Job Interview Questions: Job interview- appearance questron?

I am going for a job interview on the weekend and I am a little nervous I won't get the job because I have a small yellow stain on my front tooth. It's for a coffee shop. What do you think?

Employment Information - Job Interview Preparation

Recommended Answer:
present your self the best way you know how. if they don't hire you because of that, the hell with them.

How to Face a Job Interview Successfully

  • Teeth is internal , they simply look for how your dress and present yourself. You have no worries at all, don't even think about it and just show them your interested and your the one for the job, a stained tooth is not gonna be in mind, it's about being the best participant and showing them you got what it takes! Most of all good luck!

  • I wouldn't worry about it at all. I have quite odd looking teeth (as in they are all over the place and I wear braces) but I have never had a problem getting a job. Just be confident, smiley and enthusiastic and I am sure that they will love to have you on their staff.
    Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: Average time to wait for a job offer after an interview?

About a week and a half ago I had a job interview for a "team member" position at caribou coffee. I thought that it went pretty well but I still haven't gotten a response. Do you think that I should give this one up and apply for a different job, or is there still hope for a reply?
    Thanks!

What To Do And Not To Do In A Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
I don't know if I would send a thank you letter now (like someone mentioned above). It has been a week. Those should be sent right away. You never know, you might still get the job. Some companies schedule either a few days or few weeks of job interviews. So I personally won't say “no you aren't going to get the job,” but I wouldn't count on it either.

Start applying for more jobs again; have a backup plan just in case.

    Good luck!

Job Interview Preparation - The Tips & Tricks You Need to Know

    • It depends. Give it a week, no sooner, no less. But, make SURE to send a thank you note - they didn't have to interview. And it shows your good nature and that the job is important to you . Never overlook this detail!

After a week, send a brief, polite, non-pushy email to the person you have been corresponding with to set up the interview and ask them what the status is and that you are "still very interested" in the job:)

      Hope this helps!

    • One overlooked thing that most job seekers over look is the follow up. It is so simple to drop a little post card or letter that thanks your potential employer for the interview. I guarantee 90% of your competition did not do this. Do you think this would separate you from the rest that may be applying for the same job. You have to be a bit different. You have to be remembered when you are competing for a job in today's market.

I would even take it a step further and ad a little humor. Attach a coffee bean to your card and write something like "I've BEAN thinking of our interview" Thanks Again for the opportunity.

      Dare to be different.

    • It's possible they are lazy and slow so they maybe interviewed people for a full week and require another week to decide. If you don't hear back after 2 weeks have passed, i would certainly give up.

But still.. they should have found someone by now, so i would say the odds of you getting the job are not very good.

    • Hi! As a professional chef and graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts I recommend always to follow-up immediately with a thank you letter. Thanking the employer for taking time to interview you. After that I would give them the end of the week before I would do a personal follow-up. In other words? Go there now! Its been too long!! lol I hope this helped. Good luck!

    • For a "team member" position at a coffee place, it shouldn't take more than a few days. Sorry.

    • ring them up and ask them - that wya they will know you are still interested

they may have interviewed a few applicants who were quite good

keep applying for jobs in the meantime though

    • Less than one week

Job Interview Questions: Job interview questions :S - medical receptionist../office assistant?

I just finished college and I am waaay too nervous about my first real job interview. I have 2 diplomas, one as a medical office assistant and one as a medical administrative assistant. I am basically applying for the receptionist job at doctor's office, preferably as the girl who calls people into the office (dressed in scrubs, not dressed up). I am just wondering what kind of interview questions to expect? And what to say if I get the tell me about yourself question, cause I know that gets asked alot. Thanks :)

Ways to Hugely Boost Your Job Interview Success Rate

    Recommended Answer:
I teach medical front office and medical billing and coding. I was an office manager for five years and interviewed and trained many applicants. This is in no particular order, just how it came to mind.

This may sound strange but take a deep breath relax and just go in and have fun with it. Don't worry about saying something wrong. People who are worried about making mistakes tend to make more mistakes.

I don't ever start with the "tell me about yourself" question but rather begin by telling the applicant about the position. I watch for a smile, body language, attitude, etc. Lean forward in your seat, smile, nod and ask questions for clarification as needed. I have learned there are two things I can not teach--attitude and common sense. You either have the proper attitude of service and have compassion or you do not.

However, whenever they ask you to tell them about yourself tell them what got you interested in the medical front office--your Mom or aunt works in the field, a doctor helped you after you had an illness or accident (as long as it has completely resolved like a broken leg) or whatever. Tell them you enjoy helping people, you like to keep busy, you are interested in the business aspects of the practice and so forth. Talk about your skills with taking messages, doing appropriate follow up and that you strictly comply with HIPAA.

