Job Interview Questions: Question about a job interview?

I went on a job interview for a part time job yesterday and they called my references today. I am a bit shy and timid and the lady doing the interview said that I appeared to be. However, my references told the lady that I am very dependable, reliable, and would be able to handle anything that she wanted me to do. Does it sound like I have a chance in getting this job? I am 18 and never had a job. However, I just finished high school and my job was my grades. I did finish with a 3.5 average!

Illegal Job Interview Questions and How to Handle Them

Recommended Answer:
It sounds as though you have a good chance to get the job. The references you were given were constructive and positive. The rest depends on you. You need to be outgoing and live up to what was said about you.

Please keep in mind, when someone gives you a reference, that is them giving their word. Do you best not to disappoint them.

What To Do And Not To Do In A Job Interview

  • wow ur gpa is good...and yea u have a chance because of the references, they gave u a good word...BUT if the lady said ur shy adn timid and stuff then that might be a problem...u have to be more self confident and professional wen u go for an interview...but call after a week n ask if u got the job or not..GOODLUCK and next time remember to be self confident and stuff...the interviewer is mostly looking at how u present urself, and ur attitude and stuff..its a first impression..again best of luck

  • Ahn... I don't know.
You never worked before, which is problem.
I think you have just to pray for it and trust yourself. If it don't win that, think that you can try once more.
    Good luck.

  • they dont know your average and im sure they dont care depending on the job . but at jobs interviews you cant show that you are shy so i doubt it unless theyre desperate

  • idk
    good luck

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a casual job interview?

It's for the NSPCC
it's a really good job.
the woman said, "come kind of as you are, dress casual"
the job is based around personality, and interacting with others.

Job Interview Marathon: Win the Race!

Recommended Answer:
First impression is everything. I'd take it as business casual though since it is a interview. Nice slacks and a polo shirt or button down shirt should work with professional shoes. Don't go in shorts and a t-shirt or a short tight dress. Sometimes jobs will place in there dress casual to test out what type of potential workers are willing to dress to impress for a job. Remember there are a lot of competition out there a lot of days.

Job Interview Questions: How should I answer this job interview question?

Do you have experience working and multi-tasking in a fast paced enviroment? Yes or No

I have never had an actual job. But I am a babysitter and often volunteer at large events?

Impress Potential Employers By Getting Job Interview Practice

    Recommended Answer:
It depends, with your babysitting and volunteer work did you ever have to multi-task? If so, then answer 'Yes' to that question.

The Importance of Great Job Interview Answers

    • Most people when applying for their first job forget that things like babysitting and volunteering is actual work. Tell the interviewer about these. Now think, when you were doing these were you multi-tasking? Probably. So tell how you feel, they are not looking for any certain answer or phrase, just honesty.

    • Professionally no, however with volunteer work yes.. It was so hectic because... And i handled everything so brilliantly because.... basically i kick *** in multitasking roles. that's how i am wired. And even better! Cut out the the first 3 words in that. Seriously, without would be the stronger statement.

    • Since it's an interview, I'd say "yes" and explain specifically what you mean by that. (That you have experience in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, but that not on a job site.) You'll get credit for coming up with something if you give an intelligent answer.

    • for multi tasking I would say yes. If you babysit you could say there have been times when you have had to deal with multiple kids at once and have had to handle hectic situations with rowdy kids or something like that.
and im sure any employer would appreciate volunteer work of any kind. it would show your character and responsibility. Can someone help with my question?

Job Interview Questions: How should I wear my hair for my job interview?

I currently have hair like this:

I have heard that it is best to pull one's hair up in a ponytail for job interviews; is this true? If so, should I pin my bangs back as well?

Job Interview Questions: How to prepare for job interview at Ralph Lauren?

i am going to have a job interview in a few days, it will be my first interview and it is a group interview. What should i expect in a group interview? is it hard to get the job if you're not SUPER outgoing? Do they ask you a lot of really hard questions?
any advice would be appreciated :)
and obviously i know i need to dress nice, be confident, etc.

