Job Interview Questions: Typical job interview questions?

What are some questions that an interviewer asked you in a job interview. They can be random questions like if you were any type of plant, what type would you want to be? They can also be any typical question like an ice breaker question. It would help to know your answers too but it's not as important as the question itself.
Thanks

Questions For Job Interview Situations - Overcoming the Fear

Recommended Answer:
Here are some typical ones that were asked me:

What are your strengths and weaknesses? [Answers are subjective and various.]
How would you contribute to the betterment of the company? [Answers vary and depend on what kind of company you apply to.]
How would you define/describe a "bad boss"? [Don't focus on the bad. Mention some things but try to redirect it positively.]

Some companies will ask completely different and sometimes obscure/crazy questions! For instance, Zappos may ask you to describe your own personal "weirdness." (Went over that in our business class.)

Job Interviewing Tips

  • what special skills can you bring to the position

  • They usually ask "Why would you like to work here" or
Why do you think you would be a good fit for us? That's when you learn about their company so you can say something meaningful that will impress them, the fact that you took the time to do some research on their company.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview at ross any helpful tips?

i got a job interview at ross today at 2 i really need this job i have been searching for months has anyone ever worked there and can they give me any helpful tips pr info

How to Handle Skilled Job Interviewers & Behavioral Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
This will win you the job. Listen Closely.

Iron your clothes the night before the interview. Make sure you dress business like. Dressing one step up is always a good sign. No Capri's, Jeans, T-shirts, Tank Tops, etc.

Dress shirts, Button up Shirt, Sweaters Khaki's, Black dress Pants, Dress * must go down to knee length where leggings*, Skirts * same rules as wearing a dress* <-- These are appropriate to wear.

Bring 3-5 Extra copies of your Resume, and your portfolio. With a BLACK ink pen without the cap

If you wear cologne or perfume only use one squirt.

Do NOT chew gum, put mints in your mouth before going in.

Greet The person at the desk nicely, it could be the boss or someone superior.

When going into the interview be nice and sincere, Shake their hands firmly and give a smile. Do not sit down unless you are told to.

Never slough in the chair, cross your legs *if must cross legs cross them at the ankles*

Be Confident, but not overly confident. Never ask about pay, bonuses, or anything dealing with money, vacations, or anything like that.

When they ask you if you have any questions, make sure you ask them questions like, What made you interested in this job? What do you look for in an employee? etc.

*Always stay positive!!!!*

and lastly, Right After the interview Type up, or buy a Thank You card.
Tell them you are thankful for having them take the time to interview and point some things out in the card or letter. Always sign your name

Black ink pens are Necessary!! I will not stress the fact. Blue ink and any other colors are Not Business pens, they are childish. Black ink is very professional.

I wish you the best of luck:)

Job Interview Questions: If you are in a job interview and they ask you the following question..........?

if you are in a job interview and they ask you the following question.....''what are your key strenghs and weakness?'' what would you answer? Please only serious answers

The Key Job Interview Areas Which Will Decide Your Success

Recommended Answer:
Well obviously I cannot answer for you for I don't know you. But for me, I answer:
My key strengths punctuality are team spirit, hard-worker and I am multilingual.
And my weakness is I don't like cleaning toilets as it depresses me.

Make sure to stress that you are looking forward to working for such a great (name of the company). That should impress the recruiter or manager or boss.

3 Steps to a Great Job Interview

  • I would say "I'm honest, I have a strong work ethic, I work well with diverse groups, and I enjoy this kind of work".

For the weaknesses, I always say "I like to figure things out on my own, and sometimes delay asking for help from others". (somewhat of a non-weakness in engineering, where I work).

Don't use the over-used "I tend to drive myself too hard sometimes". Everybody's heard that one.

  • depends on what type of job you are applying for. I would say then think of all theskills and experiences you have in that certain area, and mention asmuch as you can so it seems you have the right skills for that position you want.

  • You should offer them an oral examination as your key strength. That'll get you the position for sure.

Job Interview Questions: I had a great job interview but I don't understand why didn't they phone, do you think I got the job?

I had a job interview at Auntie Anne`s Pretzels today at 9 am and the interview went very well and I got along with the manager. At the end of the interview he asked me if this was my number and if it was correct. I said yes and he said he had more interviews until noon and will make a decision then and call me. It is nearly 6 pm and he hasn't phoned. Do you think I didn't get the job?

Job Interview Questions: Questions asked in a Fast Food Job Interview?

So I have my first job interview tomorrow and it's at a KFC/Taco Bell fast food restaurant. I would like to know:

-what kinds of questions are they bound to ask me? (specific and general ones)
    -what should I wear
    -Things I should/shouldn't do?

I appreciate any answer, thank you!

    Job Interview Mistakes To Avoid

    Recommended Answer:
I actually work at a KFC/TB myself. I showed up to the interview in my coat but took it off during the questioning and had a casual long sleeve shirt underneath. Dressing casual should be fine, just don't wear anything ripped or stained.

The interview lasted about 15 minutes. They will most likely start by saying "tell me about yourself". I also remember they asked why I wanted to work there and what kind of position I was interested in working.

Just be polite and straightforward and you should do fine

Job Interview Technique - 6 Tips To Get Yours Up To Scratch

    • I'm a manager at a restaurant and have conducted many interviews. It's hard to say what questions will be asked because each interviewer is different. They will ask, like someone else mentioned, tell me about your self. When answering that, mostly they are looking for what you're currently doing like going to school or what your past jobs were. Maybe some related hobbies or things you do that are related to the job. Mostly interview questions are set up to find out a specific trait such as reliability, team work, honestly, integrity, and so on..

