Emphasize your customer service skills and answer each interview question from the point of view of someone who wants to make the company/office look as good as possible. A receptionist is the client's first impression of an office; they want that impression to be good.

Discriminatory Job Interview Questions to Avoid

Recommended Answer:
I would tell the interviewer that generally companies have a line of command that they follow and that an employee can have only one supervisor, Otherwise, it creates confusion in the work place. Therefore, should I encounter the scenario that you described, I would immediately stop working on my supervisor's priority assignment, go to my supervisor's office and inform him about his manager's priority assignment. I would give him the assignment, then ask, what would you like for me to do?

An example of a last minute assignment for me would be having to give a 5-7 minute speech at a local Toastmasters Club when the designated speaker doesn't show up. I am never unprepared for anything that comes up at the last minute. You can only work on 1-priority task at a time, therefore, ever changing priorities would be re-prioritized based on urgency.

Job Interview Questions: Help!! I got a job interview for an upscale, high-class restaurant as a bus person, but...?

I'll be leaving for school in about 3 weeks (the university is about 4 hours from here, btw). The job interview is in two days, and I was just wondering.. what are the chances of me being hired? I really wouldn't mind working holidays/seasonal or anything. But chances are..? Maybe they'll give me a chance to set a good example and possibly keep me on schedule for when I come home from school?

Job Interviews Should Be As Easy As Trying on a Pair of Shoes

I don't want to sound mean, but the truth is they won't hire you so essentially you are wasting your time and their time. You are going to have to tell them that you're leaving in 3 weeks and heading to college away-- employers don't really look too highly on that unless you were working for them months in advance, and then they could arrange a seasonal or holiday work shift for you. But this economy still isn't great, and employers are trying to maximize their budgets by hiring people who are going to be worth their time. Someone who is going away to college isn't someone the want to hire-- they'd rather hire someone who will stay in the area, and chances are that's who the new employee will be.

For future reference, the best time to search for a summer job is in late March to early April, BEFORE school gets out. This way, you could start working in May and by the time it's August, you will have worked for a couple months and are more likely to have a fill-in seasonal job.

    • All you can do is try..... good luck to you.. they may need someone part time.. and then that will give them a chance to see how you do and when you return home for another trip and will be home a week or longer...so they may need you as a "fill in" for short staff .. and it will give you something to put on a resume, and gain experience...good luck!

    • No, you won't get hired. I'm sorry to sound negative, but it would just be a waste of money and time. They need to hire someone who can stay longer than three weeks. It costs a company more money and time to hire two people than to hire one.

    Job Interview Questions: Job interview...............?

How To Ace Your Next Job Interview - What They Don't Tell You

    Recommended Answer:
    Congrats, you have an interview.
the SS and ID are if they offer you a position, after the interview.
    First dont be nervous.
Secondly make sure you have some very good questions to ask them.
    such as:
"What do you think are the best traits for a Fred Meyer associate to have to be successful?"
"I am really excited about having a chance to work for a leading retailer, as I think retail would make an excellent career for me with my abilities (outgoing, get along with people, hard worker, strong math and social skills, good planning ability, creative). What opportunities are there for people in my potential position?

How To Give Good Job Interview Answers

    • I would be prepared for an interview, and it sounds like they are ready to put you on the payroll if they asked you to being your Social Security Card. If so, be prepared to discuss and decide if you want the job offer, and also map schedule hours you prefer to work just in case they want you to start right away. If you are in school be sure to give yourself enough time between school and work to grab a quick bite to eat and get there on time. It is my experience that good grades pay off more in the long run than part time jobs, so ensure you give yourself enough time to get your homework done and a good nights sleep on the evenings you work. Congratulations in advance and good luck. The PracticaL Mentor.

    • They care a lot about appearance, make sure you are wearing clean clothes, clean hair, etc. Hygiene can be a big deciding factor in hiring/not hiring someone. Smile and make eye contact, be humble and dependable, and you'll do great.
And good luck to you :)
