Job Interview Questions: Is it ok for a guy to wear Cowboy boots to a job interview?

This is for factory/warehouse type work, so Blue collar work. Mine just nice well polished tan boots, not snake skins or anything. Like with a polo shirt and a pair of Khakis?

I think it is perfectly fine,I know many guys who wear cowboy boots to job interviews, and tons of formal stuff too.

Smiling Your Way to Success in a Phone Job Interview

  • I would hope you don't have to ask this!

However I suppose it's a reasonable question given today's social and fashion climate.

But I cannot imagine how a plain pair of cowboy boots would be inappropriate for a blue collar work environment.

As someone mentioned before they are pretty much loafers/wingtips with the leg covered.

  • Maybe if you're applying to be a Cowboy? Lol..

But seriously, it's fine, if you pull your pant leg over the entire boot, they are more or less wingtips at that point...

  • Yes, clean and neat. No cow/horse poop stuck in the soles/seams. If you wear a hat remove it upon entering the office.

  • No you shoul wear a formal suit.

  • i think its fine.

Job Interview Questions: Can i sue for discrimination as a result of a job interview?

I think they are not going to hire me because of something I said in the interview unrelated to the job. They took me to lunch and in the elevator there was a bad smell. I guess I was nervous because when we got out I said that it wasn't me behind the smell. They looked at me funny and were different to me after that. Can I sue based on discrimination if they were white males? Serious answers only please.

Tips For Facing a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
You could sue them if you have a gastro-intestinal condition which causes chronic flatulence, and they refused to hire you because of that.
Unless it was an application for a job at a beauty counter where aroma is important because it would make it hard to sell the perfumes due to the conflicting odor.

How to Improve Your Job Interview Skills

    • No.

You are not entitled to be hired. And the failure of white males to hire you doesn't mean that you were discriminated against.

If you think they are not going to hire you based on your inappropriate humor, you need to work on dealing with your nerves in a more professional manner not on your litigation techniques.

    • Seriously?

You're going to play the race card after you made an inappropriate comment in front of them?

      **sigh**

Yes, you can sue for discrimination. No, you will not win based on what you wrote here.

    • {{{{facepalm}}}}

Only if you can prove you were discriminated against based on EEOC guidelines.

Keep in mind that trolls are not a protected classification

    • Are you kidding me?

You have no case for a lawsuit. They are not obligated to hire you even before you made a comment.

    • Not unless you can prove you was discrimated against I'm sorry to say

    • You're either a troll or an idiot. Great -- let's find yet another excuse to play the race card!

    • No. Bad manners is a good excuse to not hire someone.

    • yeah go ahead and sue im sure the judge could use a good laugh

    • damn anything for weed huh playa

Job Interview Questions: For a job interview, should I let the employer know that I am currently holding another job?

I listed my supervisor of my current job as a reference for another job I am applying. During the interview, should I mention that I am currently employed? I did tell my supervisor that I am applying for another job.

I think you need to let them know you are currently employed. Honesty is always best.

What did you put on the application?

Your Next Job Interview - Are You Prepared?

    • Whether you are going to quit or keep the 2nd job just tell your new employer that you will quit the other job once getting new employment. A lot of jobs don't want you to work a 2nd job so dont tell them it is none of their buisness. In this case less is better.

    • Explain to them what is going on. No big deal here.

    • I would only mention it if they ask.. dont make it like its a problem.. if you bring it up they may think its a problem.. but if they simply ask its out of curiosity.. so they you are obligated to telling them.. but if not dont raise up the fact u have a job unless you think it will be a problem.. there are ways u can work around your schedule.. just tell your boss that u have to attend a program at your school or something and can only do it on certain days.. but do that once your hired.

i had a 2 job interviews when i was preg with my second child. the 1st interview when i was about 3 mths along (i got the job but quit during training because i hated it) and about 5 or 6mths along for the 2nd interview. . i wore dark clothes and they didn't fit tight, but i still assumed i looked pregnant. I didn't mention it during the interview. i got hired and by that time i was 6mths and i asked my manager if she knew i was pregnant and she said she had no idea but she was really cool and it didn't matter either way...i don't recommend you it's really a personal and you aren't obligated to disclose it...

How to Answer Interview Questions - The Number One Job Interview Tip

    • I never had a job interview when I was pregnant. Both of those places need good help and realize that the position is usually not long-term. Try to look neat and professional. I'd wear something that fit a little loose, so your condition is not as obvious. Try borrowing something from a friend. Sometimes a boy's shirt will fit pretty good. You don't need to say anything about your pregnancy at the interview. Good luck.
