Job Interview Mistakes To Avoid

Recommended Answer:
First of all relax the more you think about every little thing the more nervous you will be.First they"ll probably ask you what made u want to work here and why should they pick you.and you should stick to the basics when it comes to the clothing put on some basic black pants,a nice blouse and since its claires you should wear some nice earrings but don't wear some that will distract them from the interview part.aw and since your already wearing earrings show them off by pulling your hair into a pony tail.hope this helped.and remember just relax.

Prepare for a Great Job Interview With These Questions and Answers

  • Uggh.... I find Claire's company hard to work with.

Anyways, they're likely to ask you questions about what your definition of "Costumer service" is, I would suggest answering with something like "Doing all I can to help a costumer without hurting the company".

And they tend to like it best when you dress sophisticated yet cute... I would suggest maybe a pretty, nutural colors or gray-scale colors, maybe with polka dots or maybe teeeny tiny cute patterns and details. A little frill would be OK with them but I suggest not overdoing it.

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview today and am pretty sure they will offer me the job?

However, I had a another interview a few days ago and that job is the better of the two.Is it appropriate to contact the place I had the first interview with and let them know that I have an offer but would prefer a job with them?

Four Job Interview Mistakes That Can Torpedo Your Chances of Success

Recommended Answer:
you should do both Interviews and tell them you took another job if applicable. They'll understand.

Job Interview Issues - How To Dress To Match The Interview

  • The place you're interviewing at today probably has a few other candidates, so it's unlikely that they'll offer you the job during the interview. If they offer you a job, you don't have to accept or decline right away. You can tell them you need a couple days to think about it. At the first interview, did you ask them when they'll be making their decision? If not, you can call them about a week after the interview to ask if they've made a decision. If both places want to hire you, don't try to negotiate a higher salary with the first place by using your second offer as a bargaining chip. They might call your bluff.

  • I wouldn't tell them about any previous interviews, the company you are NOW going to an interview for may figure that you aren't really interested in THEIR company. I know it sounds silly, but a lot of employers don't understand that people need to interview with 2 or more companies, because not all will offer jobs.

I'd just go to the interview, prepared, with resume in hand and knowledge about the company. You want to know the company's motto, culture and some important information about them.

If they offer you a job right after the interview, thank them and tell them you are really considering working for this company however, you have another job offer from a different company (I wouldn't say you're waiting for a job offer from the other company), and that you need a few days to think it over and would that be ok? If they say no... then it's your choice at that point. Take the job you know that will hire you but isn't as good, or wait and see if the company you already interviewed with calls you back. If they say it's ok to think about it, make a decision within 3 days and call the company.

Either way, you should call the HR department or hiring manager and see if you are still a candidate for the position.

There is an excellent ezine article that tells you actually what to say when calling the HR dept or hiring manager when you don't get a call back. I've included that link with my answer.

Good luck! I know how hard good jobs are to come by. I wish you the very best and hope you get the "better" job!

  • I agree, go to both interviews and see what they have to say and what offer (if they make an offer) then you can decide which opportunity is better.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview tomorrow. What should I respond to about weaknesses?

I'm applying a job at a hospital for an EP [Electrophysiology] Technologist. I had interned with them previously so I'm not super on edge about it since I know them but I always have difficulties answering what my weaknesses are. I have them I know, but I don't really know what they are? Any advice on some good answers?

How to Blow a Job Interview in Less Than Five Minutes

Recommended Answer:
3. "What's Your Biggest Weakness?"

What are you supposed to do -- tell them why they SHOULDN'T hire you?

The "weakness" question is popular with interviewers not because they want to torture you, but because they're interested in hearing how you tackle challenges.

The most important thing to remember is that after you name your weakness, you MUST discuss what you have done to overcome it.

Pick a weakness that is real but understandable or relatively harmless. Whatever weakness you pick, be sure that it is work-related ("I have a tendency to overfeed my dog" is NOT an appropriate weakness) and that you present the strategies for how you overcame it.

Here are a few examples:"I used to have a tendency to procrastinate. So now I am always sure to set a strict schedule for all of my projects well in advance and I set personal deadlines. This organization has really helped.""Once in a while, I focus too much on the details of a project. So now, when I'm working on a project, I always make sure at the end of the day to sit back and take a few minutes to think about the general scope of my work. It forces me to keep priorities straight and helps me keep the right mindset.""I used to have some problems with organization. So now I carry a schedule book around throughout the day and I also use this Palm Pilot to keep me on track. It's worked out great!"

You don't want to pick a weakness that will torpedo your chances -- even your weakness should speak strongly toward your skills. The examples above all address honest weaknesses; here are a few other "safe" weaknesses that are easy to discuss:I tend to be a perfectionist.
I sometimes work too hard, leading to unnecessary stress.

    SMILE and RELAX

How To Make Job Interviews Easy

    • First, clothes. An employer decides whether to employ you from when you enter the room, first impressions DO count. You shouldn't dress over the top, but you should wear something smart, like a blouse and smart black trousers.
Make up should be minimal, you need to give your potential employer your personality, not make up that is covering up your personality.
You need to have all the questions ready for what they're going to ask:
      1. Why should I employ you?
I am polite, friendly, enthusiastic about whatever I am doing etc.
      2. Why have you had no previous job experience?
I have been studying/I have been looking for a while but nobody had a vacancy.

You should also ask your parents or friends about interview questions as they are bound to know what an employer is going to ask.

The other important thing is to big yourself up with I'm great at this, I can do this..but do NOT make yourself appear arrogant as that is sure to put an employer off of you straight away. They want someone they can work with, not someone that will look down at them as if they can do better at their job than they can.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to a job interview for Tony Bianco (shoe shop)?

So ive scored a job interview at Tony Bianco, its only a casual position. But im unsure on what to wear for the interview. Im thinking a black blazer with a white top, blue jeans and short heels? Or would jeans be a bad idea?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
Btw its around autumn at the moment.

How to Prepare for a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Definitely do not wear jeans for any job interview even if every member of staff wears them. A casual position could lead to something much bigger and better later. A simple black skirt with your blazer and top would be very smart - and not too short either.

Do you think you'll be an asset to the company? In what way? That's what they want to know. It's not a trick question - they just want to know what you honestly think you can do for them. If you don't think you can help the company in any way you probably shouldn't apply for the job because if you do get it you won't last

Job Interview Questions: Is it okay to get drunk before a job interview?

Sometimes alcohol helps me to relax my nerves and feel a bit more at ease. People say I'm more likable after I've been drinking. Before my last job interview I had about 4 shots of Vodka and 5 Buds, but I think the employer could smell it on my breath, and I did trip and fall on my way into his office. I was thinking about drinking a little less for my next job interview, but I'm not sure yet. What do you think?

It's not considered the right thing these days. You would be more 'with it' if you were tripping on good quality LSD. Take the trip about three hours before the interview and make sure you have a large knife when you go in. Peeing in your pants is a good indication that you're relaxed, the interview panel will like that. Ask personal questions and make a few sordid jokes. Good luck.
