Job Interview Questions: For a job interview, should I let the employer know that I am currently holding another job?

I listed my supervisor of my current job as a reference for another job I am applying. During the interview, should I mention that I am currently employed? I did tell my supervisor that I am applying for another job.

I think you need to let them know you are currently employed. Honesty is always best.

What did you put on the application?

Your Next Job Interview - Are You Prepared?

  • Whether you are going to quit or keep the 2nd job just tell your new employer that you will quit the other job once getting new employment. A lot of jobs don't want you to work a 2nd job so dont tell them it is none of their buisness. In this case less is better.

  • Explain to them what is going on. No big deal here.

  • I would only mention it if they ask.. dont make it like its a problem.. if you bring it up they may think its a problem.. but if they simply ask its out of curiosity.. so they you are obligated to telling them.. but if not dont raise up the fact u have a job unless you think it will be a problem.. there are ways u can work around your schedule.. just tell your boss that u have to attend a program at your school or something and can only do it on certain days.. but do that once your hired.
