Do you need to come in for your shift late or leave early to make the interview? Give them as much notice as possible and tell them you have a doctor's appointment. Stress that you don't want to call off, but you have to make the appt.
If its in the middle of your shift, go to work, look extra sick and keep running to the bathroom. They'll let you leave!

- Just tell them you have some sort of appointment (doctor, dentist, car, etc) to get to.
If you have kids tell them that one of them is sick, needs to be picked up from school, dropped off at daycare, etc.
Otherwise you could always call in sick, take a vacation day, personal day etc.
- If the appointment is at the beginning of your shift, just come in an hour or so late and be all, "ooops, I read the schedule wrong!"
DO NOT tell them you are interviewing.
- just say that you have personal business that must be resolved.
