  • research this on line

Job Interview Questions: How can I do good at a job interview?

I'm 17 and i will be applying for a job at one of the supermarkets in my town. I will probably get a job interview. I had an interview for another place a few months ago but it didnt go so well.

The Values That You Should Have in a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
    dress neatly
answer no sir (mam) yes sir
answer questions directly and don't ramble
    sit up straight
    make eye contact
    sell yourself

The Job Interview Process - What to Expect

    • Always smile, shake hands, be confident.. and tell them what they want to hear... sometimes honesty, is not always the best policy.

    • Know something about the supermarket and the specific job you are applying for at the store.
If the store is in your neighborhood take a walk through the store, familiarize yourself with the store, and use the information if appropriate in the interview.
Be well groomed, dress appropriately(no jeans), be on time.
Speak well, speak clearly, make eye contact, show some enthusiasm, greet interviewer with a handshake, relax. If you have former work experience go over what your responsibilities were, if you had any similar work experiences let interviewer know, you want to impress the interviewer that you will work hard, that the job is important to you.
Don't forget everyone this store hires is important to the operation of the store, and they expect a good job from you.
Be prepared, bring your Social Security card, driver's license(if you have one), any government identification necessary, have with you a list of any previous work places, their address, list of your schools, address, and if you need a reference bring the name, address, and telephone number of a responsible adult reference(family friend, former employer, teacher, etc.) if necessary.
      Good luck!

    • The prospective employer should see the salesman in you even before you make your first sale.

      1. Go to the interview like you're about to face a business prospect. Learn about the prospect's needs (in the sales jobs interview, your interviewer), such as what they are looking for in a sales consultant and how you will fit in the position.

      2. Prepare your presentation as you would show a new sales idea to your bosses. Your presentation contents would be your sales experience chronologically presented in detail, including the techniques you used to arrive at your results. Highlight stories based on the qualifications a certain company wants.

      3. Find and prepare documents you will use in the interview, such as extra copies of your resume, your portfolio, and other professional works. For new graduates, never fail to bring your college transcript.

      4. Wear presentable sales jobs interview attire and arrive early, at least 15 minutes before your interview schedule.

      5. Review anticipated questions or, if you can, role-play the interview by asking a friend to act as your interviewer. It would be easier to practice answering questions this way than saying them all in your head.

What To Do And Not To Do In A Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
well i do have job experience in being a salesman at radioshack, a telemarketer sales agent over the phone selling health coverage, and being a waiter whitche i have learned strong communication skills so my strongest advice to you is this and if you use these tips you should be a shoe in
    you must appear presentable
smile and be happy show them you have enthusiasm apeear with lighte attitude but also seriouse and about buissnes responsibilty and ready to work
if you are young and this is youre first job and they ask why do you need this money and this job tell them aboutr youre goals and youre plans and responsibnilys for youre not to distant future but be also realistic and dont show them you are planning to ahead but also show them that you do have youre eyes straigthe forward and ready to work and that you are responsible but do not tell them too mutche about youre personell life just what mainly has too do with the job and try too really get along and be vibrant and also life licke
and also you can tell them that you are familiar to the store or the name brand of the store if you are
then that would be the truthe then they would know that you are not exactgley new tro the company and alreadey kn ow kinda what to expect from the company well from the custmers point of view and they willl figyure you can learn the workers point of view as well being that you are alreadey used to the company being that you are and were a frequent visitore
so you can not really tell them to mutche with no experienc but if you show them you are
    ready to work
a person readey to communicate with customers if needed and listen to the manager
and show them you are kind,, smart friendly, and vibrant, show them you listen to the communication you should be a shoe in also as well
if they ask you why do you need this job plus this money tell them then about you plans and goals like and how i explained earlier a little something like that
if they ask why jc penney a good reason, like you agree with the companey standards you shop theyre frenquentley and felt it would be a good place to work cause of youre frequent visits and or also
because it is near youre home whitche means you will always be on time and early and alway tell them you will be able to macke it on time and wil alsways show for work and will call in if you think you may be late and tell them that you have reliable transportation i guess i should of explained this earlier and also to them reliable transportatin is a must so if you know you can macke it on time evereyday and show up for work then you have reliable transportation to work even if it is the city bus
but to them i thionk reliable transportation means will you be able to macke it on time evereyday
but it doesnt mean you have to have a car you can walcke tacke the bus of course you shouldnt walcke if it is too far but still if you know you casn macke it on time evereday and show up fopr work then you have pretty mutche reliable transpiortation so if they ask you do you have reliable transportation say yes and yopu should do well for answering to them yes and if they ask you can you macke it on time and show up say yes and tell them also you know if you know that you migthe not be able to macke it you will call in atleast a day before but you will be sure to call in also
you will call and let them know you may be late if you feel you may be lat and this will be good for you to say at youre interview and just know if they ask you do you have reliable transportation even thougthe they may say this means you have a car or this means you got a ride but really im not sure how they tacke that question and what that question really means i know reliable transportatin means a reliable way to get to work so i guess even if you walcke ride a bicke tacke the bus really if you know youll mack it on time and show up youll be allrigthe if you tacke this advice and use it im sure i wanna say youll get the job or atleast a verey good chance well good luck and also show you are
and try to win them over with people skills and some good old fashioned charm just be youreself and do youre best and show thenm you are responsible hardworking intelligent and vibrant but if you ask
i think to ace the interview has alot to do with a persistent attitude an show them you ready to work and have and also i think when i use my charm or use some charm you know be youreself and feal good and stand tall be happy well good luck

