Job Interview Questions: How to prepeare and act for a job interview?

Im gonna get interviewed at amc theaters and i wana know what i shuld be prepared to say and how to act

Job Interview Basics

Recommended Answer:
Wear nice looking clothes, don't need a suit or anything but a nice pair of jeans and a button down would be fine. They should be clean of course! They will probably ask you a few questions about your work history and why you want to work for them. Try to think of some answers for these questions beforehand. When you are answering questions, try not to say 'umm' 'ahhh' or 'like'. If you need to think about a questions, just pause for a minute and think without making noise to fill the silence.

What To Wear On A Job Interview

  • Be on time for the interview. Shake hands with the interviewer as soon as you meet them. Look them in the eye and call them by name, preferable Mr./Mrs. whatever. I agree with yourbill on the clothing. Make sure you clothes are clean and not wrinkled. Be prepared talk about the jobs that you've had. If you haven't had any other jobs, talk about your experiences volunteering, doing work for friends and neighbors, etc. Show them that you are reliable, will show up on time and when you are scheduled. Find out as much as you can about the job in advance. Read up on customer service and express your belief in how important customer service is. Act mature, professional, polite and enthusiastic about what you can do for them. Obtain a business card from the interviewer. Be sure and thank them for their time and tell them that you look forward to hearing from them soon. One the way home from the interview, pick up a Thank You card from the drug store. As soon as you get home, hand write a Thank You note addressed to the interviewer and mail it immediately. If you don't hear anything from them in about one week, call and speak to the manager and let them know that you are still interested in the job.

They may ask if you have any questions. Avoid asking how much they will pay. You will find that out when they call you with an offer.

This is a lot of information. Hope it helps you!

Job Interview Questions: What would an applicant with Autism or similar say in a job interview, when asked if they were a good team?

player and good communicator? Should they lie and say yes, or say no and never get offered a job?

Job Interview Tips - Winning With Ultimate Research!

Recommended Answer:
Not true. I always say I work best independently. I am very well self-directed. I can work most effectively from a home office as I find the typical office environment distracting. This covers the most difficult to request accommodations for my disability up front. If they say absolutely no to working from home, I know it is a job I won't like. And if team playing is focused on - I know it won't work either.

The No 1 Most Popular Job Interview Question - "Tell Me All About Yourself"

  • I think it would be ok to express your intent to work on it. Something along the lines of "I want to be a team player and communicate effectively" or "my goal is to hone those skills" or some such.
Though they ask that question, most jobs put you working independent of a team most of the time anyway. Especially if you are new to the market place you can confess your inexperience BUT your willingness to put in the effort. If you are being interviewed they pretty much can already see how you communicate.

  • If you can't do the job, don't lie.

I was rarely asked if I was a 'team player'

you need to find a career where being a team player isn't a necessity

there are many jobs that need people who can work independently

  • Square pegs don't fit in round holes. Find a profession where those traits are less important.

Job Interview Questions: What should I exspect from my job interview at petsmart?

I have a job interveiw today at 2:00pm. This is my first interview but my second job. My first job just hired me on the spot. I really want this job! What are some of the questions they will be asking? Someone please help me out!!

Top 10 Tips for Excelling in a Panel Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
I've worked in various types of retail jobs. They all basically ask the similar b.s. questions that they expect some complicated answer to; but it's simple questions requiring simple answers. I've had retail managers who couldn't spell worth a crap, and currently have an assistant manager over me whose verbal word usage, grammar and spelling shocks me. All retail jobs, even manager jobs - aren't that difficult. That's how these people get in. They use their years of retail experience to get into a manager job by sheer time and length of employment - not by smarts. PetSmart is surely no different. They'll ask your strengths and weaknesses, and ask the "Describe a time when you had to go beyond your duty to help a coworker/customer..." type of questions. You'll talk about your experience at your previous job, and they'll ask your duties, etc. Be early for the interview. Leave with plenty of time. I can't stress enough leaving with plenty of time. If you leave later than planned, it's just about guaranteed that many unforeseen obstacles will seem to get in your way and you'll end up late. Be in the store waiting about 15 minutes before the interview. Tell an employee to inform the manager that you are there for the 2:00pm interview and a little early, and will be waiting in the store. Go walk around and look at various things in the store, while waiting on the manager...but stay within a distance so that you can see when he/she is ready to see you. You don't want to go running off so they can't find you; but likewise, you want to show interest in the store in that you are looking around, checking out things, looking at how they merchandise, etc. Basically that part is just for "show"...the job is simple, though.

