Job Interview Questions: Job interview? What to Wear?

I am having a job interview on Tuesday and I am figuring out to wear. This is for a UPS packaging and handling position and it just sounds like a very formal and strict environment.

I have always gotten away with dress shoes, nice dress pants or khakis, and a nice express polo. But these are the times when I applied for retail and a restaurant and got the job.

Should it be okay just wearing that, or would I have to wear a business like shirt, pants, shoes, tie, etc because it seems like a formal environment?

Tell us a little bit about yourself

What are your strengths?
--Give strengths that match well with the position for which you are applying.

What are your weaknesses?
--Give another strength disguised as a weakness. I sometimes focus so much on the task that I don't get enough sleep, or work too many hours.

How soon can you report to work if selected for the job?
--Tell them when you are available to start.

How much money are you willling to work for?
--Find out what the going rate is for that type of job. Ask for the lower end if you are inexperienced, or the higher end if experienced.

Are there any questions that you would like to ask us?
Use this to show your knowledge of the company by asking a question that relates to something the business does, or a client they have, or something like that. Or ask about some other aspect that only someone familiar with the work would know to ask.

Job Interview Questions: How can i nail my job interview as a hostess?

i have an interview in a couple hours at Sundance Steakhouse. I dont have much experience on my application and i am in high school..despite that, they seemed very interested in me, thus, asking me to come in for an interview. what kind of questions can i expect and what are the best ways to answer them? also what should i wear? how should i do my hair, makeup, etc?

A Job Interview Guide for Starters

Dress in a tuxedo-T. Nothing says I can handle anyone's **** like a Tuxedo-T. That is unless you have a spare 3-wolf-moon shirt lying around.
As far as the Q&A goes, don't make eye contact. Nothing shows obedience like a submissive line of sight. Also, sniff around a lot. You should make it known that you have a strong awareness of your surroundings via senses. If they ask any questions about you specifically, such as, "what are your strengths and weaknesses?", flip the script and ask them a question, something to keep them on edge, like, "where do you live?" just to show your capability of functioning under pressure.

8 Job Interview Mistakes You Should Avoid

  • I worked as a hostess for a long time and I was hired at 17. I suggest wearing light makeup, something that looks natural and good on you. Wear your hair down and curled if you can, depends on the length though I guess. Basically, dress like the hostesses you saw when you went into the restaurant. You want to look nice, especially if you're going to be a hostess. Earring can be a nice touch. They might ask you questions like, "Why do you want to work at Sundance Steakhouse?" "Name a time when you provided great customer service." <--- have you ever volunteered or worked any high school events? "If a guest was rude to you, how would you react?" "What about another employee?" etc. If you have more questions let me know! (:

Questions to Ask Your Interviewer in the Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
What are your strengths and weaknesses? (Don't say a bad weakness like "I'm lazy", but you need to have some sort of answer for this because if you say "I don't have any" then they'll just think you're lying to sound good)

Do you have any problem with the hours of operation of our business?

How often do you think you will be absent?

What do you think of people who are constantly tardy?

Why do you want to work here? (It's always a good idea to research the company, but be realistic in your answer.)

TELL THE TRUTH! Every manager I've ever worked for LOVED when potential employees were true to themself and just told the truth.

Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: I need to know for my job interview. What is XFinity and how does it relate to Comcast?

I'm going on an interview tomorrow for a sales job with Comcast and I want to be knowledgeable. Also, what is the most important thing about Comcast as it relates to either Qwest or Dish TV?

Telephone Job Interview Challenges - Preparation Is the Key!

Recommended Answer:
Xfinity is basically a branding arm of Comcast. In areas of the country where their "World of More" service improvement rollout is complete, they are using the Xfinity name to promote the consumer service and Comcast's name to promote business solutions. Xfinity markets typically have more HD than others (~100 channels versus the 30 or so before), faster internet with speeds starting at 12-20 mbps, and wider On-Demand offerings.

As to the main difference between Comcast and Qwest or Dish or whoever, when you're a Comcast subscriber you write one check to one company for phone, internet and TV. Even when the local phone company "bundles" with a satco, and you may still only write one check for service, you still have two separate companies responsible for your services and it makes it that much harder to get problems resolved.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview...............?

