Job Interview Questions: What should I wear? (JOB INTERVIEW)?

I'm 15 and I have a job interview at a bakeshop Wednesday at 11. This would be my first job interview and I'm not sure what to wear. I have a lot of clothes so any suggestions would really help. Thanks!! :)

The Complete Job Interview Process

Recommended Answer:
Technically, you shouldn't wear jeans to a job interview.

You really want to show a potential employer that you can be composed yet yourself. Dress semi-professionally. You should wear something along the lines of dark trousers or, even better for someone of your age, khakis and a nice, simple button-down shirt. Dress conservatively, but don't be afraid to add a little jewelry.

The employer wants to be enchanted by your personality, not bombarded by your wardrobe. :)

  • A nicely fitted feminine button up shirt and dark skinny jeans would look great for a interview! Hope I helped :)

  • Try to look clean and professional. No low tank tops and booty shorts.

  • Nice jeans or a different type of nice pants and maybe a blouse. :D

Job Interview Questions: Should I tell the truth in my job interview?

I'm nearly sixteen years old and I'm going to interview for my first job at a restaurant. I have a fairly high chance of getting it - I'm very responsible and mature for my age, and I know a lot of people who work there (including the man interviewing me). However, I'm leaving for a boarding school in August. Should I mention this in my interview or will it cost me the job?

Trying To Get A Job? Do Away With These Job Interview Booboos

Recommended Answer:
Mention it if they ask. You don't want to lie; it could come back to bite you later. Also, I can't say much since I don't know specifics about what kind of restaurant, etc., but its possible all they need is employees for the summer or something similar to that.

I am the hiring manager at a facility that hires 16 year olds and keeping one of my new hires for 8 months would be fantastic, so I wouldn't worry about the boarding school.

The Top Job Interview Tips

  • Just tell them straight out. One day or another they will find out about this in someway because secrets cannot be hidden, especially in your first job. Tell me the full truth, and they may even think of you as an even honest person since your saying it in a complete answer. If it does cost you, then always remember, you will be happy that you did the good deed (;

  • There is no need to mention it at this point. I would act as if nothing is happening b/c a lot can happen between now and then. For example tragedy could strike your family, and then you may decide not to go to this school. ANYTHING can happen between now and then. You really do not have to mention it at all. Good luck on your interview.

  • Do you want the job? OK, then don't mention it. And as for people saying "if they ask, tell them" Why would they ask that?? How stupid. Don't mention it and even if they do find out later, so what?? You aren't required to keep this job forever and August is 6 months from now.

  • Well august is a few months away, don't mention it yet. Who knows, you may not even be able to keep the job. Dont risk anything. But if it does come to it, inform your boss when the time comes. Not now, I don't feel like that would be appropriate.

  • If you're known as a responsible and mature person and you know several people there already, you'd better tell the truth. Why ruin your good reputation with a lie? If you don't tell them, what? Walk out in August? Surprise!!! Nope, tell the truth.

  • Oh, you'll think about it.

Very very doubtful that they will find out about it.
If they do and they ask, you can decide then if you want the job enough to tell them or you want to withdraw your application.

Job Interview Questions: At my job interview should I give them the original letter of recommendation or a copy?

I have my first job interview for a nursing position on Monday, and I was wondering - should I bring the original letters of recommendation to show them, as well as copies for them to keep for themselves? How does that work? Thanks

    Recommended Answer:
A copy is fine, you should have the originals, but they probably aren't relly interested in those letters yet. I guess you can bring them just in case...it's not liek they'll say no if you offer them. You shold consider scanning the letters so you have them in an electronic format for email. Most people don't like handling paper anymore.

    Best of luck

    • Yes, I think you have it right. Put the originals in a binder and have copies or let them make a copy.

    • Hey I'm 17 too! hey hun don't stress too much! wear something semi formal..you don't have to look like you work at an office! well wear something that you feel comfortable in..but something that is presentable! good luck on the interview by the way! i'm sure you'll do great! =) <3 xx

    • try not to look too formal, its not an office interview after all,

maybe a skinny jeans, with nice top and a jacket with some flowerr attached to it- stylish but not too casual nor too formal.

    • For him:

trousers, shirt long sleeves, don't put too much of perfume, gel or cap

      For her;
skirt not too short (or trousers),no leggings if u'r wearing skirts(shave ur legs),blouse not too heavy I mean simple and not too stylish and not dark coloured ones

Be confident and be sure of what u r talking
Don't act smart be what u r don't flatter urself
If u got the job be happy and if u don't be prepared for the next!

    • First of all, you should always be prepared. So, prepare answers for questions they might ask. Google "Interview questions" or something like that, and document the answers to those questions. Writing down the answers help you to remember them, so when they ask you a question similar to that you already know the answer. The last thing you want to do is be sitting there thinking of an answer. As for your attire, i've gone ahead & created an outfit on Polyvore.com - www.polyvore.com/simple_but_impre… I've incorporated alot of neutrals in the outfit, because its not BRIGHT and really says "sophistication" & "class". If you feel like wearing a dress, go for a simple, plain colour e.g. nude, champagne brown, preferably something not too short. Makeup should be simple and natural (as exemplified in the photo) and when you pull your hair back it appears more professional than when its down. Jewellery shouldn't be over bearing or oversized. Maybe just a small pair of pretty earrings and a watch etc. Good luck & i hope i helped ! :)
