Job Interview Questions: How do you talk about your DUI in a job interview?

I got through the first step of the hiring process. I had to check yes in regards to my misdemeanor DUI charge and they still called me for an interview.

Now what should I do? I know that they'll probably bring it up and I really don't want to stick my foot in my mouth and say the wrong things. How should I go about talking about my DUI? Should I go into details or no?

Techniques To Avoid Job Interview Stress

Recommended Answer:
I wouldn't go into details. Just tell them you misjudged and made a mistake. You have learned from it and much more cautious and much more mature now. It was one of the hardest periods in your life, but it was a good opportunity for you to grow up and understand the consequences of your actions, and you are making much better life choices because of it. You can't go back and change the past, all you can do is learn and grow from the experience.

Almost no one is gonna care that you had a DUI. What is the job?

Anyways I wouldn't go into too much detail, just say you made a mistake and learned from it. Don't sound irresponsible, for example don't say I got pulled over for a busted head light, no one's head light has ever failed a breathalizer. Just sound mature and responsible when if your asked, to be honest with you most people wont ask.

  • If they ask, you tell them the truth without giving up details. If they don't ask, you keep your mouth shut on the topic.

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview at a local coffee shop tomorrow. Should I wear jeans or leggings?

I don't even own any pants that aren't jeans or leggings, so I really don't have any other options.
I know you aren't supposed to wear jeans to a job interview, but I thought that if I wore a dressier shirt and nice shoes it might be okay. Any ideas?

Job Interview Techniques Tips - What Techniques For Job Interviews Do You Need?

  • If you have to choose go with the leggings. In any food prep establishment, you must cover your legs. 3/4 sleeve isn't mandatory, but it's a wise decision.

Jeans are as unacceptable as bringing a friend.

  • go and buy black dress pants.. ask your mommy. just get black dress pants okay and wear a black dress shirt.

  • Look nice, not casual
Any manager is alwaya impressed by how nice and serious you look... Especially first impressions
Leggings is probably the way to go
    'dress for success'
    Hoped this helped

  • Don't wear leggings! You can wear leggings with a skirt OF APPROPRIATE LENGTH but not by themselves. Wear jeans with nice shoes and a nice top if you have no skirts.

  • wear a babydoll dress with those leggings

try a dress or something if you have one

  • Do not wear leggings.

Job Interview Questions: Does being part of the college alumni matter in a job interview?

I have a job interview in a few days at the university I graduated from and I am a member of the alumni. Does that have any bearing at all on whether I get hired or not assuming everything else goes well? Colleges often speak of trying to help their alumni, but do any ever actually put this into practice?

thanks

Bill-

It certainly can't hurt you. It's quite a compliment to the college for one of their students to want to work there. I would let them know in your interview that you enjoyed attending their school and felt you received a quality education. Tell them you will bring your positive college experience to the job. This should benefit present and future students.

Good luck with your interview.
