So today I got an unexpected phone call for a job that I applied for a few weeks ago.
I was so nervous on the phone but I got an interview for tomorrow.
I've never had a job interview so I'm really, reaaally nervous! I muck up my words a lot.
The job is for a 'doggy day care' at a vetenary clinic.
What sort of things show I ask? What shouldn't I ask? I need a few pointers. Is it appropriate to take in a piece of paper with questions or is that seen as unprofessional? Also, how can I stop myself from being so nervous? Any advice would be helpful.
Will What You Wear for a Job Interview Help You Pass the 2 Minute Test?
Recommended Answer:Take a note pad with your questions but also to use for notes possibly if you get interrupted during the interview. You want to ask about the job your duties, hours, training, etc. At this first interview you don't want to ask about vacation, lunch, etc. Practice answering question in your mind such as why you want this job, what experience you have, your likes/dislikes of animals, how you would handle interactions with customers, your feeling of cleaning up animal messes. I hope this helps. Good luck be calm and you'll do fine
The Top Ten Mistakes Made in Job Interviews and How to Avoid Them
- First off there are some basics that are important for any job interview: dress professionally, make eye contact, be polite, pay attention and be yourself. It is okay to take in some questions and also a pad of paper for notes. Being nervous is expected. And it can be to your advantage, if you are visibly nervous that is okay, as long as you deal with it appropriately. Just be yourself and show them that you are the right person for the job.
Good luck!
