Job Interview Questions: Question about a job interview?

I went on a job interview for a part time job yesterday and they called my references today. I am a bit shy and timid and the lady doing the interview said that I appeared to be. However, my references told the lady that I am very dependable, reliable, and would be able to handle anything that she wanted me to do. Does it sound like I have a chance in getting this job? I am 18 and never had a job. However, I just finished high school and my job was my grades. I did finish with a 3.5 average!

Illegal Job Interview Questions and How to Handle Them

Recommended Answer:
It sounds as though you have a good chance to get the job. The references you were given were constructive and positive. The rest depends on you. You need to be outgoing and live up to what was said about you.

Please keep in mind, when someone gives you a reference, that is them giving their word. Do you best not to disappoint them.

What To Do And Not To Do In A Job Interview

  • wow ur gpa is good...and yea u have a chance because of the references, they gave u a good word...BUT if the lady said ur shy adn timid and stuff then that might be a problem...u have to be more self confident and professional wen u go for an interview...but call after a week n ask if u got the job or not..GOODLUCK and next time remember to be self confident and stuff...the interviewer is mostly looking at how u present urself, and ur attitude and stuff..its a first impression..again best of luck

  • Ahn... I don't know.
You never worked before, which is problem.
I think you have just to pray for it and trust yourself. If it don't win that, think that you can try once more.
    Good luck.

  • they dont know your average and im sure they dont care depending on the job . but at jobs interviews you cant show that you are shy so i doubt it unless theyre desperate

  • idk
    good luck

Job Interview Tips - Negative Attributes That Will Stop You Getting a Job Offer

  • They will probably ask: Why do you want to work here? What are your weaknesses, and strengths? Hospitals are "HUGE" in Teamwork. I've worked in a hospital for about 15 years as a Certified Pharmacy Tech. I loved every minute of it. Hospitals usually have great benefits. DO NOT ask about the wages. That is a huge no no at an interview. At any interview that is. They also want you to have an eye for detail. Good luck at your interview.

EDIT: Don't worry about being nervous. Employers know that people can get nervous at interviews. :-)

  • What type of job at a hospital is it. My Ex-wife is a nurse and if you are going to be in the Medical feild I would suggest not showing your nervousness....

Look them in the eye, be honest, tell them what you will bring to the team. Give them strengths and ayt least one weakness that you are improving on.

Nifty Tips For Winning a Job Interview - A Must Look

    • Yes, you should always bring a resume to a job interview, if it is not for a summer job. It's alright if you don't have any work experience to write about. You can show off your good academic career there. Write your name, contact information, mail id and phone no. Then write a short career objective. Mention about your educational details. If you have good grades you can show it off there. As you don't have any experience, you can do one thing. Add a section "achievements", under that write about your achievements during school. You can also mention about any special technical course you have done or if you have participated in any social cause. It will show that you are a hard working and sincere.

Job Interview Questions: Will this effect my job interview?

I was caught shop lifting a while back but the police gave me a warning.

I know, i was stupid. I've been clean ever since.

I have a job interview tomorrow at Aeropostale and they do a background check on criminal records and everything. Will the theft be on my records?

I'm a bit scared now. Should i stil go to the interview?

Techniques To Avoid Job Interview Stress

    Recommended Answer:
    You should still go.

If the police only issued you a warning, it probably won't show up. Can you contact the police department and ask them?

There's always someone there. You could call right now. MAKE SURE you use the NON-EMERGENCY number!!!

Should it come up in the interview, you could say that you made a terrible mistake, you're very sorry and embarrassed about it. You have learned a lot about yourself because or since then (if that's true of course. Be prepared to mention WHAT you've learned.)

And ask to be put on the greeting/folding duties for a probationary period until you've had your first employee review.

Don't bring it up voluntarily though. It probably won't even be mentioned.

How to Perfectly Answer Job Interview Questions Without Breaking a Sweat

    • If you were given a warning then it wont show up on your record. Especially if you are a minor you have nothing to worry about, I'm guessing that if you are applying there then you are. Good luck.

    • If your honest you won't get hired, if you lie and they find out, you won't get hired. If it's not on your record then your safe. Tough call, you need to look into it to see what your record says. After you find out you can apply for a job with a peace of mind. Good luck!

    • A warning will not show up on your record, only a conviction. Also you were a minor, so your record would be sealed anyway.
Don't let this incident hold you back from a good job. To be safe you can call county where warning was given.