So i'm excited that fredmeyer called me today lol. Anyway they told me to go in tomorrow with my id and ssc. Is this an interview? I'm so nervous. Please give advice on interviews.

How To Ace Your Next Job Interview - What They Don't Tell You

Recommended Answer:
Congrats, you have an interview.
the SS and ID are if they offer you a position, after the interview.
First dont be nervous.
Secondly make sure you have some very good questions to ask them.
such as:
"What do you think are the best traits for a Fred Meyer associate to have to be successful?"
"I am really excited about having a chance to work for a leading retailer, as I think retail would make an excellent career for me with my abilities (outgoing, get along with people, hard worker, strong math and social skills, good planning ability, creative). What opportunities are there for people in my potential position?

How To Give Good Job Interview Answers

  • I would be prepared for an interview, and it sounds like they are ready to put you on the payroll if they asked you to being your Social Security Card. If so, be prepared to discuss and decide if you want the job offer, and also map schedule hours you prefer to work just in case they want you to start right away. If you are in school be sure to give yourself enough time between school and work to grab a quick bite to eat and get there on time. It is my experience that good grades pay off more in the long run than part time jobs, so ensure you give yourself enough time to get your homework done and a good nights sleep on the evenings you work. Congratulations in advance and good luck. The PracticaL Mentor.

  • They care a lot about appearance, make sure you are wearing clean clothes, clean hair, etc. Hygiene can be a big deciding factor in hiring/not hiring someone. Smile and make eye contact, be humble and dependable, and you'll do great.
And good luck to you :)

Job Interview Questions: How long does it take Walmart to call after the second job interview?

Hey everybody, I just went into Walmart and had two back to back job interviews, They said they liked me and recommended me for the job, but said they had to check on my references and then they would call me in a few days. Do you think they were serious, or just trying to get rid of me? Would they have hired me right there if I got the job? Thanks

Recommended Answer:
If they were trying to get rid of you, they wouldn't have mentioned checking the references or recommended you for the job (not sure what you mean by that, but anyway).

Sounds like you'll get the job. They'll call in a few days like they said.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to this job interview?

I have a job interview with World Market tomorrow. Im a little confused on what I should wear to the interview. I popped in today and saw that the employees have a casual dress code. They were wearing jeans, tennis shoes and solid colored tops, with company apron. I have read a number of times to never wear jeans to a job interview but this job is pretty casual. I dont want to overdress and I dont want to underdress. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

How to Prepare For a Job Interview - Preparing For a Good Job

  • It doesn't matter if the job will be a casual or semi- casual setting you should ALWAYS wear something professional. A pair of pin striped or solid black pants and a cute blouse with closed toed heels (no sandals) would be appropriate. Don't over dress but certainly don't under dress either. Always keep a clean and neat appearance and make sure your hair looks nice too!

You can never get a second chance to make a first impression...

Remember also, if you want to move up in the company they will remember how you came in. If you look like you are a professional person with skills you will be held to that standard and it helps when it comes to evaluations and promo time!

  • First off, don't be afraid of over dressing. It shows that you are serious about getting the job, and you know how to present yourself in an important situation. Always dress in a way that compliments your figure and skin tone. ( ex. If you are pale, no yellows are light peaches or whites) Also don't wear too much makeup. Go light and natural and not to dark. Something that would look nice might be a striped pant leg, dark jean jacket, black stilletos, and nothing too flashy ( these aren't suggestions for an actual outfit, just article of clothing that might look nice paired with something else) One more thing, don't over accesorize. A simple chain necklace and earings that don't dangle very much can go a long way.

If you want to impress at the interview, you could also try greeting them with a nice, firm handshake and a dazzling smile. Always remember to appear comfortable even though you really may not be.

  • I agree with most everyone else; never wear jeans to a job interview. I used to be a hiring manager for a local retail store. It was a very casual position, but it was nice to see people come in not necessarily in fancy clothes, but nice outfits. I guess it shows drive and determination. To me it showed that yes the job is casual, but you are taking the interview and the job seriously. I think a good idea would be a pair of tan or black pants and a nice dress shirt - still kind of casual but nowhere along the lines of jeans.

  • Do not wear jeans! no matter how casual the job is! I always played it safe with black pants and a white button down top

  • wear a button down white blouse and a knee length skirt or work pants

  • i wuld wear jeans and a tshirt
