA and Most of the Applicants Are From UCLA?

I had a "group" panel interview and I am pretty sure I gave (at least) the 2nd best answers. but then most of the internship applicants are from UCLA, while 9 out of 10 of the panelists graduated from UCLA. I didn't get picked, and I'm from B.C. Do you think it's because they are more comfortable working with interns who graduated from their alma mater?

Recommended Answer:
No, a lot of UCLA graduates don't like UCLA.

Discriminatory Job Interview Questions to Avoid

    Recommended Answer:
I would tell the interviewer that generally companies have a line of command that they follow and that an employee can have only one supervisor, Otherwise, it creates confusion in the work place. Therefore, should I encounter the scenario that you described, I would immediately stop working on my supervisor's priority assignment, go to my supervisor's office and inform him about his manager's priority assignment. I would give him the assignment, then ask, what would you like for me to do?

An example of a last minute assignment for me would be having to give a 5-7 minute speech at a local Toastmasters Club when the designated speaker doesn't show up. I am never unprepared for anything that comes up at the last minute. You can only work on 1-priority task at a time, therefore, ever changing priorities would be re-prioritized based on urgency.

How to Prepare for a Successful Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
Wear dress pants and a nice shirt. Maybe shoes like the ones they sell also would be a nice touch, but not if you have to go out and buy a pair (might be too obvious). For an interview in retail they will want to know how well you relate to customers. They will most likely ask you questions about customer service, like how you would handle certain situations. You will want to convey that you like working with people and will give them excellent customer service. Be friendly and have a positive attitude. Show them that you are motivated and eager to work. Job Interview Questions: What should I expect during the phone test portion of my job interview?

I have a job interview coming up for a large national insurance agency. I was informed that I am going to be tested on my phone skills for at least a half an hour during the interview; my interviewer is going to pretend to be a customer and I am going to be the customer service rep.

I have never worked in the insurance industry before and I have no idea what kind of questions the "customer" is going to ask me. Has anybody been through this process before, and if so, what kind of questions were you asked?
