Job Interview Questions: First job interview tips?

i am 15 and have my first job interview tomorrow. any tips i already know the interviewer. what kind of questions should i expect.

Knowing Some Job Interview Tips and Questions

Recommended Answer:
Without knowing what kind of job you're interviewing for it's kind of hard to help with specific suggestions, but a couple of general rules:

Dress for one position above the one you're applying for, so if it's a sales or fast food job, I'd suggest a nice outfit that you feel comfortable in, not too much makeup, and no perfume. You don't want your appearance to cost you the job, so don't overdo it, just make yourself look professional and reliable.

Make good eye contact, have a firm handshake, smile when appropriate, answer questions completely without rambling or going off topic, and don't put anything on the interviewer's desk without permission.

Never say anything negative about anything at any time. If they ask you if you have any faults, and they might, have an answer ready, like, "I tend to expect my coworkers to care as much about their jobs, or customer service, as I do". Always make it sound like a positive. If they ask you why you left your last job, or why this is your first one, or why you want to work for this company, have an answer ready that shows your willingness to be part of the team and to do everything you can to help them achieve their goals. They will probably ask you if you have any questions for them at the end of the interview, and it's always preferable to have one ready, like, "when do you thing you'll be making a hiring decision? Can I call you then to check in with you? Where do you see this position going in the future?" Something that shows your interest in becoming part of the organization and how you can help them achieve their goals. Everything you say should emphasize your strong commitment to customer service, helping people, and being part of the team (tailor it to the type of business it is). Use any experience you have with church groups, summer camps, other jobs, even if they're informal types like babysitting or yard work, that show your willingness to work hard and your dedication.

You're 15, not 45, so they probably aren't going to ask about your managerial philosophy or to describe a time you disagreed with your boss and how you resolved the problem. Research the organization so you know as much as you can about it's history, philosophy, and goals. Be yourself and try to relax, though you and and the interviewer both know it can be a stressful situation. Always be positive, do your best to show your commitment to the goals of the group, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to the goals of the organization.

Job Interview Questions: What do you say when you go to a job interview and are asked "why do you want to work here?"?

i can only think of one part, for example, if its like toys R us, you would say something like "well, i like toys and..." but the second part is what i'm having trouble with.

i have a job interview with family video so if asked, i would say, "well i like movies and" but thats all i got, what should the second part be?

Questions To Ask In A Job Interview - 5 Simple Questions To Make Yourself Shine

Recommended Answer:
say you gots to get paid say
i like toys and i gots to get paid
so i come for the money but stay for the toys
that way they know you'll be sticking around a long time because the toys aren't going away
same with the movies

i like movies and i gots to get paid
i come for the money but i stay for the movies

this has worked for me but i usually wait until i have the job before I tell them this

I don't know how well it will work if you tell them this before you get the job

hope that helps you and good luck in your interview

Improve Your Job Interview Skills to Get Your Dream Job

  • Liking movies isn't an asset for employees at Family Video, although you can add that for the sake of humor after answering the question seriously. Why do you really want to work there? Is there some goal you want to achieve? Are you saving up to buy a car?

Perhaps you can just say that you believe working at Family Video will provide you with the kind of experience that will be beneficial to your current, as well as future goals and aspirations.... plus, I like movies.

Job Interview Questions: Applying for a job, how common is it for an employer to ask you to bring a credit report to an interview?

I am applying for a position, and apparently they issue you a company credit card, so they want a credit report brought with you. However, I don't feel like getting a credit report for just one job interview. If it is relatively commonplace, I will go for it just to have it handy.

Telephone Job Interview Challenges - Preparation Is the Key!

Recommended Answer:
I agree with ***. They should be able to pull a report themselves.

I've never heard of an employer asking you to bring one, most places just ask for your signature to pull one themselves.

Tell them that you don't want to pay for it unless they reimburse you (if they bring up that you get one free per year from each bureau just say you've used yours up for this year).

Good luck!

Lethal Job Interview Mistakes

  • I've never heard of anyone asking that the prospective employee bring one. If they want one they should pull it themselves.

  • It's getting more common with retail, security and financial companies. Many companies are asking for credit profiles of prospective employees. They want to be sure that the employee isn't in such financial straits that they might steal inventory from the company or misuse the company credit card and sell stuff to enhance their income to pay debts.

You have two choices. You can bring it as they requested or find another job.

You can get a free credit report from:
    https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i…

Just click through the extra options (to get you to buy crdit monitoring services and other junk). Credit scores are not free.

  • It's common for them to have you sign a form that grants them permission to run one on you, but far less common for them to request you bring your own. Someone could easily fabricate their paperwork to look better.

Job Interview Questions: Do Express stores only do group interviews? Job interview advice?

I have a job interview at Express tomorrow and I'm very nervous. While talking to one of the employees at the store she mentioned her interview was a group interview. Do all Express stores do them by default?
Also any advice on group interviews/ regular interviews would be appreciated!

How To Give Good Job Interview Answers

Recommended Answer:
Do all Express stores do them by default?
You have to ask the interviewer or manager if all Express stores do them by default.

For group interviews, be polite and enthusiastic. No need to boast or put others down. Nonetheless, be aggressive in answering questions that will arise and input courteous comments here and there.
Be prepared by practicing in the mirror and in front of your friends/families. Make sure you know what to say by answering sample questions. Be attentive and ask clever questions to the interviewer.
Be tactful and stay positive. These advices also pertain to regular interviews. Make sure to make a good impression by being professional :)

Job Interview Tips to Help You Wow Your Interviewers and Land the Job

  • I hate group interviews. They do this to save money and time, which I find revolting.
If the company has enough money to run a multimillion dollar outfit, they certainly have time to spend with each applicant, seperately.

Not all stores will do this, unless it is company policy. A lot of stores will do this usually this time of year, when starting to hire for the holiday season....only because they need a lot of people at one time.

The last group interview I had was at Bath and Body Works. The manager read questions from a form and asked us all the same question.
Im pretty used to what kind of answers they want, so I give the "standard" answers.

All you can do is smile during the whole thing and give answers you think a big corporation would want to hear.

Basically, just keep in mind, they want to know you will be there everyday, all day, work any hours, and be available on holidays.

    Hope that helps.

Secrets to Answering Job Interview Questions About Your Weaknesses

  • Try a nice blouse and either a skirt or dress pants. Go light on the makeup and perfume. Be conservative on the jewelry and wear a watch if you have one. Finish your look with skin tone or tan pantyhose. The hose will give you a professional look and keep you warmer. For shoes, try a low heeled pump. If it is raining or snowing, use galoshes to protect your good shoes.

    Good luck in your interview.

  • I don't think it's a good idea to wear heels in the snow unless you want to slip and fall. Stick with some slacks/dress pants and wear thermals underneath. Wear thermals under your shirt too and layer it. You can wear a sweater and maybe a wool coat until you get there and take it off.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I have a job interview and was wondering what I should wear it's a local sub restaurant and a pretty casual fast food environment. Could I wear jeans and a nice blouse?

Thank you!

You're Not Alone If You Hate Going To Job Interviews

Recommended Answer:
You want to appear somewhat dressy, even though it's a casual place. Black dress pants , dark jeans, or even a dark denim skirt (no holes) should be fine. Also make sure you have some makeup on, at least lip gloss.
