Recommended Answer:Ideally, they're going to want someone who 1) really understands how mentally draining and taxing this kind of job can be, 2) knows that they can still deal with it and 3) has a positive view of the work.
So, rather than saying something like "It's no big deal if they hit me", say something like "I know that will probably happen sometimes, but I it's important that these people still have someone to help them, and I'm committed to that."
If you downplay how much it hurts/offends when things like that happen, they will think that you don't really understand the job and assume that you will not last. It's also good to know how you will calm yourself down if you get angry or upset, because you can say "If ________ hit me, I might feel hurt or offended, but I always remember to count to ten before reacting, and that helps me to be more effective in dealing with a situation"
Also, make sure they know that you understand that things that might be easy for you are difficult for the people you are watching, so you don't mind if you have to repeat something several times before they do what you said, etc.
Hope that helps!