The Job Interview Process - What to Expect

      Recommended Answer:
When an employer does group interviews, they are looking for a person that is a natural leader with charisma. Outgoing but not arrogant. Commanding in a natural way. Its tough on wallflowers and super outgoing people alike because the employer wants to see who is the most likable in a situation where everyone is rooting against everyone else.

Charm is a huge asset. But lay it on too thick, or become too oblivious and you are cooked.

No Time To Prepare For The Job Interview?

      • One of the first things potential employers look at is your fingernails believe it or not, at least that's what I was told when I had to take interview skills seminars at one of the top business schools in the country. Also. make sure your shoes are job interview appropriate. As for group interviews, don't interrupt, don't be afraid to 'respectfully disagree', and make good eye contact with who you are addressing. Introduce yourself to the others you will be interviewing with when you arrive. Also, prepare yourself for generic questions you will most likely have to answer (ie why would you be a good employee, what you can bring to the company, maybe an example of an ethical dilemma...things like that)...it's important to answer in a timely manner.

Arrive 10-15 minutes early, bring a copy of your resume/cv...Most of all, GOOD LUCK!

I forgot to add that you should always ask a question, even if it's a generic 'what's your favorite part about working here' or 'what is a typical day like for someone in the position i'm interviewing for'

I'm 15 years old, and I recently applied/left my resume at a store called 'Party Packagers'. It's a specialty store that sells supplies for parties and special occasions. Recommended Answer:
I don't agree with wearing what ever you want. Yes I agree you don't have to wear a suit but you should wear a nice blouse and pants ( for a 15 year old, some lower shoes is good too.no high heels ) Make sure your hair is nice and your makeup natural.

I am a manager and that is one thing that I take into consideration.. attire. It says a lot about a person. It might not be who you are but it is who you should be when it comes to a job, a professional.

      World's Best Job Interview Tips

      • It's Party Packers not a law firm.

        Wear whatever you want.

      • A job interview is when you should try to blend in with that world. When you are a teenager you shouldn't look like you are heading out to a rock concert. Avoid ripped shirts, T-shirts, shirts with writing/logos, bare midriffs, jeans, short skirts and wild hair. Teenage girls should wear dress pants or a dress skirt and a nice blouse. if it is a skirt suit be sure that the length of the skirt is appropriate. Knee-length is best for a job interview.

Girls can pick a sweater, cardigan or blouse with a conservative neckline. Make sure your choices fit properly.
Lean toward neutral and darker colors. If your interview happens to be right after school, pack a backup outfit just in case the first one gets dirty. You can play with colors a bit, but try to stick to soft pinks, purples or greens.

Step into your interview with a clean pair of shoes. You can go with a low heel if they prefer, but simple non-slip loafers or Oxfords will suffice. Remove any debris from the soles and buff away any scuffs that may be on the tops, sides or back.

Remove any facial piercings. Girls should limit themselves to one earring in each ear.
Accessories and make-up should be kept simple for a job interview. Make-up should not include intense colors such as blue eyeliner or bright red lipstick. Nails should be properly manicured, not too long or painted in loud colors. A French manicure or plain clear coat draws the least attention. Jewelry worn on a job interview should also be kept plain. Pearls are ideal, as are small pendants or stud earrings. Trendy dangling earrings or large bracelets that jingle or cause distraction should always be avoided for a job interview.

Girls should always keep their legs and feet covered for a job interview. Stockings are an absolute must as bare legs are considered extremely unprofessional, even if they are lean and tan. If heels are worn with pants, knee high stockings should be worn to cover the exposed part of the feet. Open toed shoes, sandals or extremely high heels or platforms are not a good idea for a job interview and are also considered to be unprofessional.

        Remember!
        • Professionalism should be the number one goal for a girls on a job interview, which is a different goal than normal day-to-day dressing that often has the goal of looking attractive.
        • You cannot expect to be respected or treated equal to the man sitting next to you in a business suit and tie(even if your resume is better than his)if you show up to the job interview in a short skirt, five inch high sandals and a low cut shirt.
        • Avoid sending the wrong message by dressing inappropriately.
        • Show the potential employer you mean business by caring about your appearance.
        • Unfortunately due to the inequality that exists in the workplace girls often need to take extra measures to be respected and viewed as professional.
        Gooooooooooood Luck :)
