Job Interview Questions: How do I answer this question in a job interview?

I just graduated college and am in the process of job hunting. I'm finding little to nothing in my desired career so I'm starting to apply for administrative and secretarial positions. I'm anticipating a question such as, "Why do you want this job?" to come up. How do you answer this question when you really don't *want* the job, but rather *need* the job?

I'm obviously not the only person that's had to work jobs they didn't want to do, so how did you answer this question during the interview?

Job Interview Mistakes To Avoid

Recommended Answer:
Just like the person above me mentioned, as much as you would rather have a different job, don't ever say that. You don't have to sound like you are over the moon excited or ready to jump for job, but don't give off the impression that you would rather work anywhere else.

I would say something like you want this job because the environment seems positive, challenging, and the best environment to make use of your skills and training.”

Good luck!

some take 30 mins some take 2 hours good luck x)

  • The interview will take about 30 - 40 minuets it depends upon your interviewer, some questions that they ask is all about your skills, resume, that is what your resume, and skills are for use a professional, high-quality paper for your resume, envelopes, cover letter and thank you note. It provides consistency in your branding. Make it a subtle such as a slightly rose-colored tinted paper, or off-white or your initials tastefully printed in the corner or on the bottom of the page. Make sure not to get ridiculously fancy or gaudy. Keep it tasteful and subtle.

You should wait at least two weeks before they get back to you. If they don't, give them a call and ask if they were still hiring. They'll let you know if they're still sorting through resumes or the interview process is already over.

Job Interview Questions: Does being part of the college alumni matter in a job interview?

I have a job interview in a few days at the university I graduated from and I am a member of the alumni. Does that have any bearing at all on whether I get hired or not assuming everything else goes well? Colleges often speak of trying to help their alumni, but do any ever actually put this into practice?

    thanks

    Bill-

It certainly can't hurt you. It's quite a compliment to the college for one of their students to want to work there. I would let them know in your interview that you enjoyed attending their school and felt you received a quality education. Tell them you will bring your positive college experience to the job. This should benefit present and future students.

    Good luck with your interview.

      1.) Tell me about yourself?
Explain a little bit about who you are: where you are from, how long you've been here, why you would be a good fit for this job (education, etc) and any pertinent interests you may have.

2.) What is your greatest strength/greatest weakness?
Be sure this is relevant to the job. Are you a good motivator? Organizer? Hard worker? Self-starter? Very outgoing? What? Why should they hire you?

3.) Describe a stressful situation and how you handled it?
Let them know who they are hiring. Tell how you handled something well. Make sure it is fairly recent.

Job Interview Questions: How should I wear my very long straight hair messy for a job interview?

I have very long straight hair - it needs a cut really but I hate going to the hairdressers and haven't been for literally years.

I have a job interview on Monday. Normally I wear it in a bun, not a decent messy bun, because I am rubbish at doing stuff with my hair just a tied up and twisted round - but I would like to make an effort to on Monday.

        Any suggestions?

        Really really appreciate any suggestions!
