Job Interview Questions: How can i nail my job interview as a hostess?

i have an interview in a couple hours at Sundance Steakhouse. I dont have much experience on my application and i am in high school..despite that, they seemed very interested in me, thus, asking me to come in for an interview. what kind of questions can i expect and what are the best ways to answer them? also what should i wear? how should i do my hair, makeup, etc?

A Job Interview Guide for Starters

    Recommended Answer:
Dress in a tuxedo-T. Nothing says I can handle anyone's **** like a Tuxedo-T. That is unless you have a spare 3-wolf-moon shirt lying around.
As far as the Q&A goes, don't make eye contact. Nothing shows obedience like a submissive line of sight. Also, sniff around a lot. You should make it known that you have a strong awareness of your surroundings via senses. If they ask any questions about you specifically, such as, "what are your strengths and weaknesses?", flip the script and ask them a question, something to keep them on edge, like, "where do you live?" just to show your capability of functioning under pressure.

8 Job Interview Mistakes You Should Avoid

    • I worked as a hostess for a long time and I was hired at 17. I suggest wearing light makeup, something that looks natural and good on you. Wear your hair down and curled if you can, depends on the length though I guess. Basically, dress like the hostesses you saw when you went into the restaurant. You want to look nice, especially if you're going to be a hostess. Earring can be a nice touch. They might ask you questions like, "Why do you want to work at Sundance Steakhouse?" "Name a time when you provided great customer service." <--- have you ever volunteered or worked any high school events? "If a guest was rude to you, how would you react?" "What about another employee?" etc. If you have more questions let me know! (:

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview tomorrow at United Health Care?

    I have a few questions

What should I wear for the interview (clothes and shoes)?
What other things should I bring to make me a better candidate?
And any other things I might have missed.
P.S. I do not have very good clothing right now, but I am going to buy some clothes.
    What should I buy?

10 Important Words to Remember in a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Wear conservative business clothes. If you have a business suit, that's always best. If you don't, then you can wear any nice dress, skirt or pants. If you have a blazer, great. If not, maybe a nice sweater. At the very least, your clothes must be clean and ironed, and they should fit without being too tight. They should not be flashy, low cut or too casual (no jeans, sweats, shorts, sneakers or flip-flops). Shoes should be street shoes. Tasteful sandals are fine; casual ones are not.

Hair should be clean and neat. Style it however, but try not to be too outrageous. Piercings should be free of jewelry, if possible (earrings are fine).

Bring a purse with your picture ID, birth certificate and Social Security card inside. You may want to bring makeup and a brush for a last-minute touch-up. You could take along paper and a pen to make notes with. This shows you're interested and organized.

List several questions you'd like to ask. Don't just ask about salary and growth opportunities. Ask about the job itself. (What are the job duties? What skills and personal qualities are you looking for? What are the upsides and downsides of the job?) If they answer all your questions before you ever ask them, let them know that.

How to Get Your Dream Job - The 3 Step Job Interview Process

    • Go to your local second hand store and look for some nice clothing. Slacks, flats, nice shirt. That's what I did. Does your state require you to have a license to sale insurance? Here it does. I would ask questions, insurance is tricky. Bring references and any certificates or paper copy of your resume if you can.

    • Be formal for the job. Not need to change your self just be confident & speak fluently.
      good luck.

Job Interviews - What You Don't Do Can HELP You!

    • Danie, follow 1334's advice, but just be sure to NOT be yourself, cos 'yourself' (in most human beings) isn't really good for an interview. Things like body language, posture, conversation skills, that are 'yourself' might not spell out 'NEXT CEO' to the interviewer.Might wanna research that stuff on google, or buy a book on interviews, or body language, or people skills, or motivation...

    • Well do you need advice on what to wear or how to nail the interview? I would google the top questions most human resources personnel ask and will try to think of answers. Don't memorize anything though. Be sincere most interviewers will pick up on that. Also if they ask a question the answer to which is negative try to make it positive. For example they may say you don't have enough experience try saying yes that's true, but you're very eager to learn and grow. Good luck!

