Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I got a call yesterday from Vgs, a grocery store. I'm being interviewed for the night shift. I know I should dress nice but the interview is tomorrow at 10am and I have no money to buy something new. I have NO dress clothes. I spent all day going through my clothes and found a black pair of jeans but no shirts I have go with them (blacks don't match, looks very "frumpy") I'm very nervous and really need this job. Can someone help me?

The Three Secrets of Winning Job Interviews

Recommended Answer:
i'm sure black jeans and flats (hopefully you have some) will be just fine. So you really don't have any button down or dress shirts? can you borrow any? if not, and if you dont have any money go to the salvation army or something in the morning and get something as cheap as you can. If you seriously dont have a dime, im sure if you tell them your going for an interview they might give you something lol.

but then again... it's a grocery store i'm sure they dont care too much. and i'm sure your outfit won't be the worst they've seen. Just do really good at your interview so they remember you for that and not what you wore.

Tips For Job Interviews - Common Job Interview Questions and Answers

  • a clean pair of pants -not jeans- and a nice shirt will be fine. wear nice shoes. print out at least 3 copies of your resume for all who will interview you. act confidently, be honest, and maintain eye contact. be sure to ask questions & neogiate salary and days off. after receiving a paycheck or 2, invest in one nice outfit.

Job Interviewing Techniques - 8 Steps for Successful Interviews

I worked at Fitch- but the questions were very basic and the interview didn't last long. Nothing really stumped me but I can't remember any specific questions that were asked. Be prepared for a potential group interview, as Abercrombie tends to get a lot of applicants and the employee turnover is quick. I was interviewed by the Assistant Manager and two other applicants were interviewed with me.

Abercrombie is all about being "natural" so don't have any facial piercings in or any more than one in each ear. No crazy hair highlights or makeup either (they used to make me wash mine off if it was noticeable).

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview at walmart tomorrow. Help?

I have a job interview tomorrow and I need some advice. What to wear and how should I carry myself. Another thing is: The last job I had only lasted 2 months...what do I say to the lady if she asks me about my last job? And does this mean I'll get hired since she wants to schedule a interview?

    Recommended Answer:
Dress professionally even if the job is just entry-level. If you're male, wear a nice button up shirt, slacks and a tie. If you're female, a woman's suit, skirt and blouse, slacks and nice top or dress would be appropriate.

If your last job only lasted 2 months, don't mention it unless the person interviewing you asks about it. If you are asked about it, just be honest with the reason (say, the position was temporary only lasting 2 months, there were cutbacks due to the economy and you were laid off, etc.). The only time you shouldn't be 100% honest is if you were fired. Then say something like, "the job was not a good match for me".

Just because you've been given an opportunity for an interview doesn't mean that you will automatically be hired. The interview is the chance for you to show that you are the right person for the job. Explain to the interviewer what makes you the best person to hire.

    • Its just walmart!
just act like you care about the costumers and are a very helpful person, and if you are
      then good for you =]
Dress casual i dont think you would have to dress up TO much.
If she asks you about your last job you dont HAVE to tell her how long you worked there.
      unless she asks i guess...
And no the interview doesnt mean youre gonna get hire it just means you MIGHT get hire.

    • Sorry, they probably won't hire you. I don't think you are dumb enough to be a Wal-mart employee.

    Recommended Answer:
I'd probably try and go for something similar to the style of clothing they sell at Bank :)

From what I can see if I am on the right web site, a cool T-shirt with a print, some jeans, and flats should suffice.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I've never been to a job interview, I know the whole idea is to make a good first impression but I have no idea what I should be wearing.
I'm 18 and it's a part-time job at small cafe in town, so obviously I shouldn't dress up.
What would you recommend I wear? Colours/style?
      Thank you.

wear a summery dress that is simple, casual, not too short, not too bright, not sexy... check out urban outfitters. i think a dress like this or ones of the ones from the 'more ideas' thing below would be perfect: www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/cat… and definately wear the belt with it :) trust me, i don't think they really care what you wear. i mean its a CAFE!

      • Ha ha Natasha ha ha.......
You said "........, so obviously I shouldn't dress up."

        Now that is funnyyyyy.Okay seriously:

Since it's a part time cafe, go in any casual dress without being too flashy or gaudy. Let your simplicity show...

        Then wear your best smile.

Possibly they'll give you a uniform to wear later....so your dress for the interview won't really matter.

      • Don't look hot ! Go for elegant and smart, wear black, white and grey. Soft make up, if you want to go for a shirt, make sure it's not too short, but don't worry about which type of clothes you should wear, as long as it looks nice. Best outfit is black trousers and whit top, good luck !

      • Business casual is probably fine. Usually black or dark pants and a nice shirt will do - don't go sleeveless - if it's warm, find a nice short sleeve shirt. I would recommend a solid colors - no wild patterns.

      • wear casual , but not too much , and use medum colors (i mean don't wear pink) , and look elegant, and if the person who you will talk with is a man , you should look a bit hot ;)

      • Go naked

Job Interview Questions: Any tips on a job interview at a credit union?

OK, I have a job interview at a Credit Union this afternoon for a Member Services Rep position. I really want this job. I hate my current job. I can never do anything right in my bosses' eyes. I feel like I'm being treated like a child, and the pay is just terrible. Any suggestions for my interview this afternoon? I previously worked at a grocery store as a cashier and loved that job. I love handling money. Anything I can say or do at my interview to insure I get the job?

      Job Interview Mistakes!

      Recommended Answer:
Member Service Reps are the "face" of the credit union to the public. The CU is looking for someone who is friendly, helpful, and competent. They want someone who will "go the extra mile" for its members. If you can give an example or two of how you have gone above and beyond in your current or previous jobs, that will be helpful.

One of the key points about credit unions is they serve members, not customers. Since credit unions are financial cooperatives, the people who deposit money are member-owners, not customers. Essentially, the members are your boss. Try to use the word member in place of customer -- it will impress the credit union because most people don't know there is a difference.

If you have a few minutes, go to the credit union's website and read the "about us" section. It will help you understand more about the credit union. If you have a few more minutes, go to cuna.org and read a little about credit union history.

      Hope this helps. Good luck!