As far as what to wear, it's always to a good idea to dress nicely to an interview. If someone is dressed too casual in shorts and a t shirt, this can show you might not be very serious about wanting the job. In a job interview, first impressions are everything.

Job Interview Questions: Did a job interview Monday but they pulled the position today haven't heard back?

My husband did a job interview on Monday but they pulled the position down off the website today
    but still haven't heard anything

he did 2 phone interviews and a face to face one this past monday
does that mean he didn't get the job since they didn't call back ?

    Lethal Job Interview Mistakes

    Recommended Answer:
Note there was 1 job that I was hired for that took another week or two after the final interview to be called back. I thought the worse of course since I didnt hear back immediately but they called me back a couple weeks afterwards. They just have to get everything ready on their end to be ready for him to go work there. Dont give up hope! I hope he is hired.Well if they pulled it off the site that doesn't mean they didnt hire him, it just means they have had the interviews and no longer want applications for the position. They probably have narrowed it down and are making a final interview for the few they want to hire. Have your husband follow up and give them a call saying he's still interested in the position and wants to know if they are still considering him for the position or if the position is closed. Most (nice) places will send out a letter to applicants stating they appreciate your time but they have chosen someone else. Just give a call, tell them what I said and wish for the best! I got called back for a few jobs from just giving a call back. Good luck

Help, I Have to Prepare For My Job Interview!

    • In today's economy, with so many people looking for work, the norm now is that if you don't hear anything, you probably didn't get the job. The days when a prospective employer had the common courtesy to notify you one way or the other are long gone, I'm afraid.

    • Well, that doesn't sound good, they would only pull it down for two reasons: either they are simply done interviewing, or they have filled the position. The removal itself doesn't absolutely mean they found someone though, but, my guess would be like yours, that they may have. It won't hurt to do a follow-up contact but don't make any assumptions, they may just not want any more applicants and removed that to stop them.

    • Not sure if he missed out on the job, but here are some key things to do after an interview!

#1 thing after an interview is to send via email a thank you to the person or persons who interviewed you! With the ending statement "I look forward to working with you"

#2 Mail a Thank You card

#3 Never wait to get a call, follow up every day! It may seem annoying but persistance is what has to happen in this economy, and not allowing them time to forget you :-)

These are things I preped my candidates before an interview, when I was a recruiter!

Job Interview Questions: Am I allowed to bring awards to a job interview?

Job Interview Attire - How to Choose the Right Career Clothes For Your Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
I have a Portfolio I that carry with me that has copies of cool stuff, like some of my previous work, awards like you have, letters of recommendations, news clipping about me, and stuff like that. I carry it in a little white 3 ring binder. I also have extra copies of my resume and letters of recommendation in the front pocket in case there are extra people who come into the interview, or additional interviews at the same time. You don't have to even open the Portfolio, but if the topic comes up in the interview, it is not inappropriate to open it up and show the reference. Nobody knows or cares if you are carry a 3 ring white binder to a interview.

The Proper Instruments For Passing the Job Interview

    • If the awards are not relevant, you don't have to use them. in any case, you probably mentioned them in your resume, and if not, you may mention them during the interview, without showing off diplomas.
      good luck with your interview!:)

    • Don't.

Mention the awards on your resume, if you want to, but don't bring them with you. I'm trying to say this the politest way possible: If you did such a thing, you'd be laughed at.

Job Interview Questions: What should I expect from this job interview tomorrow morning?

I am a 16 yr old struggling with anxiety and depression, and this is my first ever job interview, so I am extremely nervous about it. I have NO idea what to expect. It is to be doing kitchen work (mainly cleaning and stuff) in a local restaurant. What kinds of things will I be asked? Should I talk about my anxiety (or even mention it)? Are they going to ask me questions about my bank account or how they're going to pay me or something? Because in terms of money, I don't even know how my bank is set up! lol. Help?

Career Change Job Search: Job Interview Tips!

    Recommended Answer:
They'll most likely ask you what sort of experience you have that relates to the job you've applied for. So even though this is your first job, tell them about any volunteer things you done, etc. If you really don't have experience, put a positive spin on it and tell them that you learn fast, and really push the fact that you're a good student (assuming your a good student). A lot of times places like restaurants know that this is your first job and so they just want to know that you're going to be reliable and hard working. Tell them that you're really excited about this position and feel that you would do well. Confidence will show them that you really have interest in the job, and that you'll be able to handle yourself if hired.

Do not talk to them about your anxiety. You don't need to share that information with them unless it becomes a problem on the job. Your first interview should be highlighting all your positive points. You want to give them reasons to hire you, not reasons to throw your application in the garbage.
Also, don't ask about pay or benefits on the first interview. Wait until you have the job to bring things like that up.

How To Get Ready For A Job Interview

    • They will be trying to find out if you are a good match for the job, and information to compare you to other applicants to see who is the best match... most dependable, most efficient, most cooperative, most likely to stay around once hired, etc. So, what you're looking to do is convince them that you fit what they're looking for.

I would not talk about your anxiety. That makes you appear like a potential problem, not a solution.

Also, questions about details about pay belong after you get hired, if you do. That's human resources stuff; you don't start in on HR stuff until you're hired.
