Job Interview Questions: Job interview for a desk clerk at a army lodging..?

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I'm in need of a job I finally got an interview I feel very confident. I'm really new to this though should I tell them about the pregnancy at the interview or after I get hired (assuming I will) Thanks in advance. Also how would I go about telling them?

8 Tips For Doing Well on Your Big Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
If you are in the US, employers can not discriminate against pregnant women when hiring. However, that does not mean that it doesn't happen (it happens all the time) and they just claim you weren't hired for other reasons. It is really up to you on whether to tell them or not, and on how much you need the job. Also, if they require you to do a drug test, it will show up in that.

You are not under any legal obligation to say that you are pregnant until 30 days prior to delivery (if you plan to use FML). If it were me, I would wait until after I was hired; if they then have any issues, you have a better case for a discrimination case if you needed to do that ...

As to how to tell them - if you waited, you could announce at 25 weeks. If they ask why you withheld, you can say that you have had previous miscarriages and you wanted to wait until the period when your baby could survive outside the womb in case anything happened. Or you could say nothing, you do not have to justify your decision in the US.

    Job Interview Questions: Is email an appropriate method to followup on a job interview?

    I called once already but I feel like I am being annoying or bothering the interviewer. I know its nice to show interest but I dont want to be a hound either. Can I email them as well?

    Important Tips to Crack That Dream Job Interview - Don't Commit Blunders Like All Others

    Recommended Answer:
    In today's age of technology- Yes, it is very appropriate to email a short "thank you" after an interview.

    Keep it short, but use this opportunity to reiterate your skills or experience that were discussed at the interview, those that you thought of afterwards and to express continued interest. Here is an example of one that I wrote-

    Kim,

    Thank you for giving me the opportunity to discuss my experience and how it aligns with your objectives and vision for the Human Resource Manager's role and (Company Name) future growth.

    I welcome the challenge of developing your Human Resource department and processes and want to be instrumental in building (Company Name) strength through complete compliance!

    I fully understand the importance of having a solid and trusted counter part and strong communication between Accounting and HR, to support a cohesiveness to objectives-
    I would like to be that person for you!

    It was a pleasure meeting with ( Interviewer) as well, and I would welcome the chance to work with her in efforts to gain accurate reports needed for her financial forecasting, also in planning cost reduction strategies by looking at HR practices that affect the "bottom line" IE; Worker's Comp and UI premiums,review of Benefit Plans and staffing vendors,fewer legal fees and OSHA/DOL fees and penalties!

    I know that on the salary requirement question I stifled some, however please know, that I remain very interested in this position and believe that we can come to a mutual agreement- a good fit is very important to me and I think that I found it at (Company Name)!

    Sincerely,

    (Me)

    Good Luck in your job search!

      If the interviewer is female, a box of chocolates or bouquet of flowers.

        Job Interview Tips for Second Interviews

        • I have found that I do better at interviews when I am more honest and not trying to hide something. I know it seems strange, but I always feel that people are trying to see if you are a fit. If you are asked for an interview, then you are obviously qualified for the job. Just do your homework about the company and the position. Practice some common interview questions and be yourself. Also, never forget as they are interviewing you, you are interviewing them. So always ask yourself "would I want to work here". If you are unemployed, obviously, you will have to take what you can get, but above all, be yourself and honest and you will do fine

        • This may not answer your direct question, but I believe it is good advice. One thing that job seekers seem not to know or forget is that all employers are looking for a certain type of worker. They are looking for an honest, hard working, fairly intelligent and dependable employee. They are also looking for a person who can get along with the public and other employees. If you don't have every one of those characteristics, your chances are slim and none to get and hang onto a job.

          Always think about who you would like to hire if you were looking for an employee. Would you hire you? Look at yourself at the way you walk, talk and dress. Are you a dependable employee? If you were to be asked that question, how would you answer? Would you want you out on the firing line talking to customers? Why? You would want the best person talking to your customers, wouldn't you? Are you the best person? Why?

          Your wants, needs and desires are not really important to a business owner. Stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you could improve the business you want to work for. Put yourself in the driver's seat and let the interviewer know who you are and what you can do for them. Somehow let them know that you are their best choice from all the others that are applying for the job.

          If you really want to get hired, you should be camping out at the nearest library reading every job hunting book you can get your hands on. These books are a great help. Read them several times. It has been said that getting the job is harder than the job itself—so you need to be PREPARED.

