Job Interview Questions: Job interview at a boots chemist. Please Help need some tips!!!?

I applied online to a customer assistant/ consultant role at a boots chemist near my area. I got a call from a private number 2 weeks later while I was out. They said they would like to invite me to interview the next week. I took the address down because I didn't receive a confirmation email or anything which is strange??? Anyway I really want this job can someone give me some advice because this is my first job interview. What do I wear and what shall I prepare for?

They didn't leave a callback number, either?

If you got a callback number, definitely call them back to confirm the interview. If there's no callback number, just show up for the interview. If they say, You aren't on our list, say you received that phone call but had no callback number, and you would like to interview for the job anyway. (Don't wait for them to invite you to do so--very pleasantly but firmly say you are keen on the job and you would like to interview for it.)

Dress nicely. I don't know what that means where you are, but think about going out with your great-grandmother on your arm. Look nice, neat, pulled together. Look "professional," if you can, but if this job doesn't call for shiny shoes and bow ties, dress one notch below that.

A customer assistant/consultant role at a chemist...hm, I'm not exactly sure what that the specifics of that job are, but I assume it has a LOT to do with customer communications. So...anticipate questions about what makes you think you can work with customers. They want to hear you answer clearly, in strong sentences. They want to see that you are attentive. They will probably ask what skills you have that make you able to work with customers. Good answers: I am attentive, I listen well, I am interested in helping people solve problems, I am organized. They will probably want to hear what will make you a good employee. Good answers: I am prompt, I am reliable.

They may ask you to give examples of how you are ------ fill in the blank with prompt/reliable/organized/a problem solver, etc. So start thinking. What have you done in school, or with other organizations (at a church, a sports club, etc.) that shows you are any of these things?

Smile. Shake hands. Provide your contact information (perhaps have it neatly written/printed out on a slip of paper -- hand it over at the beginning or end of the interview) with a, "I'm sure you have this already, but I'm keen for the job" sort of a line.

Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: What do you say when you go to a job interview and are asked "why do you want to work here?"?

i can only think of one part, for example, if its like toys R us, you would say something like "well, i like toys and..." but the second part is what i'm having trouble with.

i have a job interview with family video so if asked, i would say, "well i like movies and" but thats all i got, what should the second part be?

say you gots to get paid say
i like toys and i gots to get paid
so i come for the money but stay for the toys
that way they know you'll be sticking around a long time because the toys aren't going away
    same with the movies

i like movies and i gots to get paid
i come for the money but i stay for the movies

this has worked for me but i usually wait until i have the job before I tell them this

I don't know how well it will work if you tell them this before you get the job

hope that helps you and good luck in your interview

    • Liking movies isn't an asset for employees at Family Video, although you can add that for the sake of humor after answering the question seriously. Why do you really want to work there? Is there some goal you want to achieve? Are you saving up to buy a car?

Perhaps you can just say that you believe working at Family Video will provide you with the kind of experience that will be beneficial to your current, as well as future goals and aspirations.... plus, I like movies.

Job Interview Questions: Medical device rep job interview and shadow?

i have a job interview and shadow at a hospital next week. my interviewer told me not to dress up on his behalf. he is wearing scrubs, as we will be going into surgery. should i wear scrubs then? or should i stick with business casual? will it seem like i need to be micro-managed if i ask? thank you!

    Recommended Answer:
I would still dress business casual. When you go into surgery you're going to have to wear sterile gowns anyway. Here's the problem: if your interview goes well, you might be introduced to the HR Director or other executives. You won't get a 2nd chance at a first impression with these folks. As a general rule, you're always better off being overdressed than the other way around.

    Hope this helps.

As I was reading, it says that I should prepare myself for a Behavioral Interview questions like "Explain a time and place where you an a disagreement with another employee and how did you handle it." etc. I had a job interview like that before, but I didn't do a good job with it and I was nervous. How can I prepare myself for that type of interview.

Take your resume with you if you have one.
Ask what are the busiest days and hours of the week.
What is the turnover rate for employees working there.
What type of training to they provide?
What happens to overages or how do they handle it if the register comes up short?
How the person interviewing you would handle a difficult situation such as a customer returning something that was clearly worn but denying it. I am sure they will ask you how you would handle a situation. What is the return policy.
How to handle a situation if you discover a credit card is stolen.
When is the schedule created and how many hours you can expect to work.
Are you expected to be on call in the event a coworker calls out and if it would qualify you for overtime if you have met your quota.
      Do they pay overtime?
      How are weekends scheduled?
Look at the interviewer in the eyes when talking and don't forget to smile.
Dress nicely and do not smell like smoke, onions, or have perfume on. Some are allergic. Leave all piercings out except for the ears.

        Recommended Answer:
If they cancelled the interview and didn't bother to call you, you'd be pissed, and rightly so. It takes five mintues to make the call - do so. You never know if you may want to apply for a job at that company in the future, or where that interviewer may show up.

Important Job Interview Tips to Land That Job!

        • You should cancel the job interview. It wouldn't be wise to not show up as you are wasting there time.

        • Be professional ... you never know when you might actually need that job later.

Job Interviews -- The Four Worst Objections You'll Face and How to Deal with Them

        • They'll want to know about your job history. And they'll probably say something like, 'So tell me about yourself.' So prepare an answer for that question before you go in. The first time an interviewer ever asked me that I just stared blankly and didn't know what to say, lol. And that will probably be about it.

They'll probably want to know if you have reliable transportation to work, and how far away from the place you live, and things like that, too. Most of the questions they're going to ask you are going to be really easy to answer.

        • since you don't have experience, you should probably expect a Behavioral Interview (if you don't know what that is or how to prepare for it, look here:https://sites.google.com/site/theresuman… ). Prepare answers to questions about yourself, about the delivery industry and the catering industry, and about this position's responsibility and how you encounter in your life similar situations with the ones the job might offer you (conflicts with co-workers, running out of time, unpleasant customers etc). Examples of questions: "How would you deal with a customer who is complaining about getting the wrong order?" or other hypothetical situations that need solutions.
If you look at the link I posted before, you'll find on the left side of the page a lot of good advice on interview prep. Look over that, I'm sure you'll find it useful.

          Hope this helped. Good luck!!

        • I would expect questions about school grades, previous work experience, why you want the job, and others depending the interviewer and whether you will be a cashier or a cleaner or what job you will do.

        • Do you think you are a good worker, Do you work well under stress/ when it gets busy. are you a team player. you just got to sell your self.
