The Job Interview Process - What to Expect
Recommended Answer:
When an employer does group interviews, they are looking for a person that is a natural leader with charisma. Outgoing but not arrogant. Commanding in a natural way. Its tough on wallflowers and super outgoing people alike because the employer wants to see who is the most likable in a situation where everyone is rooting against everyone else.
Charm is a huge asset. But lay it on too thick, or become too oblivious and you are cooked.
No Time To Prepare For The Job Interview?
- One of the first things potential employers look at is your fingernails believe it or not, at least that's what I was told when I had to take interview skills seminars at one of the top business schools in the country. Also. make sure your shoes are job interview appropriate. As for group interviews, don't interrupt, don't be afraid to 'respectfully disagree', and make good eye contact with who you are addressing. Introduce yourself to the others you will be interviewing with when you arrive. Also, prepare yourself for generic questions you will most likely have to answer (ie why would you be a good employee, what you can bring to the company, maybe an example of an ethical dilemma...things like that)...it's important to answer in a timely manner.
Arrive 10-15 minutes early, bring a copy of your resume/cv...Most of all, GOOD LUCK!
I forgot to add that you should always ask a question, even if it's a generic 'what's your favorite part about working here' or 'what is a typical day like for someone in the position i'm interviewing for'
