Job Interview Questions: I had a job interview last week and was told I would have a proposal this week.?

I then sent a thank you note and received an answer that I could expect a job offer this week. I haven't heard anything yet, what should I do?

Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Call them Tuesday or Wednesday of next week if you haven't heard back.

They said "could"...they didn't say "would". That could mean they're too busy. A lot of places are like that.

Stay on them, but don't make yourself out to be desperate, either.

Job Interview Questions: Tips for my job interview on Wednesday?

I have an interview on Wednesday for an outdoors summer job, basically park maintenance for the town. I have, or at least I think I have, good experience from my last summer job, where I worked at an amusement park food restaurant (very busy very intensive work, did a lot of different tasks there) and a reference from that last job. But I can't shake the anxiety that I will do something to jeopardize myself in the interview.

Tips? Should I wear a dress shirt and tie for that sort of position? What are good questions to ask the interviewers?

Tips to Ace Your Insurance Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Always dress for success. Shirt and tie. Firm handshake, eye contact and smile. First impressions are important.

Since you have experience, be prepared to highlight your skills and abilities by giving numbers and examples: "I serviced ____ number of machines per day. With my mechanical expertise and training, I was able to troubleshoot maintenance issues quickly and effectively. I also helped train _____ other employees to do this job. I've operated the following machines__________________. I am a quick learner. I was trained on how to operate the ____________ ,learned it in _____ days, and operated it proficiently. Other areas I am skilled in include_________________. (Go on to provide examples and use numbers.

Ask the interviewer how many other people do this job, and what is a typical day like. DON"T ask about salary or time off. Ask when they expect to make a hiring decision.

Get the interviewer's business card or contact info and arrange a time that YOU will call them back. (If they say "We should have a decision by Friday," call on Thursday. Thank them and send a handwritten thank you note, reinforcing your interest in the position.

Good luck!

Job Interview Questions and Answers Are All That Stands Between You and Success

  • Firm handshake and look the person in the eye, good smile, don't overdue it.

  • This is a lot to cover but I'll give you a couple of tips and some resources to review;

First tip, there are about 10 questions that are used most often in an interview. Know the answers to these 10 questions and you will probably get at least 2-3. Knowing some of these answers will help calm you down.

Second tip, if you think you are starting to talk too much or babbling before you frame your answer there are 2 things you can do, repeat the question to give yourself some time to develop an answer. (actually you are restating so as to clarify) or alternatively, if you are asked if you would like some water, answer yes and take a sip just before you start talking to give yourself some time to formulate an answer.

As far as questions, I always like the question that asks about the first thing the interviewer would like accomplished when the person starts or what are the 2 things that the last person who did this job excelled at doing? You want them to relate you to what needs to be done or what was done well before.

There are tons more tips in the free career portal below but that should get you started. Good Luck.

Job Interview Questions: How to I write a letter of continued interest after a job interview?

I applied to a job about two weeks ago. They said several times that they would contact me either way within two weeks but no response yet. I would really like to send them some sort of thank you for the interview & please let me know if I got the stinking job or not because it's been two weeks letter but how would I format something like this in a positive, make me look good sort of a way? I did send them a nice thank you letter afterward so I can't just format it like that. Any ideas?

Recommended Answer:
I wouldn't mail a letter at this point. I would pick up the phone and call.

Hello Ms. Smith this is Kevin Jones. I am calling today to inquire on the Customer service position I interviewed for on March 1st. Do you have a moment to answer some questions about the position?
Has the position been filled yet?
wonderful, I was hoping I hadn't missed the opportunity to work for XYZ company.
Do you know when the final decision will be made on the position?
Can I expect to hear whether or not I am selected for the position?
Thank you again Ms. Smith. I look forward to speaking to you again very soon.

Job Interview Questions: If a job interview is short, does that mean I didn't get the job?

I had a job interview for my first job with Macy's a few weeks ago. It was only about 20 minutes. Does that mean I didn't get it? (Also they said they're not hiring until October, so I don't even know why they called me in.)

Know How Important the Job Interview Questions Are

    Recommended Answer:
it would be rare for a retail job that the interview be more than 30 minutes so no.

Also October is not that far away.

    call them in a week.

edit when i had my interview at JCPEnney in 2003 it was 5 minutes, and i was hired

How to Succeed in a Job Interview

    • Twenty Minutes is average for a retail interview, I would not worry about it. They are pre qualifying because their hiring season is a month away. I would hand write a thank you note and follow up periodically.

      Good Luck to you

    • not necessarily. Remember Oct is right around the corner..don't get discouraged. Just keep looking and if they call, they call..if not.. move on! Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to a job interview at a grocery store?

I was think of wearing this light blue long sleeve tunic top with a collar, dark jeans( because I do not own those tan pants or black dress pants, and these brown flats with light pink nail polish. I will wear light make up. Probably only mascara and cover-up and powder.
Is this ohkay? or should I wear something else?
Also, how early should I be?
It's my first job interview so that's why I am soo nervous. Aha. I really want a job. (:

How to Answer Common Job Interview Questions

    Recommended Answer:
I'd recommend dark slacks over jeans but what you propose should be OK. You seem to be on the right track. About 10 minutes early should be fine.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I have a job interview on Tuesday at a clothing store. This will be my very first job interview ever so I really don't know what to wear. I was thinking maybe i should wear dark jeggings with flats and a colored tank top or ruffled top with a cute blazer over that. I was also thinking of having my hair lose with very little make-up.

Any suggestions or pictures or links would be greatly appreciated!
