Job Interview Questions: Had a job interview a week ago, should I follow up?

I had, what I thought, was a fantastic interview a week ago. We were laughing and talking quite a bit. The interview (I ended up doing the first and second, one after the other) lasted an hour and a half. I was told I would receive a call. But I haven't yet.

Yesterday was Civic Holiday so the store was closed. I don't want to seem too pushy and annoying by calling back but I feel out of the loop.

Thanks!

Job Interview Questions: Should I wear a tie to a job interview at the same company at which I work?

Normally wear nice jeans and a dress shirt to work. I can agree on wearing a suit... but should the suit include a tie? I think ties are sometimes silly.

The Easy Way to Answer Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
For an interview, go with shirt and tie. If you don't usually wear one, it will show how much you want the promotion. Good Luck!!

Nifty Tips For Winning a Job Interview - A Must Look

  • It wouldn't be a bad idea to wear a tie. It would show that you respect the interview and the position you're applying for. You could always take the tie and the suit jacket off after the interview.

A good rule of thumb is dress for the job you want, not the job you have. If the new position will require a tie, then definitely wear a tie.

  • If you are going to wear a suit, definately wear a tie.
Another option, depending on where you work, is a nice shirt with a tie.

You need to judge based on where you work. You generally want to look better than a normal work day, to show you are serious about this and to be taken seriously. When you see people wearing suits there, do they wear a tie? If so - wear one! It doesn't matter if you think the tie looks silly, it's what is respected there.

    Good luck!

  • Always your turn ot will show interviewer how serious you are, even though you know every in the room it is etiquette of modern day interviews.

  • The company already knows what you wear to work, so why give them false impressions.

  • yes - remember you are going to a job interview, even if its at your own company. dress for the interview not your job . gl (:>))

  • I would say go with the tie. They may be silly, but to most business's' they say professional.

  • Just like everyone else said: Yes, wear a tie! A suit without a tie just says you don't quite care enough to give "110%".

Well you can start out by dressing up not too fancy just nice. Make sure you know your resume or application. Practice with a friend with the questions you think they would ask. Research a little about the place so that if they ask you about the store or company you'll have an answer. Sit up straight and don't figet.Be excited but calm, and just be yourself. Remember to smile, it goes a long way. I'm sure you'll do great.

Learn How To Win The Job Interview Test!

  • I'd say to dress professional. If you're gonna wear a suit, stick with the business colors, blue or black. Can't remember where I learned that from. Just stay calm, yes even though its a job interview, its still just an interview. Being nervous doesn't help...just remember, the person you're talking to was in the same position you are in right now at some point in their life. In other words, they're human like you. Hope all goes well :)

  • Smile, always look at the interviewer, and don't be nervous! good luck

  • I would suggest something stylish. I would be very surprised if anyone there had on a suit. I wouldn't where jeans but I a 3 piece suit is not the answer. keep the accessories simply and maybe 1 piece from their collection. Target sells the brand. Try fitted pants and a button down. a cute cardigan and wide leg pants. a simple dress or pencil shirt and top.

Job Interview Questions: Can I take my kid to a job interview?

I have a 3 year old daughter that I would need to take with me to a job interview. I simply cant afford to pay daycare for going to job interviews and have nobody that could watch her during the day. If I get a job, then I could afford daycare and it would not be a problem. Not sure how a interviewer would react if I took her with me to meet them.

    Prepare For Your Job Interview

I know you're in a tight spot but think about it: you're hiring someone to do (whatever) and they bring their child, what would you assume about that person? Probably think "if they can't find someone to take their child for a hour interview, how are they going to find a babysitter while working here?"

I know you're saying that if you had a job you could pay for daycare, but that's like telling your boss you can't make it to the interview because you don't have a car but if they hire you could afford a car. It's a catch 22, all jobs are to some extent. Just getting a job isn't free, you have to have a way to get there, money to afford to show up for weeks until that first check arrives, proper clothing to wear, pay for a place to live while starting that job, pay for proper hygiene, etc.

