Job Interview Questions: Job interview, over the phone?

So, I have a job interview over the phone (it's a low-end thing), but I've never done a job interview, let alone over the phone. What should I expect? Do you have any tips?

Thanks for any help.

Four Job Interview Mistakes That Can Torpedo Your Chances of Success

Recommended Answer:
Dress smart and try not to pick your nose. Ha.

It'll be okay I'm sure. Just speak clearly and precisely. Listen carefully to whats said. Have some answers already prepared for questions that you know they are going to ask, like work history, why you want to apply etc. Check out the company website, if they have one, so you're armed with some background knowledge about them. That always goes down well, in fact it's a necessity. Should be a breeze.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to this Job interview?

So I'm not sure if you all know what store K-mart is. (I would compare it to wal-mart, just a smaller version) but I got an interview there. I'm not sure what to wear. Could I wear Jeans? Or would that be too casual? I have a dressy-type shirt (not a button down, just kinda dressy. I usually wear it to interviews. So what would be the proper type of outfit? What would be improper? Anything helps.

What Colors To Wear To A Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
I would never wear jeans to an interview. Slacks, a nice top, business casual would be fine for this interview. I agree with the previous post, this is your only chance to make a first impression and you need to dress conservatively. Don't dress in anything revealing.

Ways to Hugely Boost Your Job Interview Success Rate

    • Smart clothing NOT jeans or casual, it may be a chain store but it is still a job interview, 1st impressions etc!...good luck!....

    • I would say something smart. Like trousers (not jeans) with a shirt and jacket. This always makes a good impression. Good luck with your interview xx

Job Interview Questions: What should I say in this job interview?

I'm a 16 year old girl and I applied for a job at a clothing store.
The store mainly provides clothes for women who are 30+ years old.
So anyway, I have an interview this weekend and I'm not sure exactly what I should say if they ask the question
"Why do you want to work here?"

How to Recover From a Bad Job Interview and Get the Job

    Recommended Answer:
Well, why DO you want the job. If its just because you need a job, then you'll have to 'dress up' your answer. Do a little research on the company you want to work for so you can tailor your answer.

Perhaps you like their ideals or philosophy (e.g. not using child labour), perhaps you can say you are interested in the clothing industry and see working in the retail side as a good primer for years to come.

The one answer you shouldn't give is 'because I need the money' - it makes you look desperate and unlikely to care about the job itself.

Discrimination Against Women at Job Interviews and How You Can Prevent It

    Recommended Answer:
You need to be confident and honest.

Since you have never had a job before, I am assuming they already know that. Just answer their questions. Make sure you let them know that you learn fast, you are responsible, take the initiative, you are very hard worker and work well with others. Those are all things every employer wants to hear at an interview.

An ice cream shop is a good first job. You will learn discilpine and responsibility of a good hard worker.

Expert Job Interview Advice From Someone Doing the Hiring

        Recommended Answer:
Times are tough right now, I'd wear a suit. But dress conservative, no jewelry, hair cut, pay attention to your shoes... many interviewers look at the shoes to see if you are the type to pay attention to detail.

But depends on the position you are applying for. Management? Definitely a suit. Salesperson? Suit minus the jacket. Best to err on the dressier side, but don't wear an armani suit or anything, or the people will think you don' tneed a job.

        Hope I helped..

What to Do Before, During and After a Job Interview

        • Many peeps get stuck when they are aiming to settle what to wear at an interview. Personally I'm from the old school, I believe that formal wear is never inappropriate; you can get some tips from the site in the box below, they also have loads of advice on job seeking.

        • Business casual is sufficient. I used to work there last year seasonally and I wore a business casual outfit. No need to overdress. Simply wear formal pants and a nice dress shirt with black polished shoes. That is plenty right there. It is more important in the way you present yourself and how you talk. That will say you a professional.

        • Shirt and tie for EVERY interview. No exceptions.

        • dress fashionably. like, nice dress pants, and a dress shirt in a color that stands out but isnt too bold.

Job Interview Questions: Is Wearing A Rainbow Afro Wig To A Job Interview A Good Idea?

I want to really stand out for this job interview. I have thought about wearing a rainbow afro wig to spruce up a more than likely dully job interview. Also, do you think it will be a good idea to have a little horn, so that after every sentence I state, I squeeze it twice? Thoughts?

How To Shine At Your Next Job Interview

        Recommended Answer:
i don't think that would be a very good idea unless your interviewing for the circus or a clown job or something. if you want to stand out you just have to be different. if your resume is different and not plain that helps and if your answers are interesting and stand out. if they ask you something like why do you want the job or if thet job is temporary and they say something like your not going to be there for very long or something come up with a witty but professional type of answer

Take a Look at Some Useful Job Interview Tips

        • What is the situation with this horn? Does it light up, or make noise?

If so, then it's perfect. Try to make it voice activated so every time someone says something they are assaulted with a bright, noisy horn.

        • It's not a good idea unless you're interviewing to be a Clown. Or you're bald.

        • If you don't want the job then yes.

        • Dont forget your red nose!

        • wear a couple of dillys around your neck in the shape of a cross also

        • Nope, you wont get the job.. That's 4 sure'

        • no. you will look like an idioit. the only way to stand out is to BE YOURSELF.

        • yes!

you'll be guaranteed to get the job with that wig on!

        • Hands down yes.

        • well I approved the wig, but the horns a little much don't you think?

        • NO I DON'T THINK SO GO WITH SOMETHING SMART N SIMPLE

Job Interview Questions: What clothes to wear to a job interview?

I've got an important job interview soon, but i dont want to go overkill and wear a suit and tie, so I'm trying to find a good balance between clothes.

Should I get black trousers or Chinos? What colour shirt should I wear, and would a jacket or sports coat be a good finish? I was thinking about putting on my tan coloured shoes too, so I stand out.

The irony of it, is its a very casual work place, all jeans and T-shirts. Ironic I need to dress up for the interview!
