Job Interview Questions: What the worst job interview you have ever had or conducted?

Or what is dumbest thing someone or YOU (lol) said. I am just wondering. Thanks!

How to Get Your Dream Job - The 3 Step Job Interview Process

    Recommended Answer:
i was in an interview for a promotion with three interviewers (senior managers). For one question, while I was answering it and the 3 interviewers are busily writing down my answer, one interviewer stood up suddenly while the other two interviewers were still writing, went to open a window in the room, looked outside for about two minutes....I was freaked out by his behavior. Needless to say, I did not get the promotion. Looking back, and from what I heard later, that interviewer was a racist.

How to Be Prepared For All Types of Job Interviews

    • someone asked me what my parents did for a living. I was 30 years old at the time.

    • I interviewed a guy who thought that because he had a degree from some bogus online university that he was "entitled" (His actual words) to a management position and weekends off. This was a retail environment and NO ONE gets weekends off! I swear that a month later I saw him working at McDonald's.

    • Hiring for retail:

      1. 35 minutes late

      2. "Why do you want to work at ______"
      "I need the cash" -laughs

      3. "How would a good friend describe you?"
      "Uhhh, kind've a grouch." -laughs

Job Interview Questions: How should I dress for a navy civilian job interview?

I have a grey suit with a grey and light blue tie. I also have a black suit with a black and red tie. Also I currently have a goatee with connecting side burns. Should I shave it all off, or can I at least keep the goatee and shorten the sideburns?

    Job Interview Mistakes To Avoid

    Recommended Answer:
In the book job interviews for dummies, it says to dress one step above what the interviewer would be wearing, so will you be interviewed by a Navy officer in their duty uniform (cammies) or a dress uniform or will it be conducted by a civilian in casual clothes or in a suit and tie.

Concerning the goatee and sideburns at least for the interview I would suggest being clean shaved.

    Hopes this helps, Good luck!

    Don't Blow Your Job Interview

    • Grey suit. Never black. It's a job interview, not a funeral.

    • Shave off the hair and go in well groomed, no side burns or goatee, stand proud and be assertive. Keep your hair on your head, but have it trimmed to look professional. Do not wear red in to the interview, wait until you get hired. I have been involved in hiring civilians before, and every time, red turned the desk jockeys off and so did facial hair.

    • Gray suit & blue tie black socks & shoes, shave off the goatee & sideburns.

    • Certainly go with the grey suit. I would recommend removing the goatee and trimming the sideburns to make sure that they look nice and tidy.

Job Interview Questions: What is the generally accepted time for a job interview after application?

How long does it generally take for employers to contact applicants to schedule an interview in person or over the phone? I put in for a job and I know that I'm in the top applicants for the position (in talking with the hiring manager/friend). It hasn't been filled and no interviews have been scheduled. The close date on application was mid July.

Job Interview Questions: What should i wear to my Pizza Hut job interview? ?

i am 16 years old and on thursday i have a job interview with the manager at pizza hut.. Ive never had a job or had to do an interview so i dont really know what would be appropriate to wear.

Job Interviews - 10 Cardinal Sins

      Recommended Answer:
I got a job at Pizza Hut when I was 17. I can't recall what I wore to the interview - but I went to the interview after school. I can assure you that I did NOT wear jeans or clothing with holes in them or that had vulgar things on them. Do not go to the interview looking like you're homeless. It is important to look put together - think about what you might wear if you were meeting the parents of your current "crush" for the first time. I am female and I would wear either a skirt and nice sweater or blouse and some nice jewelry. If you're a male, then wear khaki pants and a button down shirt and make sure your clothing isn't wrinkled. Oh - and make sure your fingernails aren't dirty - that's a turn off and looks like you don't take care of your personal hygiene. Good luck to you.

10 Job Interview Tips That Will Help You Make a Good Impression

      • Don't over dress. Dress like how they dress on the job. If the employees are wearing a polo shirt and jeans, then thats what you wear.

Don't make yourself look over or under qualified. If you show up in your sunday best for a pizza hut interview, I guarantee they will laugh at you after you leave.

      • Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I was raised to always wear at least a necktie to an interview, even driving for Pizza Hut. My son did for a supermarket job, and yes he got it. If you don't have a tie, don't sweat it, but wear the best you got.

      • Your gender would help but, always dress for success. Male, slacks and a button down shirt. Female, skirt and nice blouse. No sandals, avoid sneakers if you can.

Job Interview Questions: I had a job interview last Friday. Is it time to call or should I keep waiting?

I had a job interview last Friday for a major car manufacturer. They told me they needed someone someone quickly. I know its only been three days but how long does it usually take before I hear back from them? Is it too early to call about it?

Job Interview Skills Tips - Sample Interview Thank You Notes

      Recommended Answer:
Make a phone call after about 5 days and be sure to let him or her know of your continued interest in the job. This is also a good opportunity to ask if he or she needs anything or a clarification from you. If not available, leave a message so that they will know you tried to contact them. Another way to follow up for an interview that would not seem so arrogant would be to send a thank you note to the interviewer.

Best Job Interview Tip - You're The STAR

      • Yes! Now give me 10 points!

      • I think you should wait at least a week. If they don't call within a week call them.

      • can you answer my question please?

        answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090826113937AADeH2T

      • I wouldn't call. Send them an email thanking them for taking the time to interview you and that you look forward to hearing back and for the possiblity of joining their team.

      • i dont think there is anything wrong with giving them a call. infact i got my last two jobs because i called them. it was between me and one other person and as i was the one who called they took it that i wanted the job more. now i always ring after a few days. they wont think bad at you for it, you can only see it as a positive thing.

      • The first (and most important thing) to do during an interview is to get a business card from the person you interviewed with and send either a thank you card or an email thanking them for their time. The reason you do that is to pave the way for the call you are going to make to follow up with the interviewing individual as necessary.

That being said, I would call tomorrow morning. Another day won't hurt, and if you were to call today it would be the last day a company would find it unacceptable to receive a call from you.

        Good Luck

Job Interview Questions: What time should I call to follow up on a job interview?

I did a job interview today for a retail position. I'm not certain of how the interview went but I'm pretty sure that I can improve my chances by making a follow-up call later tonight. The question is, what time should I make the call? I know that the two people who interviewed me are holding interviews until at least 6:30. The number I have is a cell phone. I can't wait until tomorrow because they are finalizing their hiring decisions by tomorrow.

Any thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated.

Job Interview Preparation - How to Create That Powerful First Impression

      Recommended Answer:
The best time to call is in the early morning right away when the business opens that way the manager is not busy and he/she is fresh in the morning with a cup of coffee. They will be more than happy and will respect that a lot because nothing is on their mind with other things being in the way.
For example, if they open at 8AM, then call at 8:01am. If they don't answer the phone, leave a brief message to call you back at your convenience.
      Good luck.
