Job Interview Questions: In a job interview should I say I'm available immediately or in 2 weeks if I already have a job?

It's nice to give 2 weeks notice before you quit your current job but should it also be like that if you're applying for another job that needs more employees immediately or will it also look bad to them if you're already working and you say I can start immediately instead of after 2 weeks when they ask you when can you start in an interview?

Some of the Toughest Job Interview Questions and Their Model Answers

Recommended Answer:
I say tell them 2 weeks. Just to show them that you are being respectful to your other job by giving them the notice, and I think that also says that you are ready to work immediately.

Win That Second Job Interview, Like You Did With the First Job Interview

  • Definately say you are available in 2 weeks. Your new potential employer will see this as a sign that you are considerate and responsible. I would further ad by saying "I am available in 2 weeks because I want to give time to my old employer to find a repalcement and train them". Not only will this establish a good repore with your new employer but you also will not be burning any bridges with your old employer. You never know if things do not work out or you need your old employer for a future reference.

  • in such a case diplomatic answers are preferable.

Job Interview Questions: First job interview tomorrow? Help.?

So today I got an unexpected phone call for a job that I applied for a few weeks ago.

I was so nervous on the phone but I got an interview for tomorrow.

I've never had a job interview so I'm really, reaaally nervous! I muck up my words a lot.

The job is for a 'doggy day care' at a vetenary clinic.

What sort of things show I ask? What shouldn't I ask? I need a few pointers. Is it appropriate to take in a piece of paper with questions or is that seen as unprofessional? Also, how can I stop myself from being so nervous? Any advice would be helpful.

Will What You Wear for a Job Interview Help You Pass the 2 Minute Test?

    Recommended Answer:
Take a note pad with your questions but also to use for notes possibly if you get interrupted during the interview. You want to ask about the job your duties, hours, training, etc. At this first interview you don't want to ask about vacation, lunch, etc. Practice answering question in your mind such as why you want this job, what experience you have, your likes/dislikes of animals, how you would handle interactions with customers, your feeling of cleaning up animal messes. I hope this helps. Good luck be calm and you'll do fine

The Top Ten Mistakes Made in Job Interviews and How to Avoid Them

    • First off there are some basics that are important for any job interview: dress professionally, make eye contact, be polite, pay attention and be yourself. It is okay to take in some questions and also a pad of paper for notes. Being nervous is expected. And it can be to your advantage, if you are visibly nervous that is okay, as long as you deal with it appropriately. Just be yourself and show them that you are the right person for the job.
      Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: Job interview outfit?

Ok so I have a job interview today and I was told to dress semi-professional. What does that mean?! I need to know:

-What kinda shirt should I wear and should I tuck it in?
-What kinda pants should I wear? U think really dark black jeans will be fine cuz I don't have slacks. I usually wear those jeans to formal affairs and u can't even tell they're jeans unless u really look at them.
-Oh what kinda shoes should I wear? U think a pair of black K-Swiss will be fine or should I wear black leather shoes?

    Job Interview Anxiety

    Recommended Answer:
You didn't specify if you were a guy or girl. Guy - DO NOT WEAR JEANS TO A JOB INTERVIEW! Do not wear k-swiss either! You need some dress shoes. Wear a nice white button down shirt, tie and some dress pants. Girl - wear a nice top, slacks or tailored skirt and heels.

Job Interview Tips You Can Use to Ace the Interview and Land the Job

    • Choose a light colored crisp shirt, black, gray or navy blue trousers and coat in plain colors or in pin stripes.
Wear a conservative tie in solid color. Use a black or dark brown leather belt to tie up your look.
Wear comfortable dress shoes that are clean and polished and thin, dark colored socks.
Use a gold or silver colored dress watch. Avoid bulky, sporty watches.
The minimalist approach is the safest choice here. Neat, coordinated and crisp is the order of the day. The end goal is to appear confident, well-groomed and comfortable.
You have to set out to win the prospective employer over and not overwhelm them.

    • Well first of all it means you wear dress pants and a dress shirt with dress shoes. If it is just a regular retail job do not wear a suit but if you wear those that should be just fine.

    • Semi-professional probably just means no jacket and tie. But I would still wear a tie to be sure. Wear a nice plain and single colored dress shirt with a conservative tie. Wear black pants and black leather shoes.

DONT SEEM NERVOUS! They can tell and it makes it uncomfortable, plus they want to see the persn they hire and if you are dont like like you normally do in the interview, when you start working they will see someone else and thats not hwo they hired. So just be relaxed and natural :)

Job Interviewing Preparation: The Winning Approach!

    • A good interviewer will begin by trying to make you as comfortable as possible. They will probably do this by asking you to tell them about yourself. This is a good ice breaker question and should put the interviewee at ease. Then, if they know what they are doing, they will ask only open ended questions, like "Tell me about a time when you demonstated your ability to problem solve" as opposed to asking "Do you have problem solving skills?" The idea is to get the candidate to TALK. So, think about 5 really great jobs or projects that you've worked on, and have them at the forefront of your mind so whatever open ended question you get asked, you can quickly retrieve one of those situations and elaborate.