    • Im 17 too and i work at taco bell. My advice to you is be yourself, confident but not too confident, DONT chew gum, answer questions as best as you can, and dress appropriately. And as for calling, they called me back the next day but it may take a week. If you dont hear from them within a week... Call them or continue your job search :) good luck!!!!

    • Keep eye contact, open with a firm handshake and end with one. Be respectful, answer honestly, be confident about your skills, but not cocky. Also, make it clear you are interested for the right reasons. Don't be afraid to call THEM if you do not hear back from them. It shows you care! (But don't hound) GOOD LUCK!

    • Don't mumble. Don't keep talking. Look nice: dress nice and be polite even if he/she isn't to you. If you have a bad reputation don't tell him/her too much.

      lol

      Best of Luck!
      Pippin

    • Just dont become a nervous wreak during the interview, and they should take about 3-4 days to get back to you

    • be confident be yourself and have passion about the job. no one likes a slacker. as for times just ask.

Job Interview Issues - How To Dress To Match The Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Sit up straight, speak clearly and confidently and show enthusiasm (but don't act crazy).

    You've got this.

Questions to Ask Your Interviewer in the Job Interview

    • there are thow things that you need to pay attention to:
      1. how you look
      2. how you answer their questions.

      1. even if you interview with mcdonald's for a cashier job, you should always look as professional as a CEO! i learned that in college, and it was one of the few things that i still remember. here are some guidelines on what to wear:
Men and women should wear a suit (two pieces cut from the same cloth). Colors: dark blue, or medium to dark gray. Black is acceptable, but some find it too authoritative. Fabric: solid or subtle pinstripe, plaid or tweed.
Women: may wear conservative jewelry, no larger than dime-size earrings on the earlobe.
Men and women may carry a black, brown, or maroon leather portfolio.

if you want more details look over this page: https://sites.google.com/site/theresuman…

      2. since you don't have experience, you should probably expect a Behavioral Interview (if you don't know what that is or how to prepare for it, look here: https://sites.google.com/site/theresuman… ). Prepare answers to quesitons about yourself, about McDonalds as a company, and about this position's responsibility and how you encounter in your life similar situations with the ones the job might offer you (conflicts with co-workers, running out of time, unpleasant customers etc). If you look at the link I posted before, you'll find on the left side of the page a lot of good advice on interview prep. Look over that, I'm sure you'll find it useful.

      Hope this helped. Good luck!!

    • 1) Relax.
      2) Look him/her in the eye.
      3) Be neat.
      4) Smile when it's appropriate
      5) Ask questions about the job, the training, etc.
      6) Sit up straight.
      7) Show some eagerness and enthusiasm, like you are really looking forward to working there.
      8) Tell him/her you would like to earn a promotion after you've worked there for a while.

OK. Some of those suggestions insulted your intelligence.

    Job Interview Questions: Job Interview................?

I am going for an interview for a job that is about an hour away from where I live on Saturday. I was talking to my sister and she said I might want to rethink having a job so far away because I would be spending more on gas than I would be earning. Is a job that is an hour away worth it, or should I think about getting something closer (there really isn't much in my field that is close to me)?

I am doing it more for experience, to get my foot in the door in my career field (haven't had much luck elsewhere, so I am thinking I should take what I can get).

Things to Do in a Job Interview

    • ugh! polls and survey people come on polls and surveys so they don't have to think...
(if its a job thats really good for what you do, go for it. you could always quit if the drive is too much of a hassle.)

    • The way the job market is, I'd take what I could get. You can always change jobs once the market opens back up.

    • Whatever you can get now, take it....!!

    • getting a job closer is better and save on gas
but if you need the money go for the hours drive

    • wrong category

    • closer

    • Figure your milage and gas..then your pay...thats all I'll say.
