Job Interview Questions: Common job interview questions (staff nurse position)?

i have a scheduled initial job interview tomorrow for a staff nurse position and i'm quite nervous since i'd be doing this for the first time. can you please give some examples of common interview questions preferably staff nurse interview questions. also, some tips to a successful staff nurse job interview. your answers will be very much appreciated. :)

Job Interview Questions That You Can Ask

Recommended Answer:
A staff nurse is a senior nurse (supervising "ordinary" nurses). You must already be a nurse and so I'm wondering how this can be your first ever interview. Were you not interviewed for your position as nurse? The questions at your staff nurse interview would pertain to the extra responsibilities of a staff nurse and your supervisory skills. Just as a factory boss would hold his foreman responsible for anything that goes wrong, you would be the one held responsible if anything goes wrong on your ward.

Job Interview Questions: How should I wear my hair for my job interview?

I just recently got a hair cut but the length is the same. However I have really cool side bangs. I want to look professional but I don't think wearing it down makes you unprofessional. I can't really pull my hair fully back unless I want to look like a greeser lol. How should I wear my hair then? A bun and just let my bangs go? Or all down and try to tuck my bangs behind my ear? What do you think?

I don't think it matters as long as you look neat and presentable. I'd keep those bangs out of your eyes though, because a lot of people think it's unprofessional.

Job Interview Questions: If the first job interview goes bad, is it normal to just pass you on to the next person?

You have interview with 4 people. First interview went bad...is it normal to pass you on to next person? Wouldn't it make more sense to not send you to next guy?

      Recommended Answer:
It depends on what was conveyed and what happened. I also don't know if you are one of the interviewers or a candidate who thinks the interview went bad. If it went so-so like nothing glaring but just not great, then they may just continue just to not embarass you, since you knew you would be interviewing with 4 people, one right after another. They would just bear with it, AND they may want someone to make sure it really was bad. This would be things like traits (if the person was obnoxious - you can't politely tell people that they don't fit into the culture of the company) or a bad interview (like when the person doesn't interview well).

If it were obvious, then someone might tell you. For example, one time I was being interviewed, but they were interested in some specific skills that I didn't really have, and it was obvious. After the first interviewer was through, he left and then came back to say that they were looking for the specific skills that I didn't have and that they would be ending the interview. So I left.

Job Interview Questions: First job interview today... What should I expect? And how do I answer the questions in a proper way?

I have always worked for family in family restraunts and for baby sitting and house cleaning. So I have never had to have and actuall interview.... Today I have a interview at the Movie theater for a second job... What kind of questions would they ask? What kind of answers are they looking for? Whats some other advice I need to know? Thanks(:

Job Interview Questions That You Can Ask

      Recommended Answer:
They will ask why do you want this job, what can you bring to us,where do you see yourself in 5 years and along those lines. They are looking for a thought out answer, but with no real hesitation or blunt honesty. Dress appropriately for the occasion and talk to the interview with respect and courtesy.Good luck!

      Job Interviewing Tips

      • I don't know what sort of questions you should be expecting... but once in an interview I was thrown off guard by this question:

' what would you say your bad qualities are'

      • Question will be about yourself. your qualities and your capabilities to handle the job. also why do you want to do this job. But don't be bother about questions. rather you should practice to answer these question in home. In interview be polite and little diplomatic. And you should have a faith and confidence on yourself

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview for a night shift, but I cant do it since college starts on the 20th. What should I do?

I have a job interview with Wal-Mart for a night shift from 10pm to 7am. The thing is that college is starting on the 20th for me and I have classes from 8am-11am. That late shift is going to surely kill me.

Should I call in and ask them if they're offering an earlier position? Should I just cancel the job interview? What should I do? :(

Job Interview Tip Number 1 is Preparation

        Recommended Answer:
I would definitely call them and explain that you will be going to classes and that you have just found that the hours will clash with the position you are going to interview for. Offer them your apology that you will not be available for that night shift (it's probably a hard one to find reliable people for) and then ask if they have any other shifts open for that kind of work. Whatever happens, be polite and let them know that if they have something coming up that would work with your college hours, you'd appreciate a call and another chance to interview with them.

Your education is important, and they will appreciate your advance notice of not being able to work the night shift.

        Good luck!

        Eliminate Job Interview Anxiety

        • Don't hesitate to call them and try to find solution together with their HR representative. You should never miss a job opportunity! But don't forget about education!

        • Are your classes everyday? Is it full time or part time? Walmart is usually willing to work with your hours since they rarely hire full time.

Job Interview Questions: Is this a good outfit for my job interview?

I'm about to go to my second ever job interview. I'm wearing a nice purple sweater with three buttons on the front, over a coral blouse. I'm wearing a knee-length black skirt with black flats. My hair is down and I've got light makeup. Is this all okay?

How To Stand Out From The Crowd At Job Interviews

        Recommended Answer:
Um without sounding awful... I'm not sure about the outfit to be honest. The purple, coral and black combo sounds all wrong. Light makeup in always the way to go. As long as you hair isn't messy when it is down, that is ok too but it looks a lot more professional tied back.

A Job Interview Guide for Starters

        • Contrary to the previous answer, I think your outfit sounds very responsible and conservative. While your suitability for the job, and your ability to respond to the questions will ultimately get you the job, your attire will support your image as a person.
Dress properly and look clean and neat, and it will give you an advantage over someone who considers fashion statements over responsibility.

          Good luck!

        • Don't wear the purple sweater over the coral shirt. Just choose one. The rest sounds awesome, but heels would definitely accent the outfit.

        • I personally would go with a purple or coral high heel. But otherwise it sounds perfect

        • Yes it is ok.

        • ....gross. are you a 50 yr old librarian?

I'm the GM of a restaurant and I've heard every possible excuse. Here's what you need to know:

Do you need to come in for your shift late or leave early to make the interview? Give them as much notice as possible and tell them you have a doctor's appointment. Stress that you don't want to call off, but you have to make the appt.

If its in the middle of your shift, go to work, look extra sick and keep running to the bathroom. They'll let you leave!

Job Interview Questions to Ask Potential Employers - The Do's & Don'ts

        • Just tell them you have some sort of appointment (doctor, dentist, car, etc) to get to.

If you have kids tell them that one of them is sick, needs to be picked up from school, dropped off at daycare, etc.

Otherwise you could always call in sick, take a vacation day, personal day etc.

        • If the appointment is at the beginning of your shift, just come in an hour or so late and be all, "ooops, I read the schedule wrong!"

DO NOT tell them you are interviewing.

        • just say that you have personal business that must be resolved.

Job Interview Questions: How long should I wait for a response after job interview?

I just flew to San Diego where I had a job interview. I met ten people. It was basically a first and second round of interviews roled into one. I was told that they would like to interview one or two more candidates and it could take time because of the hiring manager's busy schedule. I've already sent an email and thank you note expressing my interest in the job. How much time should I give the hiring manager (i.e. 3 weeks) before I follow up again?
