Job Interview Questions: Banana Republic job interview?

Okay, so I have this job interview at Banana Republic tomorrow and I'm kind of worried. I haven't had an interview since the one I had for my current job which was almost three years ago. I have the perfect outfit planned out, but I honestly have no idea what kind of questions their going to ask me.. I also have never had a group interview before.. Any ideas on what they are going to ask me or suggestions on how I should practice for my answers?

The Job Interview Process - What to Expect

      Recommended Answer:
When an employer does group interviews, they are looking for a person that is a natural leader with charisma. Outgoing but not arrogant. Commanding in a natural way. Its tough on wallflowers and super outgoing people alike because the employer wants to see who is the most likable in a situation where everyone is rooting against everyone else.

Charm is a huge asset. But lay it on too thick, or become too oblivious and you are cooked.

No Time To Prepare For The Job Interview?

      • One of the first things potential employers look at is your fingernails believe it or not, at least that's what I was told when I had to take interview skills seminars at one of the top business schools in the country. Also. make sure your shoes are job interview appropriate. As for group interviews, don't interrupt, don't be afraid to 'respectfully disagree', and make good eye contact with who you are addressing. Introduce yourself to the others you will be interviewing with when you arrive. Also, prepare yourself for generic questions you will most likely have to answer (ie why would you be a good employee, what you can bring to the company, maybe an example of an ethical dilemma...things like that)...it's important to answer in a timely manner.

Arrive 10-15 minutes early, bring a copy of your resume/cv...Most of all, GOOD LUCK!

I forgot to add that you should always ask a question, even if it's a generic 'what's your favorite part about working here' or 'what is a typical day like for someone in the position i'm interviewing for'

Well consider the game America's Army - a game made by the US Military themselves. I don't see them as looking down upon you for that. If you like to game, you like to game. It's a legitimate hobby, something you do in your recreational time.

      • it's the army you could say sitting on your a*s all day all they care about is giving you a gun and shipping you over seas

      • Im the same way. You can tell them but word it differently, like "I like to play video games, but they dont rule my life". And a big bit of advice, do alot of cardio, worry about weight lifting later. I know my sergeant would tear you apart if he heard you say your obsessed with video games.

      • Are you kiddding me?!?!?!? This is 2009. So much is done remotely today using drones and robots and there are many more things in development. Your calused little fingers could be a real asset.

Besides playing, can you hack games, etc.? Don't put down and hide the skills you have.

The Secret Revealed Behind Tricks That Interviewers Use During Job Interviews

      • To succeed in interviews plan and prepare properly.

First research the Company, the job and what you will expect to do. An inevitable question is "What do you know about the company" - an answer that suggests you know something about the organisation, the markets they work in, the size of the industry etc will demonstrate that you have researched the Company and are taking the interview seriously.

Also, think of several answers to standard interview questions beforehand - eg. what is your biggest career success to date, why you are looking for a career in xyz, why did you choose certain subjects to study etc. Preparing answers beforehand will make you feel more confident and that will come across.

There are plenty of websites and books that offer advice on interview answers - my suggestion is to read them/look at the sites. Every bit of planning beforehand will make you look stronger and you will feel more confident and relaxed, and again that will show.

Lastly, when asked if you have any questions thank the interviewer for his/her time and simply say "Is there any answer that I've given that you would like me to expand on?". That makes the interviewer give you some direct feed back and even if they don't want to take your application further you'll get some good practical advice for future interviews.