        • The important thing is to ensure you prepare for an interview. Make sure you have researched the company and understand the job. Dress smart and make sure you present yourself in a friendly and courteous manner. Some good interview tips are here

          ezinearticles.com/?Interview-Succ…

        • Dress appropriately, give straight answers to questions (be honest, and don't talk and talk and talk), use humor when it's possible, and make sure you look the interviewer straight in the eyes.
          Hope this helps.

        How To Make Job Interviews Easy

        • Here is the (very long but very important) list that I recommend to clients. Obviously not everything will be necessary for you, but it will at least give you a checklist to start!

          * One nice copy of your resume for each person interviewing you, plus one copy for yourself to reference (if you don't know how many people you will encounter, I usually print 10)
          * Two nice copies of your reference list
          * Two nice copies of testimonials and reference letters
          * Two nice copies of positive, relevant work reviews and awards
          * Two nice copies of relevant designs, artwork, proposals, project plans, reports, etc.
          * One nice portfolio (optional) in which to arrange your testimonials, reviews, and related work. Don't include anything that you don't want to lose. (I learned this the hard way. I put original certificates, awards, and references in a portfolio, and a hiring manager asked to keep it for review. I was so excited about the job and trusted that I would be hired, that I allowed him to keep it. A couple of days later I called to see when I could pick it up and he had lost it.)
          * Two pens that work
          * Notepad (In advance, I write my questions on it and notes for myself so the interviewers know I've come prepared. You should also write down the names, titles, and other notes about the people interviewing you.)
          * Directions to the interview
          * Contact number in case you get lost or are late (don't be late!)
          * Fully charged cell phone
          * Hairbrush or comb
          * Breath mints
          * Tissues
          * Stain remover pen or wipes
          * Coins for parking meters and vending machines
          * Money for coffee with the interviewer, lunch, parking, etc.
          * Bottle of water (most places will offer you something to drink, but I like to be prepared)
          * Anything else the interviewer has asked you to bring

        • Use an interview checklist of what you need to do the day before your interview and what you should take with you to the job interview. The site below provides a comprehensive interview checklist so you can be well prepared for your interview.

        • Nothing, really. Just yourself!

        Job Interview Questions: What Are Some Common Job Interview Questions And Answers?

        Hi all, I have an interview coming up next week and wanted to know what kind of job interview questions and answers I can expect? Thanks!

        Career Change Job Search: Job Interview Tips!

        Recommended Answer:
        Hi John,

        Here's one that you might get and a good answer you could try out ...

        Question: Give me an example of a problem you faced on the job, and tell me how you solved it.

        Answer: "Sure, at my last job we had a problem where the situation was "X" ... the action I took was "Y" ... and the positive outcome was "Z" ... I was commended by Susan in Accounting for solving the problem and getting the project back on track. I think that's the type of experience you are looking to bring to your team ... isn't it?

        Discussion: This is a problem solving question that tests your critical thinking skills. This is a great question for showing that you are a creative and capable problem solver.

        The problem you select to use as an example should be as similar as possible to a problem that you are likely to face at the job you are interviewing for.

        1) LISTEN for their "pain points,"
        2) Give an example of your experience where you solved something similar, then
        3) Get them to agree with you that such experience would be beneficial to the company.

        Here's one more ...

        What have you learned from your mistakes?

        "Good question. Well, I've been successful at every job I've had, but I have had the normal ups and downs. I'd say that I do actively try to monitor my work habits and the quality of my work so that I can constantly be improving myself.

        FOR EXAMPLE, I have had one or two hiccups with customers where their satisfaction was not where I thought it was. I learned that I have to really monitor certain difficult customers closely and "take their temperature" so I can keep their satisfaction level as high as possible. Have YOU had any customers like that here?"

        Discussion: Show that you are able to learn from your mistakes, but don't offer up any negative examples concerning your past performance. Show that you have been successful, but that you have the maturity it takes to examine your own behavior so that you can learn and grow and be a better employee. Be brief.

        These are just a few that I found at a very helpful website, don't worry, I've left a link in the resource box below, good luck on your interview!

        Job Interview Basics: Reduce Stress Build Confidence!

        • Hello,

          Here are three common interview questions:
          1. Tell me about yourself.
          2. Why do you want to work here?
          3. Why should I hire you?

          This article should help you :-)

        • It's very popular now for employers to ask you a very open question like "Run me through your career to date"
          So know your own history and reasoning.

          Also, the classic "What motivates you"
          and "Why are you searching for alternative employment"
          as well as "So what do you know about the role you have applied for?"

        • Why did you leave you last company?
          Do you mind working odd hours, holidays, or weekends?