Job Interview Questions: What to wear for a job interview for hollister?

ok, so i am having a job interview for Hollister Co. a lot of ppl had told me to wear hollister cloth, but to be honest i don't have any..i have a couple of shirts but they are old. so if you guys give me some advice i would appreciated..oh and for those who are wondering, why would i want to work there..i just need a job and what ever store is dosen't matter. yeah.. haha

Job Interview Advice - Impress the Interviewer and Get the Job

      Recommended Answer:
Well, if you don't want to buy any Hollister clothing, you can never go wrong with beachy clothes ;-) Flip Flops, ripped jean shorts, tanks, flowy hair. Goodluck :)
      OR-
borrow clothes from someone, that's a good idea too :)
      xoxo mly<3

Finishing and Leaving Your Job Interview

      • Well wearing hollister would show that you're interested in the company, so what those people said is right. I suggest something kind of casual but not too casual, something casual proffesional is how I'll put it. Something like dark skinny jeans (no rips or tears or any type of worn wear), black gladiator shoes (no jewels on em or anything too flashy, make em cute fashionable and classy), a cute flowy tank (you know, with the ruffles down the middle, I saw one at nordstroms, it should be a light color to blance out the dark jeans) and a classy blazer-like jacket over it (in nuetral tone color, should look good with the tank).. I hope this helped a little!

      • You don't have to wear hollister just try not to wear a shirt with a logo of another company written on it, they probably wouldn't like that. But you might want to try and get some hollister clothes b/c from what i've heard you have to either wear there clothes when you work there or something that looks like there clothes.

      • do you have to wear something from hollister? i know you do to work there but really.... why dont you wear a nice summery top, maybe hollister/a+f jeans, and some cute shoes

      • Whatever you do. Dont wear Aero OR American Eagle..
Wear Either Hollister Or Abercrombie [why abercrombie? b/c hollister is a branch of Abercrombie]
Borrow Some shirts from a friend if you dont have any..

      • Yeah if I were you I would buy some clothes from Hollister or borrow some from a friend. Just stick to Hollister shirt, jeans, and any flipflops. Good luck :)

      • U don't have 2 were stuff from hollister! Just were regular stuff like a t shirt & jeans but dont were a shirt that has a different companise logo!

      • banana republic, j.crew, or some preppy store like that. or google search womens nautical belts :)

      • what she said ↑

      • Hollister wants you to wear THEIR product. If you're looking for a job to actually MAKE money, this isn't it. You'll spend your whole paycheque on their clothes so you have something you can wear to work. I worked in high-end fashion retail for a while and it was a must that I wore the products. Since they weren't cheap (designer never is), I rarely made any profit. However, I do have a killer timeless wardrobe to show for it. If you're going to work in clothes then pick somewhere that sells clothes you'll wear in five years.
If you're trying to build up a wardrobe with a decent staff discount then Hollister is ok, but if you're looking to make money I'd try elsewhere.
Also, if you have any scent allergies run far far far away. Their perfume clouds are vicious.
Check their website and find their 'look'. Try to model it as closely as possible. If you don't own any Hollister shirts or pants that's fine. Just wear something that looks similar. Avoid clothes with words and labels printed clearly on them. Go for something preppy casual but moderately conservative. Too-short shorts and too-low tops belong on the beach, not the workplace.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview questions :S - medical receptionist../office assistant?