Bringing your child to an interview puts you in the category of someone who doesn't have enough money to have a job.

the following is from the source link, and there's lots of other good advice on that page:

"Do not bring anyone with you, especially children. I don't know how many times I have interviewed someone that had a child with them - I even had one applicant start breast-feeding in the middle of the interview!!! I have also had applicants tell me that they were in a hurry because they left their child in the car - I refused to interview them until they found someone to watch their child. It is totally inappropriate to bring a child into a business - especially an office or manufacturing plant. Even if you are applying at a daycare facility, leave your child at home for the interview. It is equally inappropriate to have your spouse, family member or friend tag along. Even if that person works at the place that you are applying, you should go to your interview alone. The one exception to that rule - if the employer called both of you in, or if the employer is hiring for multiple positions and you are both applying. In that case, you need to make sure that the employer knows that you both have your own transportation to and from work."

Smiling Your Way to Success in a Phone Job Interview

    • depends ask them

    • Not the best idea.

    • Your application will be tossed in the trash as soon as you leave.

    • There is a dilemna , but could u possibly leave ur daughter with a close relative or friend for just an hour or so? I think that its much better to be one on one with your prospective employer, and bringing your daughter might bring on a negative connotation, despite your best interests and lack of someone to watch over her. In the last resort, you could discuss this with your interviewer, and I am not sure if they will be lenient enough to allow it. Again, they could view your daughter as an unfortunate distraction, that could make them choose someone else. Maybe your daughter could be left with the administrative assistant in a room while you are on the interview.

Good luck, may you have a career and not just a job. Wish u the best on ur interviews, God keep u.

Job Interview Questions: What would you wear for a job interview?

I'm 16 and I have my first job interview for a cashier at a restaurant,
what do i wear? how should i have my hair? My makeup?

English for Your Job Interview - How to Succeed

    Recommended Answer:
Don't wear jeans, that is one of the biggest rules for any interview (they are too casual). Dress pants or a skirt (A decent skirt, nothing to short) You don't have to be super fancy but show that you put a little thought and effort into it. I went to an interview recently and wore a black, button up, short sleeve blouse with a lacy blue tank top underneath and black knee length skirt. (and i got the job :) now just a tip here is that you don't want to wear too much black. i have blonde hair so i was fine wearing what i did but if you have black hair or dark brown i wouldn't do black for pants and shirt.

For the hair you just want it to look nice, nothing to crazy. if you are one of those people who like to make your hair twice the size of your head maybe tone it down a little :P I just straightened mine and left it down.

And last of all for makeup follow the same rules as the hair, nice but not overkill. it isn't the time to pull out the bright colors and thick eyeliner. neutral eye shadows (like browns) or light pastels are good for times like this and a little lip gloss can add the perfect touch.

Job Interview Questions: How TO Stay Calm During A Job Interview?

So I decided to get a second job. The problem is that I get extremely nervous and unfortunately, I start to blush at job interviews. This has been happening for a while now. The last interview went horrible! I felt myself blushing and couldn't think clearly. Of course, I didn't get the job. Its been a year and have been avoiding interviews. I am usually very confident but for some strange reason, I blush at situations where all the attention is on me. Think it has to do with a lot of insecurity issues. Any advise or tips. Thanks in advance! =)

Why Should I Hire You? Job Interview Question and Answers

    Recommended Answer:
Don't be afraid to pause before and during giving answers to questions to give yourself time to think and to breath, you don't have to rush an answer. This should help to keep you calm, it did for me :)

And try not to feel insecure, I know it can feel like they're judging you but they just want to see if you'd 'fit' into their workplace. They're not criticising you.

It doesn't matter if you blush, all candidates are nervous this is to be expected. It's not the way you look, it's down to what you say. Try and think confidently and portray confidence to them.
