Job Interview Questions: How long does it take Walmart to call after the second job interview?

Hey everybody, I just went into Walmart and had two back to back job interviews, They said they liked me and recommended me for the job, but said they had to check on my references and then they would call me in a few days. Do you think they were serious, or just trying to get rid of me? Would they have hired me right there if I got the job? Thanks