Know that you are unique in wanting to work in the front office. For every four back office medical assistants there is only one person who trains to be a front office assistant. Also emphasize that you have also been trained in medical billing if you have. Many of my medical billing and coding students got hired for a front office position because they already knew about the billing aspects of the practice.

If you worked somewhere else before like Starbucks, mention how you enjoyed helping the customers, anticipating their needs, getting to know them by name. Talk about your transferable skills such as handling money, doing inventory etc. I look for an applicant who is friendly, warm, professional, honest, punctual, has a good attitude and is a good team player. If they give you tests they will be as interested in your attitude towards them as how you do. Accuracy is even more important than speed.

DO NOT ASK ABOUT MONEY! That is up to them to bring up. It may not be brought up until the second interview. If they ask you how much you would like to earn ask them how much they would expect to pay. In general whomever names a figure first has the disadvantage. You may be surprised at how much they are willing to offer you.

If they push you for an amount give tell them that it really depends upon the entire compensation package and then give them a wide range of hourly salary. Say the lowest you want to go it $10 an hour. Give them a range of $12 an hour up to 15 or 16. You may have to start out with less than you like but in this economy folks are happy to have a job and realize that they are paying you to learn. Whatever they offer, get the offer in writing and then tell them you need to talk to your husband, think about it or whatever. Unless they offer something beyond your wildest dreams don't accept it until the next day unless they really push you. If you don't like the money you may wish to ask for a performance and wage review after three months. Get that in writing too.

Job Interview Questions: What are questions I could as a salon owner at a job interview?

Im an up and comming cosemtologist and I have my 2nd job interview at a salon and I need to have questions ready to ask...please help!

    Job Interview Success

    Recommended Answer:
Well I help hold many interviews with my company. Things we ask are

    1. What are three attributes that you could bring to the team
    2. Whats your biggest accomplishment so far (should be business NOT personal)
    3. And why would you be a good for our company

When in an interview... ONLY talk professions/business. A business owner doesn't really care about your personal achievements. They are interested in how you can better their company and make them more money. Sell yourself as an investment.

    Hope this helps!

Job Interview Questions: Is it appropriate to mention the bad economy during a job interview?

What do you say to a potential employer asks you during a job interview 'How come you haven't found a job by now?' or something to that effect? Is it appropriate to mention the bad economy and there scarce jobs? What would be a good way to say it? Have an interview this evening. Thanks!

Job Interview Tips to Employment Success

      Recommended Answer:
It is best to answer questions with an optimistic viewpoint.

For example you can say: Despite the current economic situation, I'm actively looking and feel positive that would find something fitting my expectations soon.

The Top 3 Job Interview Questions Asked To College Students -- And Exactly How To Answer Them!

      • You don't want to make it sound like you're settling on this company because you can't get a job anywhere else. If they ask you why you haven't found a job by now, I would tell them that it's been very difficult to find anyone that is hiring right now due to the poor economy and job market. I can't imagine that an interviewer would ask that question right now, since it's pretty obvious. I've never had someone ask me a question like that, so I wouldn't worry. Do your best to be honest, but to let them know that you look forward to working for their company and don't plan on leaving for something better as soon as the economy picks back up.

      • Have you had someone ask this? Most would ask the reason for a lengthy period between jobs, in which you could say that you have actively been seeking employment. In addition, if you took a class or any training during this period, you could say that you were furthering your eduation and/or skills. Try to avoid talking about the bad economy because the interviewer may see it as you are making excuses. Besides, anyone half-way intelligent realizes that jobs are scarce and that there are many qualified people fighting for few jobs. Good luck tonight!

      • It would be odd if an interviewer asked that, but if they do you could say you were looking for solid company with a proven track record in whatever field/industry. You could add you weren't just looking for any old job, but one that has blah-blah-blah, advancement opportunities, etc. Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: How to do my hair for a job interview tomorrow?

I have long (an inch or two below my shoulders), thick, completely straight medium-brown hair. I also have a job interview tomorrow for an accounting firm. I am 21, but I look like I'm still in high school. (people ask me if I'm home schooled when I go shopping during school hours.)
How should I do my hair for a professional job interview tomorrow? I was thinking just a low pony tail, but is that too informal? Help please!

Job Interviews Should Be As Easy As Trying on a Pair of Shoes

      Recommended Answer:
I would try a mature hairstyle, a low ponytail could work, but add a little something. Make a low pony, but leave a small section of hair out under the elastic. Wrap that strand then around the elastic for a more sophisticated look. I would just try something that could get you to look older or your age.

      help me out too!
