Job Interview Questions: What should I bring to a job interview?

I have a interview Monday with a bank. I am apply for a personal banker position. I am bring my resume, cover letter and a copy of my transcript from college (I have 70 credit hours, with 54 more hours left for a Bachelor in Business Management) The position only say you need a high school diploma so should I bring the college transcript or is that over doing it. Also, What else should I bring, and what are some good tips. Also how early should I arrive. PLEASE HELP

Job Interviewing Preparation: The Winning Approach!

Recommended Answer:
First, congratulations on landing the interview! In today's market, that's not always an easy thing to do. You have all the materials you need, however, consider them more like a portfolio. Anything you've done that is relevant to the position you are interviewing for should be included. The most important thing to do is prepare yourself. Find a friend or family member and mock interview so that you can practice your answers. There are a lot of places online you will find potential interview questions. Next, make sure you have 2-3 questions of your own and plan on asking them during the interview. Do your homework and read about the company. Find things to ask about that let them know you have done research and are taking the position seriously. The site below will also give you more information on interview tips.

Job Interviews - How to Quickly and Easily Succeed at Them

  • If they need the transcript, they would ask for it. I think it is overkill and a waste of paper. They'd also insist on it being in a sealed envelope from the registrar and they would probably request it themselves. Usually they would only care if you have a degree. I'd arrive ten minutes before the interview and I would bring a pen and the other two items you mentioned.

I'd also make sure to dress professionally and not go in even in business casual if you can help it. Business casual is the bare minimum if you don't own a suit. At least wear a tie. Make sure to wear good shoes and your hair looks nice. Don't forget deodorant. Take out any piercings you have on before you get there.

  • You probably don't need the college transcript--I've never been asked to provide one for an entry-level job--but you can bring all of your documents in a professional-looking leather portfolio, and if your interviewer expresses any interest in seeing proof of your credit hours, you can pull it and show him. If he doesn't say anything, just leave it in there.

If you haven't filled out an official job application with the company, bring the addresses and phone numbers of all your previous jobs (for filling out the job history section--I surely don't remember all the details of my previous jobs that well), and bring a few copies of your references sheet with the names and contact info for at least three references.

You can walk in about 10 minutes early and let someone know that you are there to see so-and-so, but that you know you're early, so there's no rush. You'll probably be directed somewhere to wait for your interviewer.

Look up a list of commonly asked interview questions (Google it) and already have answers prepared for those questions.

  • Myself I believe that letters are great, providing they are composed utilizing great punctuation and spelling (always use a spall chocker!). You can get some great guidance for composing letters by visiting the resource in the box below, it's got a lot of other stuff about job hunting in addition.

  • Good luck with your interview. Even if your nervous try and appear to be confident. Not TOO over confident though. Just that you believe in yourself and know what your doing.
Make sure you show charisma and when they ask the question
'why should we employ you' say because you have ambition. Let them know that you believe in yourself and their company!
    How could they say no!
    Best of luck

  • I'll tell you what NOT to bring: your cell phone. (Or leave it in the car. Turn it off, at the very least.)

Sure way to blow an interview is to have your cell phone ring during the interview. Even worse if you answer it.

  • A fresh copy of your resume. Dress business casual, bring a pen, and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early

Job Interview Questions: Tips for first job interview?

I have a job interview, I'm so nervous. I'm 16 if that matters. I've been applying for jobs for months, & finally I've got an interview. Does anyone have any tips? Questions they may ask. Also I have something called OJE interview, does anyone no what this is.

Job Interview Success

Recommended Answer:
Here are a few suggestions that might help.

Sit down with your parents and do a practice interview. Your parents have a good idea of what will be asked.

Dress to impress. Even if it is a low quality job, dress like you want the job. I will always hire someone dressed better then the other.

Be honest. It is better to be honest and open with your interviewer.

Identify qualities that would make you good at this job. Sell those qualities to your interviewer. You more than likely will be asked "scenario question". Use these opportunities to sell your strengths.

Dont be nervous.

Well I hope you do well. Best of luck.

Job Interview Advice Everyone Can Use

  • To add a few more comments, try to go on the company's website and do a little research about the company and the products/services they sell. This will be especially impressive considering that you're only 16. Be positive, don't discuss your personal life (unless asked), tell them that your salary is "negotiable," and don't tell them you want the job because you "need the money"- act like you want the job because the position and the company interest you. Also express a desire to learn and to gain experience.

    Good luck!!

Job Interview Questions: Would you wear scrubs to a medical assisting job interview?

I am a medical assistant and I am not currently employed I have a job interview tomorrow and would like to know others opinions on wearing scrubs to the job interview. My thought frame is mentally, I would like them to see me in a clinical capacity in the office.

Job Interview Preparation: The Key To Getting The Job Offer!

    Recommended Answer:
I am a Clinical Medical Assistant, and to my initial interview (I had two for the same clinic) I wore scrubs because I had come straight out of a highschool course class. I was told to wear scrubs. (Matching..Clean, white, appropiate shoes.. and my name tag). This interview was for my internship.

My second interview I wore nice slacks, a button up blouse, and some formal flats. I was hired on the spot. This interview was obviously for the job.

I would treat it like any other job interview. Dress formally.

    Hope I helped.

Job Interview Preparation Tips From an Experienced Manager of Sales Job Interviews

    • No, scrubs are never appropriate for an interview unless its for a internship or you have just come from a shift. The rule of thumb in an interview is to always dress nicer than the interviewing person. For all interviews, a professional attire of flats, closed toes, dress pants or skirt, neat shirt, hair back etc is always appropriate. No dangling jewelry, large earrings, loud nail polish or long nails, etc etc.

    • Never. They'll either think you're frivolous or that you have absolutely no sense of what's appropriate in the business world.

For an interview, wear a shirt with a collar, pants with a crease, real shoes, and socks or hose. Period.