I just finished college and I am waaay too nervous about my first real job interview. I have 2 diplomas, one as a medical office assistant and one as a medical administrative assistant. I am basically applying for the receptionist job at doctor's office, preferably as the girl who calls people into the office (dressed in scrubs, not dressed up). I am just wondering what kind of interview questions to expect? And what to say if I get the tell me about yourself question, cause I know that gets asked alot. Thanks :)

Ways to Hugely Boost Your Job Interview Success Rate

      Recommended Answer:
I teach medical front office and medical billing and coding. I was an office manager for five years and interviewed and trained many applicants. This is in no particular order, just how it came to mind.

This may sound strange but take a deep breath relax and just go in and have fun with it. Don't worry about saying something wrong. People who are worried about making mistakes tend to make more mistakes.

I don't ever start with the "tell me about yourself" question but rather begin by telling the applicant about the position. I watch for a smile, body language, attitude, etc. Lean forward in your seat, smile, nod and ask questions for clarification as needed. I have learned there are two things I can not teach--attitude and common sense. You either have the proper attitude of service and have compassion or you do not.

However, whenever they ask you to tell them about yourself tell them what got you interested in the medical front office--your Mom or aunt works in the field, a doctor helped you after you had an illness or accident (as long as it has completely resolved like a broken leg) or whatever. Tell them you enjoy helping people, you like to keep busy, you are interested in the business aspects of the practice and so forth. Talk about your skills with taking messages, doing appropriate follow up and that you strictly comply with HIPAA.

Know that you are unique in wanting to work in the front office. For every four back office medical assistants there is only one person who trains to be a front office assistant. Also emphasize that you have also been trained in medical billing if you have. Many of my medical billing and coding students got hired for a front office position because they already knew about the billing aspects of the practice.

If you worked somewhere else before like Starbucks, mention how you enjoyed helping the customers, anticipating their needs, getting to know them by name. Talk about your transferable skills such as handling money, doing inventory etc. I look for an applicant who is friendly, warm, professional, honest, punctual, has a good attitude and is a good team player. If they give you tests they will be as interested in your attitude towards them as how you do. Accuracy is even more important than speed.

DO NOT ASK ABOUT MONEY! That is up to them to bring up. It may not be brought up until the second interview. If they ask you how much you would like to earn ask them how much they would expect to pay. In general whomever names a figure first has the disadvantage. You may be surprised at how much they are willing to offer you.

If they push you for an amount give tell them that it really depends upon the entire compensation package and then give them a wide range of hourly salary. Say the lowest you want to go it $10 an hour. Give them a range of $12 an hour up to 15 or 16. You may have to start out with less than you like but in this economy folks are happy to have a job and realize that they are paying you to learn. Whatever they offer, get the offer in writing and then tell them you need to talk to your husband, think about it or whatever. Unless they offer something beyond your wildest dreams don't accept it until the next day unless they really push you. If you don't like the money you may wish to ask for a performance and wage review after three months. Get that in writing too.

There are some really common questions you should expect in about every retail interview. Here's some of them:

      - Tell me about yourself (Your professional and customer service career, as opposed to, "I was born in blah blah blah.)
      - Why do you want to work here? (Research the company's website and mention something impressive about the company, not something like, "I want money.")
      - What are your strengths? (Come up with a list first and then choose your most appealing traits or the ones most relevant to the job you're seeking.)
      - Why should we hire you? (Sort of similar to the strengths question. Explain some of your strengths relevant to the position.)
      - What does customer service mean to you? (This one is kind of tricky for me, but it probably won't hurt to explain a time you provided great customer service.)

Useful Tips in Handling Job Interviews

      • tell me about urself?
        y shud we hire u?
wat salary are u looking for?
        describe ur previous job? duties?
deending on the job they may ask u situations and then ask if u were in that situation wat u wud do

you should definitely wear dress pants, a button-down shirt, and a nice tie. remember, dress to impress. it's a lot easier to under-dress at an interview than it is to over-dress.
don't wear a polo or a suit, i think the in-between outfit is the best for this job interview.
make sure you don't look scrubby. wash your face, do your hair, clip your fingernails, and wear nice dress shoes.