Do You Make Any of These Top 5 Job Interview Mistakes?

  • I have never interviewed with Petsmart but I have worked in retail before. It is likely that they will ask about your strengths, your weaknesses, how you resolved conflict, and how you define teamwork. I just did a post about common interview questions on my new blog called Jobless Genevieve a few days ago. Feel free to check it out. It was created especially to help unemployed young people and recent jobless graduates with job searching and the job application process. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: What do I say during my cvs job interview?

I have a job interview for CVS as a sales associate. What are things I should say and ask??? what should I wear? I have had a past job in sales(forever21)

Why Should I Hire You? Job Interview Question and Answers

Recommended Answer:
I worked for CVS as a sales associate and shift supervisor. In the interview stress dependability (showing up to work on time). Also stress making the customer #1. Customer service is stressed at CVS. Also emphasize being a team player- helping other workers and looking for stuff that needs doing, like cleaning up the back room, dumping outside trash cans and fronting and facing shelves. Good Luck!

Job Interview Tips That Deliver

Recommended Answer:
Suit. Employers know what is considered the general rule of thumb for a job interview. (most of them at least) You want to wear a black 3 button business suit, with a white or blue shirt and a solid plain tie of a neutral color. They will always look at your appearance and if you follow the general dress code for an interview, they will consider you as someone who knows what you are doing.

Tips For Facing a Job Interview

  • shirt and tie with no blazer.....its only a summer job.

Edit: it doesnt matter, you should wear the blazzer, but you dont want to look very sweaty during the interview.

Job Interview Questions: Does being part of the college alumni matter in a job interview?

I have a job interview in a few days at the university I graduated from and I am a member of the alumni. Does that have any bearing at all on whether I get hired or not assuming everything else goes well? Colleges often speak of trying to help their alumni, but do any ever actually put this into practice?

thanks

Countdown to Job Interview? Know What to Expect and Launch Your New Career

Bill-

It certainly can't hurt you. It's quite a compliment to the college for one of their students to want to work there. I would let them know in your interview that you enjoyed attending their school and felt you received a quality education. Tell them you will bring your positive college experience to the job. This should benefit present and future students.

Good luck with your interview.

Job Interview Questions: Does being asked to do a background check after your job interview basically mean your hired?

So I went in for a job interview about two weeks ago on a friday, the next monday the lady called me back to come in and complete a background check. I came in wednesday of that week and completed it, she said she'd call me when it came in. Its now tuesday of the following week, and I haven't heard back yet. Should I be worried? I thought the background check basically meant I was hired..? Was I wrong to think that?

    Job Interview Tips That Deliver

    Recommended Answer:
No it doesn't , especially if you have a record. They background check everyone.

How to Master a Job Interview

    • As a manager that is responsible for interviewing and hiring a background check does not mean your hired. It means they are interested in you. I would often do background checks on multiple candidates at a time incase one didnt fit what I was looking for.
Background checks can take anywhere from 3 days to a couple of weeks to come in depending on the service used by the company. I had often had background checks come in perfectly clear but not hire the person because some one else might have been better qualified.
So a background check is in no way a guarantee that you will be hired. But it is a good sign so stay optamistic.

    • I'm having the same situation as you , I'll let you know when they call me back.

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview and the person said to meet him at a hotel?

I have a job interview for an internship and the person said to meet at the holiday inn. Does that sound right to you? Do they have like a loby or something for meetings?

8 Job Interview Mistakes You Should Avoid

    Recommended Answer:
It's normal if they are coming to your area from out of the area. I have had interviews like that. Just don't go into their private hotel room with teh door closed - insist on meeting at the restaurant or some other public area or conference room if available

Expert Job Interview Advice From Someone Doing the Hiring

    • I have never heard of that.

    • I think it may be one of those presentation situations where they make you think they are giving you a job, but they are trying to sell you something. So, when you get there, there are a bunch of other people there and you have to sit through this presentation and then they ask for money.
However, if you are familiar with the company and feel comfortable, go ahead and give it a go. If you don't like what you see when you get there, turn around and go home. I could see where a company that does not have a local office would need to use a hotel conference room. Like, if it is a sales job and you will be the independent rep for the company.

    • For interns it sounds very suspicious. For high level executive posts where candidates have to be recruited from other towns or cities most large companies pay for accommodation and meals and the hiring manager will be there to meet you and ensure that you are safe.
